Greetings Seibertronians!
Following on from our first look at the Dracula x Transformers crossover figure earlier today, Target has updated the reveal with the item page for Draculus!
Special thanks to fellow Seibertron users, AcademyofDrX and D-Maximal_Primal.
The listing also provides these new images for us to feast on of this unique addition to the ever growing Crossover range that started back in 2019 with the Ghostbusters x Transformers crossover figure, Ectotron.
As we can see, the figure is an extensive retool of Titans Returns Deluxe Class Mindwipe, and has had the Titan Master feature taken out. He also features a cloth cape that was an iconic part of the Dracula character on film.
The inner box that houses Draculus in package has also been designed to resemble a classic vhs.
The official write up for this figure is as follows:
Transformers Collaborative: Universal Monsters Dracula Mash-Up, Draculus
(Ages 8 and Up / Approx. Retail Price: $31.49 / Available: 10/1/2021)
Worlds collide in this TRANFORMERS-Dracula mash-up pack! The mysterious Count Dracula takes on a new form as a TRANSFORMERS robot, called DRACULUS. We are dealing with the undead…an undead DECEPTICON! DRACULUS rises from stasis under the cover of darkness and feeds on the ENERGON of the living. The DRACULUS figure is inspired by the vampire from the 1931 Universal Pictures film, Dracula. The figure stands at 5.5 inches, converts into bat mode in 23 steps, and features details inspired by the Dracula movie, including black and white deco inspired by the black and white movie release. DRACULUS also comes with cape, blaster, and Impaler claw accessories.
TRANSFORMERS robots have always been More Than Meets The Eye, but now, through the TRANSFORMERS Collaborative, fans can experience these larger-than-life characters as they team-up, mash-up, and meet up with other characters, teams, and people who share this same special quality. DRACULUS is available exclusively at Target and for pre-order on Target.com beginning September 10, 2021 at 1:00PM EST with limited quantities on Pulse.com.
What do you think of this crossover figure?

I like the packaging too though I don't feel the VHS tape is best suited for this release. When I think Bella Lugosi Dracula, I don't think VHS.

I know the designs have been updated for DVD and BRD releases, but I think for some there is a nostalgia factor.
To be fair, my dad was showing me these films on TV before they were available on VHS, but seeing all those covers together at the video store does bring back fond memories.

Same, but I appreciate the attempt to do something extra like that

Feel the same, especially for a figure with a feature taken away that would have improved it. I'll at least be buying one crossover finger soon though, just a slightly cheaper and massively out of scale one...

Also, for posterity, I'll repeat my earlier post, showing that Mindwipe is basically Dracula in all but name, with his headmaster bring a thrall/Igor:

Thanks, I ordered one there and added NEST Bumblebee to get the free shipping.
The box is kinda dumb. The description mentions him awakening from stasis at night so why not make a box that looks like a coffin shaped stasis pod? The VHS tape feels like a bad attempt at achieving that 80s and 90s vibe they've been going for with the other crossovers. Shaping it like a book would have made more sense.
Removing the headmaster is lame, too. Instead of being a robot like Dracula it could have been a robot for Dracula. And who sculpts a vampire head without visible fangs!? Plus it seems like whoever wrote the description hadn't seen the final figure because they keep stressing that the figure is in black and white with no mention of all the red.

To be fair, the robot mode sans accessories is in black and white. If it had been a Titan master they could have cleverly nodded to two of the most famous actors to have portrayed Dracula on the silver screen (Bela Lugosi and Christopher Lee)

Because the original Legosi Dracula didn't have fangs. That was a "relatively" recent addition to the vampire lore. Fun fact for you...thanks Svengoolie!

As for Draculus, it figures that the only crossover figure I want sells out before I could get to the preorder...
Posted by william-james88 on September 10th, 2021 @ 7:26pm CDT
This means Draculus is already being distributed to retailers, making the fact that they are choosing November for a release rather than October 31st quite puzzling. This toy could always be found in Targets earlier than the proposed release date, we never know.
This sighting comes from Banshee who posted it on Cybertron.ca.

