Incoming! We've got a plethora of images from yizhi521. No longer will we be teased by low quality, dim pictures, we finally have the real deal - an extensive look at Voyager Class Seaspray. Not only do the images showcase Seaspray's aesthetics, dimensions and playability, the photos show off the new Voyager packaging. No longer will packaging be cluttered with words, as biographies and stats will be printed on the side. Also, we're getting a new Voyager Ratchet repaint, Night Ops Ratchet. Check out the massive update below.

Many Decepticons believe that while the Autobots may rule the land, the sea is safe. Those Decepticons have never met Sea Spray. Crankstart thinks he's safe hidden on a remote Africa shore, but he's about to get the worst shock of his life. Sea Spray will come screaming out of the surf, turning the beach into a blasted wasteland with nowhere to hide.

As if the samurai look on Bludgon wasnt silly enough, now we have a scuba diver. He's a robot for crying out loud he doesnt need a mask to breathe or fins to swim in the water !!!

This toy is love.

I'm beginning to think he's supposed to be a Classics style figure.

You sir, have no soul. :P

Why not give him different features? They don't all have to have human-like faces.

"most scout class vehicles fit inside!"

I would have been fine with legends fitting inside, isn't this guy going to be huge?

"Crankstart" is a Model-T/antique car, calling it right now. just look at the name! most "versus" bios are of the same class, though; will we get a giant Model-T, or a scout class that can fit inside the back?

Seaspray looks awesome!

Very cool. Glad to see he's not an Ultra class like was previously rumoured. Even Ratchet looks pretty cool, though I don't know if I can warrant purchasing another one of that mold, maybe when we see more. I'm also interested in this Crankstart and am surprised that he wasn't the character featured on the "Also available" on his box, considering it's supposed to be his enemy and encourage buyers to get them both. Here's hoping for another boat! (I love boatformers and trainformers)

They're the same, the dark color make some of the detail hard to make out. He still has the same ankle kibble.

He looks like so much fun! I think this is an automatic buy for me... don't think I can hold out and wait for the inevitable G1 paint redeco. :D
Re: Extensive Look at Voyager Sea Spray (1042896)
Posted by Doctor McGrath on February 2nd, 2010 @ 12:06am CST
Awesome, this figure is a total win. Both modes are solid and I love the scuba mask. Maybe it keeps the water flowing around him, like an aqua man thing. Sort of explains why when he talks it sounds like he is gargling water in the G1 cartoon. :-?

I'm glad the scuba fins fold in and out and I am excited to see what Crankstart looks like. Glad to see they kept the rivalry theme going. :APPLAUSE:

Check the pictures again brother. That's as G1 as it's going to get. Every color on the alt mode is where it's supposed to be. Change the bright yellow to something more mettalic, like gold, and there you go. I was skeptical from the teaser photos, but this is 100% win. I can't wait. :APPLAUSE:
Re: Extensive Look at Voyager Sea Spray (1042903)

Yep, I agree with everyone else, this figure looks awesome! His alt mode is badass (I like the textured blue plastic) and I love the wackiness of it (Why DOES he need a scuba mask? ). Great looking figure! Looks like there won't be any downtime for my wallet anytime soon...

Nifty. The alt mode's especially nice, considering how few sea craft the line's ever gotten.

Also, anyone notice how every single character in the ROTF line, especially homages to original characters, are now gun-toting monsters of Decepticon destruction? Call me crazy, but I missed some effort into a semblance of personality :\
Re: Extensive Look at Voyager Sea Spray (1042915)
Posted by emeraldbeacon on February 2nd, 2010 @ 1:39am CST
I do appreciate the blockier look we've been seeing from recent toys, starting to blend the movie aesthetic with that of Classics and Universe. I suppose this seems to be the particular direction the toyline will move in, at least until we get a solid new cartoon to provide a different 'look' for Transformers (like Animated did, for a little while). like Bludgeon, Mindwipe, and several other upcoming releases 'Sea Spray' looks like he'll fit in with (or at least, not look entirely WRONG with) either your Movie/ROTF or Classics/Universe collections - and that's just fine with me.

What? Wanted him to come with a Rubber Ducky?

If you put Sea Spray on roids his weapons are going to go on some too. And they're not that really WMD's, they're harpoons. And what's wrong with gun-toting monsters of Decepticon destruction? This is Autobots vs. Decepticons, not Transformers tea party.

