Thanks to the official Imaginarium Art page for their officially licensed Transformers statues, we have a final pre-order listing for their G1 esque Jazz figure, with final colours, look, and price ready for anyone willing to buy the funky dude.
Jazz is Optimus Prime's right-hand man. Unlike Prowl, Prime's military strategist, Jazz responds well to change and improvisation. Whatever surprises the Decepticons spring, Jazz can deal with it. His position as Special Operations head calls for all the skills he possesses, yet he still has time to add some style to everything he does. Jazz's upbeat and outgoing personality make him one of the most popular Autobots among the Ark's crew.
An admirer of Earth music of every kind, Jazz loves culture. More than most other Autobots, he has his finger on the pulse of Earth trends and lingo, effortlessly incorporating human slang into his vocabulary. I suppose that is true with some movie designs. Although I believe anything is possible in the world of toy engineering without mass shifting. I wouldnt be suprised if the could even create a proper ROTF Overload that transforms into the robot from the concept art:

With that being said let it be known, I dont hate all statues. I just hate Transformers statues. I do own a $140 statue of my favorite mortal kombat character, Jade. But she isnt a transformer. All she has to do is stand there and look sexy. But I wouldnt have paid $400 or $1500 for her. Thats just ludacris snob yuppie s**t.

Obviously, the only statues that truly make sense to collect, especially if they are articulated "statues" (meaning ultra-deluxe action figures) are BAYVERSE Movie bots. I can't see the point in paying that much for a statue of a fighting game character you can't pose into any other moves or stances than what she's already stuck in but it's your choice and your money. Transformers statues have their fans too. If someone wants an extremely detailed but non-posable represenation of G1 Jazz on their shelf to gaze and admire that's up to them. Some folk just want to have a great looking version of their fave character without the need for it to be a mostly plastic toy that may sacrifice aesthetic qualities for function.

Speaking of human based statues, the advantage is you don't have to deal with ugly joints and such.
In conclusion, each things have their good and bad points. The final say being dictated by tastes, interests, and budjet.

A lot of well made figures cleverly hide joints as best they can though and I'd take a noticable movable joint over a completly overpriced static non-posable version of a character any day but that's my choice. I like paying less for an item that can do much, much more and other folk like paying silly monies for an unposable piece of 'art'.

Posing with both gun and sword - taking on attributes from her first incarnation and some Animated and IDW slants in there, much like the Generations transforming toy - you can see her in a suggested rendition: the page talks about potentially removing some lines from her face, as it's still under licensor (Hasbro) consideration for now. You can check out the image below, and let us know what you think in the Energon Pub discussion boards.

Doesn't look like she could transform (I know it's a statue and thus cannot anyways) but looks like she could be a woman wearing a tight fitting suit than a Transformer. I mean, it's nice I guess but they've definitely changed the humanoid/transforming-robot ratio towards the former.

The sculpting itself is nice but the design is so phoned in. She doesn't look like a Cybertronian, she isn't painted like Arcee, the "underboob" and low-cut "panties" just look ridiculous since she doesn't have boobs or genitals under there, that face is inconsistent with a battle-ready pose and the pose itself is silly anyway. To say nothing of the question of why she looks like a human dressed as some approximation of a Transformer when the other statues in this line look like the Transformers they're supposed to represent, thus mismatching them.
And, honestly? If you want to make a sexy lady statue, make a sexy lady statue. If you want to make a sexualized robot statue, make a statue that looks like a sexualized freaking robot. Sexualizing a robot by redesigning her to look like a sexy lady is the way of cowards.

main complaints i see is that she doesn't look like she could be a transformer, yet that's pretty much been true for her design since 1986.... so..... look back at the 1986 movie and ask yourself "does that look like it could transform?" if your answer is no, then shut up and deal with the statue.

Wow, I might actually get a non transforming Transformer in the near future. This Arcee statue looks amazing! I really love it.
Sure it's not as good cybertronian/transformable but we already have stuff like that. This is more like a hybrid cosplayer. I really like this one.

I know, thank goodness Imaginarium realized this is a statue made for adult collectors and that children won't have to worry about their minds being scarred by icky girl parts!

We have another teaser render from Hasbro licensee Imaginarium Art on their Facebook page, for another of their Transformers statues - and we're featuring another Cybertronian G1-esque reimagining of the grumpiest medic around (in some fiction): Ratchet!
Check out the image below, and you'll be unsurprised to find no crass oversexualisation in the figure this time round, just a fist, a gun, a grin, and a twist at the waist for the dynamic pose, though the absence of colours can't yet tell us if the crest and pattern will be the iconic, expected one. We'll update the story as soon as we have more information or a larger picture, so stay tuned!

This is just another observation and I don't know if anyone else has found the same thing, but it always seems to me like the designs for these statues look way busier before the colors are added. I wonder if that'll hold true for Ratchet too; since he's mainly white the detail might stand out more compared to Imaginarium's other colored statues.

I see some major differences there. Arcee was always shown as a robot with a feminine shape, but that statue is basically just a woman with body paint.

I see some major differences there. Arcee was always shown as a robot with a feminine shape, but that statue is basically just a woman with body paint.

Not to mention, up to this point Imaginarium has been pretty consistently bulking up all of the characters and making them look considerably more robotic than their original designs. If this was how they did all of their statues it would still be weird but would at least be consistent; as it is, they specifically went against their own design conventions, apparently just to make this one particular design way oversexualised.

I'm kinda tired of the term "oversexualised". Because ANYTHING can be "oversexualised." Even a doorknob, if the beholder is pervert enough. By using that term too much for too many little things, the term lose all meanings.
What I can clearly see here and what everyone have a problem with is that she's NOT "oversexualised" (leave that to the Rouge promo-shots). No, she's too HUMANISED. As many point out, she's more a girl in cosplay than robot. To fix this would be pretty "simple". Bulk up her "bikini armor" and backpack. That's it. And then we will have a perfectly show accurate Arcee. The final touch would be to thiccer her up to turn her into a "snu-snu amazon" and make her joints more "robotic" so that she'll fit even better with the rest of the bulked-up imaginarium crew.

The chest is really the biggest departure from her usual designs. For the most part her chest is just a vaguely angular protrusion that gives a silhouette, but not much else since it has to form the front of the car mode. The statue has very clearly shaped breasts that couldn't form any part of a car (though it does bring new meaning to a car bra). If they sculpted the other characters like this they'd all look like men in spandex with tires hanging off them.

Personally I couldn't give a damn, I won't be buying her because statues aren't my thing and I have neither the space nor money. Nice design though. I will say I'd like some more car kibble on her "mecha musume" style, but eh.
As for the "oversexualised" complaints, if this were intended for children I guess I'd understand? But as it's clearly meant for adult collectors I really don't see the problem. And honestly? It's not that extreme. Compared to other statues on the market available for other series it's pretty bloody tame. And really, is a fictional ancient alien robot being depicted as confident and sexually appealing (and clearly with no qualms about being sexually appealing) really that bad a thing?
