Today is obviously a big day for many Transformers fans as Revenge of the Fallen has finally hit store shelves here in the US. However, some countries are getting ROTF a bit later and will see different versions than those in the states will.
With that in mind, Seibertron.com member Starfish provided us these details on ROTF's release date in the United Kingdom along with some info about the various editions that are being offered.
DETAILS OF UK RELEASES
For those interested in the UK release, here's the lowdown:
The UK release date is 30th November 2009, these are the versions:
2-disc DVD (mass retail). Same as the mass-retail US version.
1-disc DVD (mass retail). Just the first disc from the 2-disc set, packaged on its own in a 'budget' version.
2-disc Blu-ray (mass retail). Same as the US mass-retail version.
4-disc box set (mass retail). The two-disc versions of both Michael Bay Transformers films, packaged together. This is available on both DVD and Blu-ray
Store Exclusives:
Obviously the release date is still a month away in the UK, so there may be more information to come out between now and the release date. However, two exclusives are confirmed:
HMV exclusive: The transforming Bumblebee box. Avalable to pre-order now from the HMV website.
Amazon.co.uk exclusive: 3-disc set (DVD & Blu-ray). The third disc contains a digital copy of the film, enabling you to transfer it onto your iPod or other such device.
That's all for now. I have checked the websites of other retailers (such as Play, for example) and can see no sign of any other UK exclusives. Of course, as I say, it may still be a bit too early yet.
Hope that helps!
Of course it does, Starfish!

I couldn't resist only $15.87 for a 2-DVD "Big Screen" Special Edition at Walmart!!!
So that's the one I grabbed this morning since it left me some change for movie snacks

This one describes it as the big screen edition (and is slightly more expensive):

but this one has the picture of the case saying "big screen edition":

I'm really curious about the additional scenes from the IMAX version of ROTF. Is there a scene breakdown or detailed description anywhere on the interweb? I read about the one for the first film (all additional human scenes, ugh). I hear this time it's more robots! I'll probably grab that version but knowing me I'll miss what is new. Help!
Thanks in advance!

To Giant Purple Griffin:
The 2-Disc (non-BluRay) Big Screen Edition that I purchased for $15.87 is this one...

I was really surprised at the price!
hope that helps

Thanks for saving me a trip to Wal-Mart to check myself.

where do you live? Is that a special discount? How'd u get BR for $13.99? Most are paying 20 bux for the big screen exclusive. (Edit -maybe this is just the basic BR for all we know.) And the guy who got the 2D big screen dvd version for $15.97 was pretty lucky too.
Starfish, I briefly previewed the big screen BR and as far as I could tell there was no means to switch to the regular theatrical version. Don't know why you'd want that anyway, as a most of the extra 45 sec. to a minute is in the forest fight from what I've heard. When someone has a detailed shot analysis, I'd like to see it. Bay geeks indulge us.
oh yeah, & u Canadians should be happy you're gettin the steelbook BR exclusive. Looks awesome. Too bad that store doesn't ship int'l.
Griffin, don't quote me on this, but I think they flip-flopped pictures for the dvd cases. The ROTF 2D special edition dvd (no Imax stuff) seems like it should be 15.96 and the 2D big screen exclusive dvd should be 20.86. At the walmart i purchased at the 2D exclusive big screen blu-ray and 2D dvd were both 19.96.

I actually picked up the BD IMAX version for $16.96 (before tax) at Wal-Mart yesterday. They had it on sale for $19.96 at the store and I had the $3 off coupon from Papa John's (for the record, that guy who works there and said on the Papa John's posting that they get lazy and do not put the coupons on the boxes all of the time - he was right. I got screwed, so the driver gave me a free pizza card to make up for it. When I went to get my free pizza, I asked for the coupon and they gave me one).
At any rate, Wal-Mart seems to have the best price for both versions. A new release BD movie for under 20 bucks is a steal. Went to Target to check out the Bumblebee case and just wasn't impressed AND it was $30... I'd rather have the IMAX scenes for $17.
Has anyone watched their ROTF discs yet? Is it less grainy than the first one? I was kinda bummed that even on the BD version, the first one still had that graininess to it. Albeit only slightly, it was still noticeable to my OCD ass.

ya, walmart had the best pound for pound deal, although something extra like a comic book would've been nice, but then the price might have increased. Oh well.
not buyin another copy, but i'll keep that Papa john's deal in mind, wish i had a coupon before i went. But my roomie always gets pizza hut

I find it strange that everywhere mentions that Walmart edition has the IMAX footage except for the actual box.
The box just says "Big Screen Edition."

On my birthday (August 4th), I ordered a single-disc copy of the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen DVD via Amazon.com. It arrived this morning.
And, earlier this week, I ordered a two-disc copy of the Walmart-exclusive Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen DVD via Walmart.com. It shall arrive soon.

Just an extended forest fight between Optimus, Megatron, Starscream, and Grindor.AdventPrime wrote:Anyone know what are the extra scenes in the IMAX version? Other than the occasional removal of the top & bottom bars to fully showcase the robots, I didn't notice anything new when I watched it in theaters.

No, it's a bunch of fighting bits in the forest before Prime gets all "I'll take you all on!" and goes primal.Aluus wrote:That wouldn't happen to be the part where Optimus rips of Screamer's arm and beats him with it is it?

I think you're right. Now the 15 dollar one (which is actually 13 now) just has the picture of the regular single disc dvd, with the single disc description, although it still says "(exclusive)" but that's it. The 20.86 one still has an image of the regular 2-disc special addition, but the name specifically says Walmart exclusive big screen addition and the product details match.
I was going to order it online with ship to store if it was cheaper, but now I may not.

Sabr - so all of the extra imax footage is in the forest fight? I thought there was 5-10 sec added to another scene -guess not.

Now, I may not be entirely right, but I saw the IMAX version shortly after seeing the regular version, and as I recall there was a small snippet added to the stuff with Devastator.

I didn't see anything new with Devy. If there was anything new with him, it must've been only for a few seconds.NuclearConvoy wrote:vectorA3 wrote:GPG don't shoot Superion!! He's a nice guy.
