The pages feature mostly Power of the Primes products, with Optimus Primal taking most of the space, but accompanied by the likes of Hun-Grrr and the Terrorcons as Abominus, Quintus Prime in his Decoy Suit, Elita-1 and her combiner form Elita Inf1nite, and a small shot of Predaking in his grey prototype mold. Check it all out below!

I know it is supposed to be a call back to original look, but damn if it doesn't make me think of the badly transformed Hasbro product photos we get. Not planning on getting Primal, but if I did/do that photo wouldn't change my mind. Wouldn't see the backpack when I displayed it, and woudlnt really care when I played with it. Still like a little kid when ever I see Abominus as in the back of my head I can hear my inner child throwing "I want" fits.
Yeah pretty sure Abominus isn’t mistransformed. Takara likes to to do little homages to the original toys sometimes in their promotions. Hence why Windrazers wings aren’t folded up and the arms look like bricks and Sinner Twin is backwards. They’ve done stuff like that before with unite Warriors and why the pic of abominus next to it shows him with all his articulation.
But please don’t let me knock you off that high horse you’re on

No reason to expect them to be any different. Hasbro and Takara are sharing toy production, so everythibg should be the same, unless Takara does a special exclusive thats not part of the main toyline release (like Great Shot)

Welcome to the new normal! Hasbro and Takara are "uniting the brand" and will no longer be doing separate decos or tooling for their major retail releases. It started with the The Last Knight movie figures last year and is continuing now with Power of the Primes and the new Studio Series. Hasbro is even releasing later this year Takara's recently announced Anime Color Edition of Masterpiece Prowl. This all is why there aren't separate threads for Hasbro and Takara Tomy versions of Power of the Primes. It's all the same thing now, so all the news on both sides of the Pacific Ocean is lumped into one thread for simplicity.
I do miss the option of having Takara's G1 cartoon color schemes, premium decos, and extra tooling going forward, but at the same time, I think Takara is influencing Hasbro's deco decisions now, so we're getting a compromise of sorts. Also, my wallet is definitely happier getting these toys almost exclusively at domestic retail now.

I believe the Dinobots are all coming out together in Takara's wave 2 of Power of the Primes. Keep in mind, their first wave isn't hitting until May, I think.

Acesmcgee wrote:Not sure, thought they released them all together in the same wave. I easily could be wrong.
That's exactly it, the only difference between Hasbro and TakaraTomy worth noting seems to be assortment-related, in fact there's two:
1) Members of standard Duocon/Combiner Teams are released together in the same wave. Dinobots are all in the same wave, the Terrorcons as well, same goes for the Dreadwing and Battletrap Duocons. "Spares" like Starscream and Jazz are released whenever it fits.
2) Straight retools are omitted from the main retail line, for the most part. Landmine, Bomb-Burst and Tailgate have been skipped, and we can expect the same for Inferno and Novastar. That's not to say they'll be released there at all, it's possible they'll be exclusives.

I assume Lug/Cab can just hang out in the ladder bucket it vehicle mode.
That's... actually not a bad idea.

Well what about this.
Could someone one shapeways make a new neck plate so you could have Inferno's head on one side, and a Titan Master port for Cab on the other?

Doesnt seem is half-assing the whole POTP line?
* shortage of 'Limb-bots"
* Deluxes get a single weapon. ie, Dinos get a sword OR gun, etc...
* Despite numerous examples of what fans come to expect of our getalts (3rd party, Combiner Wars, etc...) we still get weak saue & incopleteness.
* only 4 waves?!
i looks or feels like is just trying to hurry it along,
as if
THEY have become bored
and just cant wait to puke it out ad move on.
i am sorely disappointed.

You forget that CW deluxes only came with one dedicated weapon. The 2nd was the HFG which was just a way to give each figure the Hand/Foot for their limb mode. While (in my Opinion) the prime armour/combiner hands are less 'multi-faceted' than the HFG's, they are ultimately still only there to give the limb modes a hand/fist.
Persoinally I like to use the prime armours as shields or power fists.

Given how quicly they announced it and had a fan poll, it seems they are already looking at War for Cybertron. I'm not annoyed with the Deluxes have 1 weapon, I'm more annoyed with the Voyagers have no weapons, where's Grimlock's sword?

Don't you think they would do some kind of redeco just to squeeze a few more bucks out of the mold? Seems like a waste from a business standpoint.

You'd better believe there will be a "Nemesis Prime" repaint of PotP Optimus Prime at some point in the future, even if it's just a Takara Tomy exclusive figure. Japan can't say no to a black repaint of an Optimus Prime mold.

Why have one when you can have both? Believe me, Takara won't disappoint. Also, I wouldn't put it past Hasbro to do one as an SDCC exclusive, if they again don't do a special edition of the year's Titan Class figure.

Black "Nemesis Prime" or "Scourge" repaints are another thing that came to an end at Hasbro when Warden took over. Yeah, we got one last year at SDCC, but that was only because their deal with Primitive Skate just happened to result in a black Prime. I think the last time we got a real one was the 2014 Legends figure which was probably already planned before he joined despite being a line ending figure (being a simple repaint in a case with another simple repaint). Nemesis Prime and Primal Prime seem pretty unlikely. I'd sooner believe we'll get a metallic Predaking with sword.

Who knows? It's been observed for a while now that there have been plenty of missed opportunities to black repaints that have been missed by Hasbro but still fully taken advantage of by Takara Tomy. There was a time when both companies were doing them in different ways, but now it's all TT. Either Warden doesn't like them or they're just content with us importing from TT. This is the same guy who's official stance on not celebrating Beast War's 20th anniversary was because TT was celebrating it and Hasbro didn't have to celebrate an anniversary on the anniversary (two years later they still haven't celebrated it).
