The jet mode's a bit lumpen towards the back, but it's not that bad. Robot mode... it's... well... it's quite a nice colour, I suppose?

I pity the toy designers who have te translate the movie's rediculous transformations to such a minitoy. Not an easy task at all.

Yeah, really. If you look at some of the comparison pics floating around, the movie Legends are actually smaller than the normal Cybertron Legends toys.
Yeah, the look weird, I know. But you try to make a two inch tall helicopter turn into something that looks like the movie design for Blackout. Considering the complex bot modes, the small scale, cheap and simple transformations that the designers have no choice BUT to work with, I think these are not too bad. I mean Starscream looks like an F22 in vehicle mode, and he looks like his bot mode when he's transformed. mission accomplished. And he has balls joints for crying out loud, that's enough to impress me.
Fans need to be more forgiving, especially when it comes to smaller, cheaper figs.

Yes G1 Transformers had arms! G1 Starscream, Thundercracker, and Skywarp had at least half of an arm and another half that you put on after transforming them... if you could find them both. But that was cool because it could be like battle damage or something.
There were a lot of "battle damaged" transformers in our household missing hands or wings or just a weapon system.
But that was good because you could feel that quality. It might have been in the die cast that made a lot of those figures topple over at the slightest breeze. It might have also been because at most they had two points of articulation and the rest was pure quality goodness. It could have been a lot of things.
All I know is that when I put Devastator together, I knew I had a solid lump of brick... if I could find all the connector pieces, the chest wings, the lower arms, hands, and head. A quality brick.
Much love for G1, but it's much better in my memories.
The Starscream isn't the greatest toy ever, but it'll be cheap and it's a pretty good representation of his movie form. Blackout actually look ok for a Legend toy.

Blackout? Blackout is fast becoming my favorite of the movie Decepticons. This miniaturized version certainly hasn't hurt... He looks the best of the movie LoCs we've seen so far.

no way, Gobots were much better, they were cheap, there's no doubt but it was the 1980s, and Bandai wasn't as versed in making robot toys as they are now with gundam under their belt.. they still have trouble, look at the Zords from Power Rangers yeeesh!!!
Still for its time, and the story line Go-bots was actually pretty cool.. I loved the idea of a Badassed Biker leader of an evil robot army like Cy-kill and the valiant jet defender of freedom like Leader One.. it was a cool concept.. worthy of being made to truly show homage by being incoroporated into the Transformers mythos as a side team under Leader One's leader ship, with Cy-kill as a general for Megatron or galvatron.. that would be a great story..
Anyone evr seen Gundam Blue Destiny.. now that was a kick ass side story.. and great mecha.. no gundams allowed.. it was all about the hyper blue badass GM..
Favorite Gundam type figure/Model..
The Hygog..I wish they could do an aquatic Transformer that matched him in looks and power.. now that was a cool episode of Gundam..war in the pocket..
Man why can't they do an updated G-1 like that or CGI like the cutscenes from the PS2 Game??
Dreams............

So, Prime died and Megatron was 'reformatted' in 1986. They're used even more than Screamer. They're three of the most iconic Transformers characters, as well as fan favorites. While characters like Scourge and Cyclonus are cool, their popularity with both collectors and the occasional viewer/buyer don't compare to Prime, Megs, and Screamer.
Sorry for the long OT. Just wanted to point that out.
