Havent opened it yet as I am still undecided. Plus its so damn big I cant really put it anywhere until I finish my basement.
I figure I can always return it if I change my mind.

HasBLO should have brought us Jetwing Optimus Prime in the States, because, you know, that version ACTUALLY APPEARED IN THE FRAKKIN' MOVIE.
Stupid bugbot piece of crap. Oh well.

Yeah cause, there's absolutely no way that Hasbro can ever even hope to release him release Jetwing Prime. Ever.

I Agree with user897,The DOTM Ultimate optimus prime is a horrible toy.
I don't speak from on-line pics experience. I speak from a point of view of actually owning the toy then returning it.
I Bought the Dotm ultimate optimus prime toy on-line a month+ago when walmart.com first put it up for sale on their web site.
I transformed the toy for a few hours, played with all the parts & so forth.
Lucklily I was able to print out a Receipt from Walmart.com. then I was able to return the DOTM ultimate optime prime toy at my nearest walmart store for a 100% refund & get my money back. I certainly wasn't going to be stuck with this & be out $67+dollars.
the thing I hated/loathed most about this toy was the awful over sized beyond huge mech tech weapon. it's too be,heavy & further ruins the look of a already horrible toy.
second the robot head is too tiny & looks even more tiny in combined robot+trailer super robot mode.
third,if your looking for a new age decently poseable super robot mode, then this toy fails on all accounts.
fourth, this thing reminds me of armada leader sized optimus prime who wears a brick for pants.
FIFTH,All the extra doo dads & whatever further ruin this toy. why exactly did the toy need 2 yellow things next to each side of the robot head. is he picking up satelight tv/radio.
Sixth, again the mech tech weapon doesn't store properly on to the robot back pack. thanks to the weapon being too heavy & all the connector ports being to weak/loose.
Seventh,IMHO,Only get this toy if you want to throw out/storage the trailer & display the toy in smaller $27 usa ultra sized robot mode. as the smaller robot mode is leaps & bounds better than the 2007 voyager & HFTD 2009 Voyager sized optimus prime toy. Honestly this is the best smaller sized movie verse optimus prime toy if you don't like leader sized toys.
Personally, this toy is epic failure as it's got so many negatives & very few positives. to make matters worse, this super robot mode wasn't even featured in the DOTM Movie.
Why exactly did hasbro give us this brick piece a thrash instead of the DA-15 Jetwing optimus prime toy. Jetwing was featured in the DOTM Movie.
I trully hope & pray hasbro releases the takara DA-15 dotm jetwing optimus prime as a Toys R Us store exclusive.

Look at all the repaints we get of figures, game based figures, non-transforming vehicles modes, ever buy any of those? Yes, Ultimate OP is a brick but it's a kickass brick and like all figures it's not perfect. I felt like a kid again when I got mine this week and I'll feel the same way if JetWing OP ever has a USA release. Look at the gallery here on this site and others, it will grow on you. It is definitely a great add to my collection, especially the OP subgroup.
Some only buy the TF toys that appeared in the cartoon or movie.
Usually most of the time non-movie/non-cartoon TF toys stand a greater chance of warming shelfs/pegs more.
Usually the cartoon/movie TF toys have a better track record of selling better on the secondary market.
Sure their are some exceptions for some non-cartoon/non-movie toys selling decent & be worth decent money on the secondary market. but the majority of the the,the TF toys on the cartoon/movie sell out faster in stores & do better on the secondary market.

IMHO,if one dislikes/loathes armada leader sized brick pants optimus Prime. then one most likely won't be a fan of this dotm ultimate brick pants optimus prime.
IMHO,If your a fan of the new age super poseable transformers. and noth that much of a fan of the brick formers. Then personally this dotm ultimate optimus toy most likely isn't for you.

What are you babbling about? Armada Prime is awesome.
He might be a brick and a homage to Star Convoy, but he's an awesome figure.
I will defend all AEC figures from scrutiny!

I never saw the armada leader sized optimus toy resemblence to starsconvoy.
Starconvoy had a one piece transformation. armada leader sized optimus needs for the truck cab/bot to combine with the trailer to form the super robot mode.
I did notice that the golden cross like thing on Animated voyager optimus prime looked similar to starconvoy's golden cross on his robot chest.
I also noticed that animated leader sized Megatron was kinda a loose homage based off the art designs battle stars 1991 super megatron. most noteable in the robot head sculpt & some other design sculpt areas.

I LOVE Armada Superbase Optimus Prime. I even went to the trouble of pulling him out of storage, along with Jetfire and Overload. Hells yeah. I love the way they all combine and the auto transforming base.
Sheeeit yeah.

The reason why that toy above looks decently colored is because it's the takara version.
The Hasbro armada leader/super sized optimus prime toy. was colored much awful/horrible. as hasbro chose awful yellow instead of the high grade takara gold highlight colors.

While I dislike this armada leader optimus prime toy. I did own it years ago but sold it.
If I had to chose a favorite color scheme on this mold. It's the Armada powerlinx battles leader sized optimus prime toy mold. here's pics below: http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Image:Powelinx_Armadaprime.jpg

Just caue the 2 figures have different transformations doesn't mean they don't have a resemblance. At least to me, it seems like the design for super mode was heavily influenced by Star Convoy.
Now if I can only get those Oreo cookie minicons that came with the Takara Prime.

After some further research,I admit I must have got a bit confused.
your correct, armada super sized optimus prime does have gold highlights & not yellow.

I'd like a 3rd party company to build a jetwing armor parts for the ultra sized robot that comes with the dotm ultimate optimus prime toy.
the jetwing parts could form a wing backpack, forearms, boots, chest plate & new head. maybe even shoulder canons, new weapons

The one huge disappointment is the fact that there are no mechtech weapons for Optimus' regular robot mode. Is there anyone out there that would be willing to part ways with a Voyager Optimus rifle and/or a Fireburst Optimus axe for a fair price? I'm simply not going to buy those just to get the weapons, but I'd love to have the weapons themselves.

The chances of buying those weapons at a fair price are next to none. People are returning figures just to get the weapon for free. You'll either have to pay for the figures to get the accessories, or order the Corbot V War Axe (or whatever the heck it's called) from BBTS.
The accessories will become cheaper once the line dies out. People will start selling the figures and accessories in time. That's one of your only other options.

When I want a figure's weapons but dislike the figure and can't find the weapons individually, I look at pictures of the figure (or the thing itself) until I like it, then go out and buy it.

While the robot mode may only be a half homage to Star Convoy, the vehicle mode is 100% Star Convoy down to the treaded trailer. Armada Prime pulls the Overload unit which seats Jetfire. Star Convoy pulls Grandus which seats Galaxy Shuttle.
Star Convoy and Grandus combine in base mode, so do Armada Prime and Overload.
