I feel you. The head is not win. Hopefully with all the new heads being offered by various 3rd parties, will get some G1 inspired heads and accessories for these Wreckers. I would absolutely pick them up. I'm such a sucker for 3rd party stuff.

Actually I prefer even these head styles to the majority of G1 heads (part of the reason I've grown out of G1 itself bar a couple characters and figures). I think this figure looks fantastic and the Dark of the Moon range as a whole the best TF line for the last couple of years. Generations has so far only produced three, maybe four at a stretch, figures that I like whereas I'm worried I won't be able to afford even half of the DotM figures I want.

Really? Well I'm glad some fans like the new Bayverse styled Bots and Cons. After all, this chapter will hopefully keep the brand in existance. But I have to ask, why? What makes this style Transformer so appealing. I'm truly not trying to be a troll, I just don't get it. Also, by "grown out of G1", is that because it has become stagnant to you? I understand several younger fans don't care for the oldschool stuff, is that where you're coming from? I hope I'm not coming off as an ass, I truly want to understand.

Why is it so confusing and bewildering that people like the Movieverse look? It's the same reason you like one color better than another and the same reason why you don't like the Movieverse look. Personal taste. That's it. It shouldn't be so weird that people like this stuff. Some people like change when it comes to them, others prefer to stay with the Geewunnish style that they grew up with and don't like radical differences in the TF look. It shouldn't be weird that people prefer this style over G1 either. I'm one of those people. I mean, everyone cries sacrilege if I say I like Bayverse over G1. Some people in fact like constant change, and to them being consistent with change is what makes improvement.
You see what I'm getting at?

You see, this is what I get for asking. Again, I am only looking for an answer. Not a defense. I can only assume that you like the more alien styling because it was more realistic. That alien robots from millions of years ago would not likely resemble humans. Or perhaps the shear complexity of the designs and the marvel of SO many moving parts. Ofcourse I am only guessing because anytime I ask, "well what do you like about this figure?" I get some whiny line about "why don't people just leave us alone?" I wasn't into to Beast Wars for the longest time, until someone on this website clued me in to some of the more intriguing aspects of the story, so I checked out a couple of episodes, and now I'm a huge fan (except for Cheetor, he sucks). See what I mean?

I think I misunderstood your tone and intent to some extent. But asking what makes you like the look of something is like asking me "Why is blue your favorite color?" It just is. It's because I'm naturally attracted to that color. Or asking a guy "Why do you think Megan Fox is attractive?" You don't have to have a detailed reason to like something. Again, it's all about taste. The moving parts and the detail can be a reason as to why someone likes the designs, but you can't force someone to give you a specific reason. It's not rocket science. Really, it's not. I'm not trying to be rude.
And I can agree that Cheetor sucks. He wouldn't be warehouse-warming on HasbroToyShop if he didn't.

I appreciate your explanation, but I just don't see the mystery. I like Fansproject Magnus because of the large blocking shapes. I imagine it being the huge slabs of armor that would be required to survive a million year old war. I like Animated figures because as an artist, I love traditional 2d animation and have a specific fondness of hands, which are wonderfully stylized in that series. I like Beast Wars because of the slightly more serious tone it takes on with the lack of silly human characters. I like WFC because of the aggressively serious mood it sets throughout the game and the sharp angles of the character designs. It goes on, the point being I know what I like and why.
After all that being said, I have learned alot about this massive story by asking questions. Hell, have you ever heard of the saga between the real and fake Galvatron's? I hadn't, until someone told me about how in depth his persona had been explored. I'm curious and yet, have not had a direct THIS IS WHAT I LIKE ABOUT IT: Thank you for at least discussing this with me. Believe it or not, I have a decent collection of movie figures, own both movies, and plan on plan on buying more.
