An interesting auction has popped up on eBay. This auction is for two unreleased Optimus Prime Busts. One is a bust of Protoform Optimus Prime and the other is Movie Optimus Prime. Both stand about 8 inches and appear to be unfinished.

I'm thinking they will get a release, he most likely has the prototypes and wants to sell them big by calling them "Never to be released!"King Henrik wrote:im actually quite surprised these aren't being released...seems we got every other type of item imaginable for this movie...even real cars! so why not busts and statues? anyway the regular pime looks cool but the protoform looks wierd...

probably these arent the originals, rather these are re-molds of the originals.... and this guy happened to be the one who knew someone who had the originals and probably made a bunch of resin casts of the originals. thats why he gives you the option of a painted or unpainted, cause he has a few. he's pretty good at painting, as seen from the pic.... maybe he works at a hobby shop or an actual sfx studio.... whatever the case, i have a feeling that these arent legit.... if he had painted and unpainted versions, wouldnt you think they would be in two separate listings? just my 2.

I figure it's just to keep in style with the rest of the figures design, the more traditional head wouldn't look right on ProtoPrime.
Also look at it from the movies point of view, parts of the vehicles make up the bots including the heads. IE, BB having a oil cap for a mouth, and parts of Prime's head transforming in his inital TF scene.
I'm figuring it was just a side effect of incorporating new alt modes.
