While we did show this image in the news earlier today, we did not have much time to go over it since we wanted to get you the details of the reveals asap. But now, we have a bit of time to go over it and we see that this Pulsecon did reveal all the wave 1 toys afterall including Blaster and the core class figures, thanks to this poster below. We see a Seeker and that is indeed core Skywarp, who will be a redeco of core Starscream. There is also core Hot Rod which should be a new mold, he also seems to be holding a sword. Most importantly, since this was a big question from people, we see Iguanas. He is the purple reptilian face on the lower right. This confirms that this core Iguanas is G1 Ignauas and not the Beast wars one. Rumour is that the robot mode is the monster shell which turns into a vehicle.

We also see Blaster, next to Arcee atop Bulkhead. Now it is still uncertain if Blaster will still be coming out in Kingdom, we still have a wave left, or if his first time on the shelves will be in the Legacy line. But regardless, this is out first look at him in his G1 glory.

Finally, we have a lot more stock images and official shots of all the reveals of today. They can all be found below. And to answer people's common questions: YES Dragstrip will combine to form Menasor, this was confirmed in the panel, and NO he does not appear to have a combiner peg that would make him Combiner Wars compatible. Menasor is the only combiner appearing in the mainline next year.

Some of these are available on Hasbro Pulse, including the exclusive Galvatorn figure, and they mainline toys can or will be avialable for purchase at your preferred online retailer.

On Dragstrip, the G1 toy's combiner peg was on the bottom of the car or Dragsrtip's back. Given that this new toy is based on G1, its possible the combiner peg is simply on his back, out of view. It could still be the Combiner Wars peg, wont know for sure until we see how it combines.

Cause they don't tend to show off the refreshes for the lines

This Legacy line is not due out until 2022, even with early retail releases. In winter 2021, you are getting the next wave of Kingdom which is still not finished.

Mindmaster wrote:IIRC, either Blaster or Armada Starscream are supposed to be the second Voyager (the other being Wave 2) but I guess they held off on them and the Cores for a later time. BBTS has listings for Bulkhead and a “mystery figure”.

It's Blaster. This Mystery figure shit is nonsense, just reveal the damn figures Hasbro.

Oof.

In the last couple of days I made my feelings known regarding Bulkhead and Skids. Now, for the rest that I see featured in this thread. Keep in mind, this is just my opinion. If you like them, fine. It's your money. Suffice it to say I am underwhelmed. It seems that most of these figures suffer from 1 of the modes being subpar in order to accommodate the other mode.

The bot modes on Dragstrip and Optimus look good, the vehicle modes not so much. The CW version of Dragstrip is clearly superior overall. The only reason to get this one is to display the Stunticons both separately and combined. I never cared for G2 Prime, so this will be a pass.

Arcee is definitely an overall downgrade from the TFP deluxe, the only positive I can think of is that she doesn't have the original's back kibble. But they gave her a flat chest and a blank face, which is a bummer.

Kickback looks good in both modes, but I'm very happy with the Prime Wars version, so he's not needed. If you like him, great.

And Galvatron to me is just a waste of plastic and leader spot in the line. But if you like him, good for you.

I'm still looking forward to the rest of the reveals, but my expectations have been heavily grounded. Bring on the rest of the BW figures, and maybe Blaster. Otherwise, it's money saved.

Also, just a reminder, there are a lot of shipping and supply delays right now, in the US at least, due to the inefficient response of the inept current federal government to this "pandemic," so it's quite possible that what we're used to as far as the timeline of new figures hitting shelves will not be the same for this holiday season.

And finally, a response to a specific post by Cyber Bishop from page 40:

You chided some of us who complain about this new line (me being 1 of those), so here's my answer. Just because Hasbro keeps putting stuff out for the "older demographic," doesn't mean we should accept that stuff automatically out of fear that we won't see anymore. Especially when they're seriously dropping the ball design-wise. If this Legacy line fails, what makes you think they will simply regress to making simple kiddie toys, as you said? It seems Hasbro is just taking it for granted that we buy everything they give us, just for this reason. And to me it seems this is causing them to slack not only on quality but innovation as well, especially when prices are going up.

So yeah, as a member of the "older demographic," I am a bit unhappy and unsatisfied with what we've been getting. Sure, it's my choice to buy the figures or not, but no one (not Hasbro or fellow fans) can tell me that I am ungrateful for not validating their lack of progression in design and production with my wallet. And maybe a financial failure of this new line will wake them up to how stagnant they are becoming and they will actually focus on other continuities besides G1. And shoehorning characters from other continuities into G1 doesn't count. It might give a new facet to G1, but so far the 2 examples (Arcee and Bulkhead) have done major disservice to the source material.

Both of whom look really, really good.

All I really want are these new Insecticons, Stunticons, and Blitzwing, the other 3 Dinobots, Blaster and Perceptor and and I will be so close to bowing out of the collecting game.