I'M LOVING THIS!

not only is it an updated sea spray but the box is great too!

i like the fact that the photoshoped pictures on the back are bigger than the toy it self!
:D

This toi iz teh secks!

Nothing but pure, unadulterated win. Fantastic idea to give him fins! Even robots can use fins, and they would make steering underwater easier if he used his jets. The mask is brilliance.

Anyone else seeing a blue, purple, and silver repaint named Depth Charge? :???:

Although Depth Charge should really be reserved for the next Transformers Submarine...

This, like Bludgeon looks like a left over from Classics Universe - very cool, abit of a shame he's not closer to his signature colours but he still looks neat.

That bronze plastic reminds me of the late G1 Euro Transformers.

Do we know who the mentioned Decepticon in the bio is?

Not as of yet. He's a brand new name in the Transformers Continuity. From the sound of his name he's going to be some sort of Roadster.

I just do not like this guy at all. I can't even try to like him...

Uh, cool - Decepticon cars are always welcome. Hopefully he's a bit usual, like a vintage car as some have mentioned.

Also, I'm awaiting the inevitable photos of Seaspray in the bath tub... You all know you want to know if he floats and won't be able to resist.

Is it wrong of me to want him to sink like a rock and stay at the bottom? Because I can't help it. lol

Oh and I forgot to address the packaging. UG-A-LEE. I just can't stand that yellow, plus the shape of the box just looks goofy. On the plus side, however...I do like the placement of the bios and cross sells now, and I do hope they continue to package the Voyagers in robot mode. I love that style of packaging. Plus it should give more shelf space for more product.

Good pics make all the difference on this guy! He looks much more interesting to me now. Fins, mask, harpoons? That's pretty fun stuff. I think it's odd how much his bio makes him sound like a Decepticon though.

There's a lot to like but plenty of bits that I don't too. While I really like the "swimming" poses on the stand, seeing him standing upright ain't so great-his lower legs and feet are kind of awkward. And I wonder about the long term durability of the hinge points for the fan motors.

This will be one of those figures I'll have to see for myself to decide whether to buy or not.
Re: Extensive Look at Voyager Sea Spray (1043014)
Posted by Counterpunch on February 2nd, 2010 @ 7:40am CST
Credit where credit is due. The figure looks worlds better in proper light.

That being said, if they are branching out the movie design look into their Classics, it needs to stop now.

Faction symbols should have their proper colorings and these open hand designs have got to go. I don't mind the look of the open hands so much, but the functionality is pretty poor.

I generally agree with all your points there CP.

Re: Extensive Look at Voyager Sea Spray (1043020)
Posted by --B-- on February 2nd, 2010 @ 7:51am CST
Something must be wrong with me, cause I am gonna pass on this just like I passed on Bludgeon.

It just doesn't fit in with the classics look, IMHO.

Like CP said with the movie look blended in it just looks off.

The open hands, the goofy face and the flipper feet, I just don't care for it.

Vehicle mode is sweet, but I can't justify a $25 hovercraft taking up a bunch of space on my already crowed display. To add him in I would have to get rid of some other stuff.
Re: Extensive Look at Voyager Sea Spray (1043026)
Posted by Diem on February 2nd, 2010 @ 7:56am CST
If movie line scouts fit on him, then maybe with a bit of a squeeze 1984 Autobot cars could fit on him too...hmmmmm

I love pretty much everything about this figure: the mold, the alt mode, the bot mode, the paint job, the G1 homage, everything. I'm really excited about the direction they seem to be going with the figures in 2010 (including this, Bludgeon, Brawn, Combiners, etc.)

The mask and feet remind me of TFA...in a good way, and He definitely looks like he can go with the Classics figures...a must have in my book.

Seibertron gave credit to wrong people
all pictures taken by Yizhi521.He uploaded all pictures to tinypic and post image links at tfw2005.
the-arker grab pictures and watermarks and made their own gallery.sure the-arker gave credit to 蛤蟆数码,but people can't read Chinese don't know 蛤蟆数码=yizhi521,then seibertron and allspark think the-arker is the one who provide first image gallery of SeaSpray.

Nice! I look forward for this guy :APPLAUSE:

But is he Universe? His box is the same style as the new movie Bumblebee and the Ratchet they show is clearly the movie's voyager Ratchet. However, the TF writing, Autobot symbol, and his general aesthetic is clearly not.

Very cool! This guy improves on what they did with Powerglide (turning a dinky G1 character into a huge Classics figure)--no breasts this time!