Freaking LEADER price for a damn DELUXE.
Let's hope he'll be available like roaches as it was the case with Gigawatt. Sooner or later, it will be on sale/clearance at the much more normal 45$can price.

I have a spare TFP Vechicon (the one that turns into a plane) that I can turn into my own Draculus/Batmanus just by adding bat ears and some minor paint job. Besides, mold-wise, I think that either of the 2 Vechicon molds (the normal TFP & First Edition TFP) fits into the Dracula character better. They can pull off Dracula poses much better and look more slender. But they do not turn into a bat in alt-mode, so I understand why they chose the too-obvious Mindwipe instead.

TF Prime Soundwave seems the more obvious choice to me. Just add a face. You can even make Laserbeak into a bat-like familiar.

Agreed. Vampires turn into bats, but werewolves don't turn into wolves (usually) they turn into humans. Rework the legs so he doesn't have a tail, lose the wings and we'd have something cool. Of course with the current trend the Wolfman would be the original version which isn't as toyetic.

The Mindwipe retool, I recall people guessed a while back. But the lack of effort is extremely disappointing. When the nicest thing most people comment on is the boxart, it speaks volumes.

It's not really minimal. They redid the entire chest. Compared to Tyranocoon which just got a new head.
I agree on the loth cape - IMO TFs should just never have one, but it's easy to leave out. What else would you change about the figure to make it better?

Wings fold down into capes. It is a simple design idea that has been done with everything from Batman to Transformers EG Beast Machines Megatron
The issue is that they didn't want to give The Count an all new mold. Which would have greatly aided the figure. Dracula is supposed to look intimidating. The bat thing, is an aside to most fiction.
The hands were a nice addition. But, they should have stripped away more of Mindwipe than just his chest and head. More customisation, to make him look the part.
They make an all new mold for Maverick. A one off Top Gun character, with no extended media. Something considered hideous by many critics, I've seen and read. But a character more iconic than the Transformers themselves, they don't bother to go all out?

I can't even begin to speculate why Maverick was an all-new mold as opposed to Draculus. Maybe it's because Dracula doesn't have a new movie coming out? Maybe they don't believe 100& in the concept, so they went for a retool than an all new mold?

Dunno about the Robo Chicken thing, but the coffin is pretty iconic and would be much easier to do as a concept. Not all vampires turn into a bat and Dracula could do much more.
To be true to the Dracula mythos, the Dracula Transformers should have been a TRIPLE-CHANGER: Drac, Bat, Wolf.

Transforming into anything but a bat seems counterintuitive. Sure a coffin would also make sense, but it's kind of boring.

I think they were banking on the movie being out at the same time as the toy and helping drive interest before covid threw the whole movie release schedule into chaos. Maverick would have been much more relevant to current media if things didn't go haywire. It actually wouldn't surprise me to have a second run of Maverick show up if/when the movie ever comes out.

RE: Dracula
The Scourge Mold might have made more sense in terms of a cape too. Also ala Bram Stoker's original novel, Dracula travels via sleeping in large caskets. Filled with his native soil. He only really transforms into wolf throughout the story. So the coffin altmode would make sense for him.
Meanwhile, Universal Dracula started the bat thing. While also turning into a wolf and sleeping in a coffin...

Then Weirdwolf is going to be the Wolfman
&
Skullcruncher as Creature of the Black Lagoon.
So what about Frankenstein?
Hardhead, maybe?
Or let's get really stupid!
Apeface and Snapdragon as
KING KONG & GODZILLA!
I know one of us morons would buy it.

I'm sorry I didn't make my post clearer. I meant figures that are exclusive to US stores and not part of mainline retail in the US. It appears that some figures, possibly Draculus are going to see a wide release and not be tied to one store internationally. I know Takara is doing that with some Kingdom figures.