Everything/anything else along the way is just icing

Around the time Kingdom was announced, I thought it was going to be my last line for that reason: between Prime Wars, WfC, and a few figures I pulled in from the T30 era, I was going to have a near-complete G1 animated lineup. Then they announced SS86 and TF:TM Kingdom figures, most of whom I had from Prime Wars. Not only did I buy all of those versions, I decided to get the BW cast too. Now with Legacy I'm purchasing additional Insecticons and Stunticons and dabbling in Prime.

What I mean is, for some of us, there's no exit.

BRB digging through bins to determine what I should unload at the con this weekend.

Yeah, although especially for people who like screen accuracy, Hastak has taken it up a notch in the last couple years...
I don't plan on selling my Henkei Hot Rod, but the SS86 version is hands-down better.
The same can be said for a whole lot of characters/figures. At least in my opinion.

It's difficult to say what improvements and how much better said improvements would need to be for me to feel any pull to replace a lot of these guys.
Hastak has peaked in some ways with a lot of these characters... They are definitive versions for me.

And as prices keep going up, a version that's only slightly better seems even less worth it.

Energon weapons, weapons that combine, modulators, fossilizers, random 5mm ports all over the place... I'vw never been a fan of these types of gimmicks, and they're becoming even less and less appealing.
I don't care or think it's bad if people are into these things. But they're not for me.

I'll wait for the other two Dinobots for sure, and maybe a new Astrotrain...
But I'm predicting that by 2025 I will have made my exit and will be on a permanent hiatus.

There is another way to look at the price of this Ravage 2-pack: It's less than one-sixth the price of the cheapest Beast Wars X-9 Metals Jaguar currently on eBay.

ya beat me to it lol. but ya, Prime Arcee did not skip leg day. or arm day. or any of the days. agreed with the pre-tool. Not that I needed another Prime Arcee, I have the FE, the RiD, the NYCC, AND the R.E.D. (I dont have a problem, YOU HAVE A PROBLEM!!) but once again, like Bulkhead before, this just doesn't fit the character. She doesnt need to be feminine, but she does need to be lithe, something that looks sleek and nimble. kind of a defining trait of Prime Arcee.

well, that and back luck with partners...

Feel like comparing a modern release, even an exclusive like this, to a Japan-only release from 20+ years ago is a little misrepresentative.

It's overcharging for a figure because they think they can. At that price, it's largely scalper bait. Others can justify it to themselves however they want, it's a bad price point for a deluxe figure.

From the sound of things, some of the other exclusives are pretty overpriced too, maybe Hasbro just wanted them to all be around a certain price point across the board for some idiotic reason, either that or the die-cast components are really costly to do nowadays

Come on, man, there is a video out there showing all the reveals, that's what this whole discussion is about. And in it, we see the back, so it is not out of view. Before posting about what may be out of view, just check the video to be sure if that's the case or not.

Depends.

Prediction: Blaster wasn't revealed because he's still going to be part of Kingdom wave 5 with Pipes and Slammer (we can assume it still exists since even the earliest Wave 1 figure in Bulkhead doesn't come out until May 2022), and they just decided not to reveal wave 5 for whatever reason.

Anyway, Legacy is looking pretty great so far. All of the figures look cool, but Prime and maybe Arcee are the only ones I'm interested in buying. Can't wait until they reveal Blaster, he's my #2 want from Legacy after Minerva

So my buys from this will be lighter than any other line since I began collecting Generations in 2014.
From wave 1, I will get Kickback and Dragstrip and that's it from this presentation. Might get the cores and Blaster if I don't have him yet. I will get the Lazer Prime mold as Black Convoy simply because I find it fun that the best known version of that classic mold is a repaint, making it a character of it's own. And it will be fun to superimpose that with the other Scourge we are getting in 2022 for ROTB.

Minor thing: That model is miscolored and uses the wrong head. It's from a Ukranian fansite that colored in the black-and-white models of the Ark artbooks based on various random sources, and slapped on whatever heads they could get from screengrabs.

Here's the model properly colored according to Toei's cel-vinyl colors, and with the correct head:

Also, note the model's lack of upper arms; an error that was never corrected.

I felt honored to finally be able to make Bulkhead look like he belongs in our G1 universe!

I think having an unified aesthesic for all different versions Transformers to be able to interact in single toyline is good, however,I don't think calling it "G1 Universe" is the right way to go about it.

If the storyline continues from where Kingdom left off my interest is increased.

The question is what is the production run on this? I dont like the price either but its not out of line for a Votcon Exclusive, and those were priced high because of the small bumbers, retooled head, and licencing. Ravage doesnt have the licenencing because this is Hasbro direct but he also got a SIGNIFICANT retool. New head, chest, thighs, guns, arms maybe, if they are making a vastly smaller number of him than a retool of this magnitude at retail production volumes I can almost swallow it.

But the flip side is that if they did do that, then they knowingly underproduced what they could actually sell.

From the TFWiki Discord server.

I've been told that one can apparently check quantities of items for sale on Hasbro Pulse by looking through the order page's code via F12, but I haven't been able to figure that trick out myself yet.

