Not sure about Swoop, but the problem with Slag is that in British slang, Slag means slut. No, seriously. And Slapper means the same thing.
Makes me wonder if that's why Furman seemed more intent on killing him off than the other Dinobots at the end of the Marvel run.

They suck.
I mean, I love them and all. Still, it's kind of like having an ugly stupid child and how you still have to love them despite how ugly and stupid they are.
Can you believe I don't need a permit or something to breed?

Ha. I'd heard they were bad but they'll work for PCC Grimstone and his buds. Besides, I could only hope your kids would look like wifey and have your biting sarcasm. Sounds like a good deal to me man.

I'm as biased as hell when it comes to Dinosaurs and other prehistoric aninals, but even I have to admit the Swoop mold is the worst of the three. That won't stop me from getting them though, they'll make nice opponent for my Micron Booster Gnashteeth (T-Rex), Ironlunge (Triceratops) and Reptix (Pteranodon), who are all . As for names, no trademark issues here, Hasbro is just using them to reclaim some older ones... yawn. Besides, Gnashteeth is a blatant BW Megatron homage, but is he called as such? No.

If there was a license for breeding, yours would have been revoked quicker than Fireflight's pilot license

Maybe, but posting videos of me in action has done wonders for my YouTube subscriptions.

I teach for a living. Thoughts like this run through my head at least once per class period about some kid's parents.

And that makes "slag" apparently meaning "s#!t" by the time of Beast Wars even more confusing. Was the popular theory that Slag just named himself 'S#!t' all along? I always liked the more interesting theory that at some point at some point after where the G1 cartoons or comics left off, he won the war for the Autobots, but did so by committing an atrocity dubbed so horrific by both sides that it scared everyone into signing the Pax-Cybertronia, and his name became a curse word forever after.
(Yes, I know that would mean he somehow survived The Swarm at the end of comic continuity)
But since I learned the other meaning of slag and put it together with my previous theory, I get this uneasy feeling that said atrocity was at least partly a sex crime.
Man, this hobby gets depressing sometimes.

slag has always been the cast off from the ore smelting process, making it a perfect stand-in for human/robot waste. as for it's other uses, well... when has any British content been deemed canon? why should it start with this?

Youre supposed to be Hasbro, you created the character's name 25 years ago so use it proudly !!!
Someone's a Spastic... And it wasn't "created" by Hasbro, slag is an actual word. Blame the UK (again) for a adding negative definition.

It also, simply helps to pay attention to the rest of the discussion instead of coming up with wild and fairly absurd theories. Call me crazy.
