It doesnt. Instead, part of the transformation is based on the B127 mold along with the wheels.

Honestly if you told me he was part of the lineup for the WFC game, I would 100% believe it. I dig the look for his robot mode. Looks really sleek.

Technically it can be seen as a reboot of sorts given the actual tone of the film (even if chronologically, it's still part of the same timeline as the others).

So as it is now, we get the best of both worlds.

Wheeljack looks surprisingly good, I was not expecting to like the alt mode on him. Gives me some faith that the other cybertron designs will get decent toys

I'm all for a design that's more than simply folding the top of the vehicle into a shell/cape that hangs on the back. This looks pretty good, and probably the best robot mode matched with that alt mode.

Wow, I really like the look of him! Nice clean robot mode and a pretty nice vehicle mode too. Makes me optimistic for the other rumoured SS Bumblebee figures.

An interesting note: The premium finish SS VW Bumblebee reportedly has retooled tabs that allow alt mode to tab in much better. I'm curious if we'll see any other fixes in future premium releases, like Jetfire's fragile spine piece.

At least it seems like Hasbro is sort of screwing things up for every line that isn't SS86. Blaster, probably the most sought after figure from Legacy wave 1, didn't get a real reveal either and also will not get pre-orders.

But hey, next week we should get a 30 minute reveal and pre-order notice for something from SS86 expected for Christmas (of next year).

The blaster thing is dumb because now that he is revealed they could at least have all the other sites like BBTS and EE show him in the Legacy wave as the other voyager. Like that those who want to preorder him, to make sure they get him if wave 5 is skipped by their stores, know that there are indeed preorders for him.

I think you are answering your own question. These days, they tie reveals with preorders. Since they have no preorders for Sideswipe, they didn't do much in terms of a reveal. Reveals of toys we have already seen don't really matter if there is no order to go with it so does it really matter if Hasbro aknowledges a toy's existence? There havent been reveals for any of the Cyberverse stuff and it doesn't seem to trouble that many people.

I have a feeling that the reason that no one cares about lack of reveals for Cyberverse, is that no one (sadly) cares about Cyberverse. A lof fans have preconceived notions about the line and as such, don't give it the time of day.

A shame because many Cyberverse toys are actually BETTER than their Generations counterparts. Notably Deluxe Prowl and Ultra Skullcrunsher.

A while ago we heard that B-127 was getting repacked at some point for Studio Series - turns out it's not a straight repack. Has a darker yellow color, uses the unmasked head sculpt from Offroad Bee, and stands better than the original release

Well, this is something we had no word of until today. We will be getting a new release of the B127 deluxe toy that first appeared in Studio Series. This release is different from the previous toy since it has different paint apps (a very different tone of yellow) and an unmasked head to be more accurate to the opening scene on Cybertron. Our first look at this upcoming figure is in this video review below from Prime vs Prime. We do not know if this will come out in the Studio Series line or the Buzzworthy line or in a multipack of sorts, but we will let you know as soon as we do.

I'll be honest, I might get this repaint. I didn't like the always on battle mask look, but this unmasked one looks nice. Plus, it'd go nicely with the Wheeljack, and any others we get

Having already the Cliffjumper, I had no needs for the previous "computer mouse" Bee. But not only this one have the right head and better colors, some tolerance issues have been fixed too.

I'll be getting this one. Will look pretty damn nice next to my old Gen. WfC (game) Bee.

I like that they left the face in gray plastic, looks much better than the silver paint.

I was pretty meh about the original release (I like the design but the legs are a real pain and it has a hard time standing), but it seems like the legs and ability to stand are better, and the new yellow is nice.

I'm seeing people speculate this is for Buzzworthy so yes it's a separate release.

I'm just hoping we get an equally dope Cliffjumper re-release in Buzzworthy, I skipped both Cliffy and B-127 on their first release thinking they were a one off but after seeing the pics of PvP's stolen Wheeljack I want all these Cybertronian Autobots from Bumblebee. Praying that a Cybertronian Optimus is in the pipeline as well because he's the only one not leaked at the moment but neither was this new B-127 so there's hope.

Back then the toys weren't numbered though. Having the exact same toy just be a different color happened often yes. This new B127 has a whole new head though.

It all depends on what product number they're given, really. During Beast Wars Hasbro did experiment with variants like shown above, with the caveat they have the same product number. We may see them as different, but to the stores at least they're the same product, be it black or white. Hasbro pulled that stunt again with the RiD Mini-Con 4-packs all sharing the same product code, despite having different contents.

Straight re-releases like ER Astrotrain, Kingdom Arcee and Kingdom Leader Optimus Prime, despite looking the same as their predecessors, should be noted as while it's expected for them to keep their product codes, their original assortments and their codes were discontinued, so new codes were assigned.
