The review compares it to Rattrap, a core class figure (what you used to call Legends class) within the same line, as well as Masterpiece Cheetor. We see that they are going for a more realistic animal look rather than a cartoon model. Speaking of the comparison, the back legs in cheetah mode look even cleaner on this new version, at the cost of rather odd looking robot mode legs of course. Still, it's nice to know that the robot's feet have a place to mostly tuck into in cheetah mode. Below we included the review as well as screenshots. The Blackarachnia review should be next to stay tuned.

They all seem to have, to my American ears, an English accent. Are they expats living in Hong Kong or China or wherever the factories are?
Typically when person learns a language they pick up the accent of their teacher. A lot of places in Asia like Hong Kong and India were under British rule or influence at some point so they tend to have slightly more British accents than places that might have had a strong American presence like Vietnam (where Hasbro's factories are). But I think the factory workers simply know who to reach out to to buy their stuff without having to resort to eBay which leaves a trail. The reviewers can basically be anywhere in the world.

Shame Cyberverse didnt get a better Cheetor as it would probably have been a better alternative.

Not exactly a good idea for the Beast Wars guys who haven't had updates in years.

They look a little too simplified, IMO.
Still, I suppose it could be worse.
Speaking of which, I like your profile picture.

He's not simple, he just integrated his alt mode into his bot mode - he hasn't got an entire car taped to his back, like you're used to

If BW doesn't do well, Hasbro can always sideline them again.

Agreement, while, I don't like the shoulder design of rattrap, I still think he looks amazing, along with all the deluxes shown so far, I can't wait to get them all

I dunno if I'll get the Beast Wars guys. I might. At least this one looks good.

While I personally can't speak for anyone else, For starters I'd would've liked the tail to be articulated, It wouldn't take much, Just a couple of small joints (Maybe even bendy plastic like T30 Rattrap).
Also, I don't like how the kibble above the shoulders is sharply curved , It highlights the hollowness of the panel,
Making it look like a shellformer (I know this is a element of Cheetor's design, I just wish it was more flattened, Like the MP).
They're only small nitpicks, And other than that I don't really have any complaints, Certainly none that'll stop me from buying him.

Believe it or not, more people in Asian countries know English than you’d think. I learned that one when I was deployed to Korea, I could hold a small conversation with most Koreans when I was there. But then again it could’ve just been region specific.

On another note, have there been any rumors of a Tarantulas figure? If there is one, it'd have to be either a new mold or very extensive retool of Blackarachnia. They can't get away with doing the same mold with two different color schemes this time like they did with the originals (though it'd be cool to see that as a Selects release like Cordon and Spinout).

This is what I'm hoping for, because the deco is my main problem with this Cheetor. Hopefully the Netflix Cheetor will use a darker blue and will add some gold paint on his arms and maybe his thighs.
My only other issue with Cheetor is how his shoulders sit a bit farther back on his body than normal, other than that he looks great. It even improves on the MP in some ways, like using the actual cheetah head in robot mode and basically the entire beast mode. That glorious cheetah mode...
Super excited for the Blackarachnia review.

It shouldn't be that odd to anyone that Hasbro and Takara Tomy went this route with the beasts either. They essentially have done the same with the vehicle/machine based Transformers in this line too. That's why we've got a licensed VW mode for the upcoming Netflix Bumblebee and not a squat little penny-racer version like the original toy and cartoon model. Same goes for Cliffjumper being a proper sports car, not a super-deformed, squat little toy car. We've got realistic vehicle modes and (relatively) screen accurate robot modes with added sculpted detail to make them feel more "alive" and less cartoonish.

I concur. I'd rather Kingdom Cheetor have had a little more paint detail, especially the gold highlights. A bit more blue, of the right hue, would also do. Here's hoping the Netflix version will come through!

Wolfman Jake wrote:I also really appreciate that Hasbro and Takara Tomy are going for more realistic looking animal modes for Kingdom. They look much cooler that way, and probably more appealing to more casual fans on store shelves. The CGI models from the original cartoon look, well...cartoonish. It's a different style, but it can be off putting if didn't grow up with the original cartoon.

You know, I hadn't considered that possibility about why they had made the animal modes more realistic

Otaku-mus Prime wrote:There seem to be a lot of complaints about Cheetor. I would have thought Beast Wars fans would be ecstatic for this. I never got into BW, but even I am impressed by this figure. Perhaps these are geared more toward G1 fans, like myself, to expand the BW fan base. Beast mode - realistic, yet well-articulated. Robot mode - badass and super posable. I guess since G1 and BW are sharing a line, they should share a similar esthetic.
If BW doesn't do well, Hasbro can always sideline them again.
I feel the same way. Maybe i don't have much say in this either since i watched some of BW but not all of the series. I did like the ones i watched, but the toys IMO, with the exception of Megatron...incidentally is the only other version that suits him other than the gun to me.....were shite...
..but I'm really digging cheetor myself. A definite buy for me. I can't wait to see what Megatron is going to look lije...

Real cheetahs always have battle damage, don't you know? Those black spots are all scorch marks!

Or more organic battle damage, like revealing flesh wounds with blood, or hanging guts.
....my god, why did i even think that.

...Come on, someone had to say it.
Yes, I'd prefer a gun, but in the interest of keeping the cheetah mode from being too bulky, I can live with them omitting it, and the tail whip looks enough like his Transmetal weapon that I'm comfotrable saying "good enough". Plus I'm thrilled that they're returning to the "hidden weapon" style for the BW guys rather than the "just plug it on wherever" method we've seen for most G1-based figures since Combiner Wars. Peg holes would NOT look right on an organic beast mode.

You just know that if not for the brand unification Takara would have so given her orange spider legs.

I'm not as thrilled with Cheetor, though. I feel he needs a bit more blue, like I'm sure I'd have liked him a lot more if that inner abdomen piece was blue. Not happy with the choice of weapon either. And the missing kibble on the arms, specially given how big that shoulder kibble ends up being.
Oh well, two excellent looking toys and one mediocre one out of three is still a very good outcome. Can't wait to see the rest of the cast and the official reveals.
By the way, I'm sure TonTon must be a factory worker who pockets some early samples. No idea about PrimevsPrime, since he's british, but he's got enough viewers that he might be buying them off some subscriber who steals from the factory too.

We also have what could be our first glimpse at the Titan Class ark toy that will be released in the Kingdom line. We see it in ark mode and we see Teklatraan 1. The image comes from Marco Madrys.
We thank fellow seibertronians Wonko-the-sane, Sabrblade, Dominus Prime and Sol magnus for informing us of these two awesome pieces of news.

based on the standard face of the Blackarachnia/Tarantulas mold that was never used in media, since the show gave Tarantulas the mutant head and made up a new head for Blackarachnia:

Conversely, the Ark will need to be INCREDIBLE for me to get it. At this poiint I've accepted that it won't be Animated Omega, so hey, at least the $150 that would have gone to the titan can go to the Beast Warriors
