I'm still waiting for an encore Blitzwing though.

OH, and HAHA, take that to the KO companies and their suporters!
Now with this in mind, I recall an argument awile back saying Takara would never due a Devistator reissue because of the various KOs out there. Well if this doesn't put a dent in that argument, I don't know what will?
The Seekers are looking pretty good too

Waits for confirmation of that!
Anyone think the rest of the bases are gonna get some Encore love, I still need a Scorponok, and would hate to shell out $250 on Ebay just to have him reissued for $100.

Anything is possible, although I hope they do not go to Metrotitan... I'm greedy like that.

That actually is kinda greedy. Metrotitan being a general release figure and all...
I'm all for exclusives staying exclusive, otherwise, I'm a populist.

Totally seconded on Scorponok. (I'm too tired to kick myself for getting a vintage Metroplex). But when that happens, I'll be kvetching for a Black Zarak.

I was hours away from ordering a C8 G1 Metroplex from Transformerland.com...and now THIS. The encore line is single-handedly giving me all the G1 TFs I've never had the chance to buy before!
Preordered tonight!

I can actualy sypathize with that. I got 2 vintage Omegas figuring he'd never come back and look what happened. Add the sheer rarity of MetroTitan to that and ouch!!!!!!
I'm all for non-KO reissues. I love the fact that so many fans are getting a second chance at ownership and newer fans are getting to see these intial bots and understand the roots of why we love these things so much
But something vintage, that's very rare, that you struggled to find and payed a fortune for...
Well, bragging rights aren't deminished, if anything, you get a whole new clip of "OH YEAH..." to fire off!
Just on a personal level, I know how it just kinda lessens the figure in your case to you, cause now everyones got it.
Lots of figures have gone that way, take the shine that left MP StarScream as soon as you picked up your G1 colored version...

It probably is not outside of the realm of possibility now. Although I want to see Grand Maximus, I mean why not throw all the crazy stuff he came with together in one great re-issue.
And then I can also see the point of people wanting that one to stay a rarity.
And I am sure the Stepper owners through a bit of a fit, as well as, Soundblaster, and Twincast owners, when they were announced. And from all of those I benefited because I did not own them yet. It's just hard, now I wish I would have kept Metrotitan MISB..must invent a time machine now.

That's where I bought mine. The ones in stock now are technically a higher grade than the one I bought.
Also, here's a point of speculation -
Will the reissue have rubber tires and chrome or just plastic?

Chrome and rubber.
Takara has not once skimped out on a reissue with the cheaper arangement.
Kup had metal feet, Predaking was metal, etc.

Would Fortress Maximus actually sell? I don't know about you guys but due to many years of frantic toy-gathering I don't have room for another Max-sized figure in here. Takara would never be able to produce it for less than $150 or so (Brave Max was Y12000 -$115- if memory serves, and that was 8 years ago with all the accessories stripped out), and add shipping to that... it's a lot of dough and they'll have to shift thousands of units to make the run worthwhile. Mind you, if they think there's a market I say chuck 'em out in every colour they fancy.

Either way, I can't wait. I LOVE city-bots, and Metroplex is no exception. He'll look great with my Scramble City figures (at least definitely with my original Hot Spot and Motormaster, not sure how great the KO Onslaught and Silverbolt'll look next to him). I'm glad I didn't get the KO, I don't know if I could live with myself if I got a KO of a big figure like this, whether he'd be reissued or not. I don't mind the Scramble City combiners being KO'd, but Scramble City itself, no good.
So anyway. Encore has not yet been a disappointment!
(Also, I GUESS Thundercracker and Skywarp are good, too )

I wander if they'll ever do a MP Metroplex. that could be really sweet. but having an encore Metroples is definitely a real treat so i might just buy this big guy.

Hey cool that means I guess you could get bragging rights owning the original cheaper plastic wheel/silver leg sticker variant
seriously though this is awesome i'm hoping for an encore Trypticon to go with my original g1 metroplex.
AND FINALLY a chance to own Thundercracker i missed him the first time round in the hasbro reissues, now i will be able to own all three season 1 seekers! woo!

By this rate I bet they'll have more unbelievable surprises to be announced any time, and it's proven: they can do/rebuild any mold and will do it. As for me I feel stupid to have the Hasbro reissues for Skywarp and Thundercracker... and please please please do a Shockwave reissue!! And a Wheeljack! And a Mirage! And decepticon cassettes package! And and and...

A friend of mine found a fantastic condition Metroplex (w/ rubber tires) at a Goodwill a couple years ago and gave it to me. I've used ebay to get most of the accessories. But a minty fresh one complete!? This can't get any cooler!
I got the Encore Sky Lynx. I will be getting Encore Omega Supreme. And I will definitely be getting Encore Metroplex! Oh and I'll be getting the Encore Minibot set too. I picked up the Hasbro Skywarp & Thundercracker reissues years ago. I'm happy with those.

Devastator! I'll eat my KO Devastator piece by piece if they reissue the whole set lol
How about the dinobots? "Me Grimlock say good choice"
Well, why not the whole G1 line? Now that would f'n rock .

That's because TakaraTomy's coming up with shit that people would actually want. This is an example of what I'm talking about. Though I (as someone who would like headmasters for my collection in general) am with those who would like to see Fort Max reissued (cause it was confirmed clear back when Armada's Unicron was announced that it might never happen here in the states), I'd consider picking up a Metroplex as well. Never had one myself but I remember knowing someone who did back then, and I liked that figure.
Only reason why I'm passing on the seeker 2-pack is because seekers are always either repaints or retools of Starscream, and that gets redundant after awhile with most figures. (I'd reconsider for Thrust, as I've kinda been wanting one since Botcon '07, but no need for me to pick this one up.) Good news for those who are collecting the seekers, though.

Flux Convoy wrote:Impressive. I'm curious what the extra touches for these Encores will be. From #5 on there've been extras of sorts. Ironhide and ratchet had their "heads", Sky Lynx has painted eyes on the Lynx and grey mouth gun for the "bird". Jazz/Meister is tampoed, not stickered. I'm dying to know what treatment these will get. I already have a great vintage Chrome hips/rubber wheels Metroplex who needs Reprolabels but I'll take a reissue in a heartbeat. Same goes for replacing my Hasbro reissue TC and SW.
They could throw in Metrobomb, who was only available with the Metrotitan repaint.

You know the Scramble City Combiner limbs can attach to Metroplex right. I don't know if the KOs are the same size, but my Metroplex often teams with the ArealBots for a flight mode.
Just take off the knee caps, and shoulder cannons and the prots are right there
Lots of reasons why I always loved G1 Metroplex! I'm glad he's getting a quality reissue, I already have 2 though so it's a pass, but I'm still happy for everyone else

I think that the seekers are the most nostalgic of all the G1 figures. I dont know why but looking at all those very similar designs ( genius marketing ploy that ) takes me straight back in time.
Metroplex is a welcome addition. If Encore carries on like this I will have to sell some of my modern collection to make room for all the G1 goodness!!

It sounds brilliant.
And just a thought on who's next, they used the Trypticon mold a few years back for Gigastorm so I'm betting that they are keeping it handy for an Encore Trypticon near Christmas.
... He is Metroplex's rival after all.
There's still a hell of alot of G1 deluxe's we've not seen reissued, Trailbreaker, Spinger and Sandstorm could you please stand up.