It might give a new facet to G1, but so far the 2 examples (Arcee and Bulkhead) have done major disservice to the source material.

One minor nitpick, Galvatron isn't part of the Legacy line and was a Exclusive like Ravage :)

Come on, man, there is a video out there showing all the reveals, that's what this whole discussion is about. And in it, we see the back, so it is not out of view. Before posting about what may be out of view, just check the video to be sure if that's the case or not.

ok my bad, I was working when the presentation started and by the time I got out I felt no need or desire to watch the video because I felt I got all the info I needed from here

I vaguely recall seeing an image of this Galvatron figure, but part-way through being reformatted. I assume now, if it happens, that will be a fourth redeco after this Tron Galvatron?

Also, is Bulkhead an Inferno retool? The torso looks similar??

There are rumors of an RED Galvatron, but there haven't been any images yet. I don't think I've seen any partial formatting Galvatron, just the RED Megatron in that style.

After seeing all the reveals... Hate to say it, but my "the original is better" or "the original update is better" mentality is kicking in on some. :BANG_HEAD: Doesn't help that I already own some that belong in either group.

Really disappointed in Drag Strip not being CW-compatible, but eh... not totally unexpected. Makes me curious for Menasor however. Looks like I'll only be picking up Skids and the other odd bot. Bring on the redecos!

I think having an unified aesthesic for all different versions Transformers to be able to interact in single toyline is good, however,I don't think calling it "G1 Universe" is the right way to go about it.

When everythings "G1" nothing will be

Galvatron ended up in the Selects thread and 8 think Ravage talk was in the Kingdom thread, though I think both should have been in there but c'est la vie.

I did agree with the rest of what you said Rodimus ;)^

What exactly is the point of G1-ifying non-G1 characters to make them all look like they're from the same G1 universe... if the entire premise of this line is non-G1 characters crossing over from other universes via dimensional portals? If they're supposed to be visitors from other universes and not native to the G1 universe, why make them all look like they are?

The toys are explicitly named "Prime Universe Bulkhead" and "Prime Universe Arcee", so they're dimension-hoppers rather than G1 natives. Yet, they get redesigned to look like they from the same universe as the G1 guys that they aren't supposed to be familiar with. So what gives, Hasbro? Why do a multiverse story if you're just going to make it all look and feel like a single universe with no distinctive aesthetic qualities between worlds? Why make everything look the same when you're marketing the non-G1 guys as non-G1 guys from non-G1 universes?

And yes, they were explicit in the video that this is another multiversal crossover deal (a la Universe 2003), talking about "the multiverse", "portals", and "continuities", and even misusing some nerdy terms egregiously, like saying "all of these multiverses are coming together", when they clearly meant "universes" and not "multiverses".

My guess is they think a line that has a unified design aesthetic will sell better, than a line that's a patchwork (in a manner of speaking) of styles.

As much as I would have preferred a mixed look, they're probably right.

I don't think so. But one thing is sure. That Bulkhead is a pretool for lots of other characters. I'm sure of it. And for some weird reason the more I see him, the more I like him. :-?

But that "Arcee". I take personal offense with that thing.

I can see why. Integrated leg wheels de-integrated and now hang off the sides of her legs, genericized face, head details look like they're no longer a part of her face and instead a part of her helmet (like she's just cosplaying by wearing a Prime Arcee helmet), her once slim and round lower legs and lower arms are now bulky and squared off, her once lean ninja-like physique is now buff and rugged, and while her torso is less sexualized and bikini-like, it's also pretty ordinary-looking.

And worst of all, her iconic "wings" are gone. That's like making a new G1 police car Prowl without door wings.

Ah haha the way they have her holding it makes it seem like a slingshot or drone or something. More than anything it reminds me of those machines that shoot out footballs, the ones that receivers use for practice lol

Were it not for the fact Prime Arcee is a Deluxe and Iguanus is a Core...

Never really got that whole "sexualized" bit. Arcee looked like a robotic version of a lithe and fit female, an acrobat. Sure she was easy on the eyes, but fit, heroic, and attractive tend to go hand in hand with each other.

I'll agree that the new figure is too bulky though, to the point of looking more like a guy

And here we have it, the heart of the matter straight from Mark Maher himself:

"I mean, Transformers, we have such rich history. It's like forty years of just characters from all different, like, universes. I mean, the style and design aesthetics of each universe has its own feel and look. So, you know, early on, John Warden put the seeds in the ground for this and, uh, our design director, Michelino, actually really took the team together and was was like, 'We need something fresh and new for Generations.' So we're taking all of these characters from all of these different continuities, and we're trying to, like, almost like, place them into a universe of their own, which is basically Legacy. And, of course, having, like, a heavy G1 influence because, you know, I love G1, so."

I'm digging him too the more I see him and pre-ordered from Amazon.

Definitely not a retool. Take a look at the vehicle mode photos, the transformation is definitely different. The back of the truck are his legs with knees bent and the waist up near the top. Now look through the windshield. His arms and head end up inside the cab. Nothing like Infero/Grapple.
