Long?
Have you ever seen any of the Lord of the Rings films? Or the new Pirates? (which is long AND boring, the worst combination).
I think between 2 hours and 2 hours and a half is the perfect running for a movie, not too short, not too long.

this one friend of mine once told me that he snuck in a box of pizza once. the length seems fair enough.

dont get me wrong i love TF and im glad its around two hours long its just if we want this to suceed it has to draw in a broad audience and one of the reasons i didnt go see pirates of the carribean in the cinema is 3 hours is a looooooog time to spend watching a film your not really that pushed about.
being 135mins actually makes it fairly short in contempory terms so i can see alot of people thinking " ah its not that long if i dont like it, ill give it a shot" and getting converted
good news this

they snuck in a pizza! thats crazy. thats what i like about my theatre. you can buy pizza there. anyways, thats off topic.
the time is good, i kind of wish it was longer just so i could see more of the robots, but i guess its long enough.

Yep. Still, two hours is a mighty fine length for this movie. A two hour geekasm.

movies that are under 2 hours are USUALLY either crap movies or little kid ones.

The first fantastic 4 movie really disappointed me.

Stupid Diet Coke and air conditioning, always ruins a trip to the theater for me.

i_amtrunks wrote:That sounds about right, much longer and it would probably start to feel a little overlong, like Pirates 3 did.
and it wouldnt have much to it if they did that. having a movie too long means they gotta keep it action packed or else it will get boring.
Posted by Spartanion on June 13th, 2007 @ 6:13pm CDT
SM3: 2 hrs. 20 mins.
PoC 3: 2hrs 45 mins
Longer than TF but the questions is does it still apply to movies that aren't threequels?
Ghost Rider 1hr 50mins
300: 1hr 57 mins
Knocked Up: 2hrs 9mins
Really the only blockbuster movies that are under 1 hr 50 mins are comedies like Wild Hogs, Blades of Glory, and Shrek This is probably because its harder to keep people laughing for 2hrs than it is to entertain them with 2hrs of action.
So in conclusion this is a great length for the movie.
I can't wait!

My friend and I snuck in booze for Pirates 3, but I'm thinking not for this. I want to notice aaaaaall the details.
I also agree about the novel making me think it wouldn't be a long film. I hope they changed some things that didn't please me, too.

I think there will be a lot of changes - which is why I won't bother getting either the comic adaption or the novel.
