I'm liking that steelbook (accidentally typed steelbane first) one if only cos it's got other characters who aren't Optimus Prime on it along with him too. :P

Via the official Industrial Light & Magic site (ILM), we have a new reel of concept art for characters and key frames from Transformers: The Last Knight (but also some concepts from Dark of the Moon, and the first live action movie) as visualised by artists Brett Northcutt, Ryan Church, Luis Guggenberger, Thang Le, Bianca Draghici, Tyler Scarlet. The shots feature the presence on Earth of Cybertron - no spoilers, just as seen in the trailers - Quintessa's character, Drift, and WWI vehicle Bulldog. Check them out mirrored below!

This one really amuses me for some reason. I like the idea that some Transformers try to emulate human features so much they go as far as chunky eyebrows. Like the Autobot insignia on the cap too.

Via his official Facebook page, composer Steve Jablosnky brings us news of a talk and Q&A session about composing scores for Transformers: The Last Knight, taking place at the Creature Features store in LA on July 30th! The event will be selling the LA-LA-Land records CD, and holding a signing too. Check out more info below.

If you happen to be in LA on July 30 I'll be hanging out at this awesome store. Please come say hi! All of you guys and gals listening to my music is what inspires me every day and gives my job meaning, so please stop by so I can thank you in person.

If you've already ordered the CD you do NOT have to buy another copy at the store! I look forward to meeting you!

Not directly related to the film itself, but definitely happening while Brazil was waiting for Transformers: The Last Knight (where it premiered on 11 July), fellow Seibertronian TulioDude sent along some footage and images of the Transformers Animatronics exhibition featuring characters from the live-action movie series, taking place in Ribeirao Preto until the end of July!

Featuring the likes of Drift, Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Jetfire, Grimlock, Scorn, Ironhide, Hound, and more, such as weapons, props and accessories, you can check out several images below, and videos of the animated statues at the event - if you're in the Sao Paulo state area, make sure to drop by this final week!

The Dinobots look cool. The others take a few liberties with the general aesthetic and design though. Like strange knock offs. :P

Though not 100% accurate, those robots just felt good to be around with. You feel the dedication they have put into building them. Some even have bliking lights.
Here's a trailer for the same exposition but from another mall in the country.

While Transformers: The Last Knight is winding down in theaters, we still have plenty of TLK content to cover! Coming from Industrial Light and Magic artist Thang Le and concept designer Furio Tedeschi, we have several amazing pieces of conceptual designs from the fifth Transformers movie. Some of the designs below made it in to the film, like Quintessa and Infernocus, and some were cut, such as the Optimus Primal design! It's always interesting to see the development stages of large movies such as TLK, and comparing to the final product. Check all the designs out below!

And I like the Primal even though not much of a Beast Wars fan... what the heck was this for? I like how it has Prime's helmet integrated in the gorilla head .

Do we know if this Primal is supposed to be a totally new character, or somehow Optimus Prime? The helmet and face design is there, makes me wonder if Quintessa was going to turn Optimus into this rather than calling him Nemesis Prime.

This whole movie made me angry. I can see Quintessa.. as far as I can see.. did no wrong. For Cybertron to survive.. their greatest enemy.. Unicron.. the most evil chaotic being in the universe.. MUST be destroyed. Earth.. is Unicron. Earth.. is filled with beings that have done their best to hunt down and kill ALL transformers, the good ones AND the bad ones. Earth is clearly the badguy! And to top it all off.. nothing in the film was really resolved. Every one was all happy and high on victory, ready to go home.. but theres one problem.. this MASSIVE FREAKING PLANET STILL DANGLING ITS NUTS IN YOUR ATMOSPHERE AND SCRAPING OFF ENTIRE CITIES.
ugh.. angry. :-x

It's called cliffhanger so that we have something to focus on in Tf6 unless they conveniently misremember what they set up like AOE to TLK.

love the design aside form the helmet just being slapped on there. i know the designs a bit different but its the same thing.

also this is more like optimus kong. this would be the biggest optimus in history. not sure what kind of disguise this would provide.

I talked to Josh on the post on instagram and here are some interesting tidbits.

1 Bumblebee here was going to be a British armored scout like the mk1 but that was changed to whatever the white car in the movie was.

2: Josh designed some of the prison bots (Nitro Zeus and the other decepticons) and in his words

Yes they were based off of bots from other films. I think maybe the idea was seeing how those bots changed after being in prison.

This suggests that perhaps these Decepticons are either the original models (Onslaught being Long haul, Nitro Zeus being Shockwave, etc) or that these guys were from DOTM as the Decepticon reinforcements from the moon.

My head canon is that Onslaught is the same guy as the Garbage truck guy from DOTM it makes sense

Also on a thread on Tfw2005 Josh said he was going to upload WW2 Hot Rod concept art tomorrow he also told me he will eventually show off the Prison Decepticon concept art and there will probably be other stuff too.

A little while ago we saw some new concept art from Transformers: The Last Knight, coming from artist Josh Nizzi, depicting Bumblebee's design during World War II. Now, after much anticipation, he's posted the WW2 version of Hot Rod, as well! He shared it on his Instagram, saying:
WW2 Hot Rod. This was my favorite version based off a Sherman tank. Base Hot Rod design was done by ILM. #transformersthelastknight #transformers

It's a very cool design, so check it out below!

Oh or maybe the nice concept sports car Hot rod originally turned into with a the cool looking Robot mode, that didn't appear like a large version of C3-PO from the Phantom Menace.

Like I said, we saw them do it with Prime in the previous movie, and that was the last movie toy I've bought. Although I may pick up a couple of headmasters from this movie line, just because I need bodies for the extra heads that came with the mini toys.

Hot Rod has his design made and that's that there's no point in being all "he could of been this" what's done is done.

In my opinion this Hot Rod is still better then that whiny idiot prick from the G1 series.

These WW2 designs make me wish there was a movie or a series that took place in the World Wars and the characters all had this kind of (steampunk?) design.

That would be something original for once setting wise instead of the modern day or the future.
