We have mirrored the Masterpiece Rodimus pictures:
It is rumoured that this figure is in fact the Hot Rod robot and has the ability to combine with parts from it's trailer to form Rodimus Prime, this is however just a rumour and cannot be confirmed at this point.
There is however one more very interesting reveal, a golden Fortress Maximus.
It is currently unknown if this is a very good fan custom, unused Lucky Draw idea or a brand new Lucky Draw figure, should this really be a new Lucky Draw it could mean that there is a reissue coming our way.

That's pretty nice, though I do wish the cab front looked a little less...awkward.
I don't see this being a double figure in any possible way or form. I don't imagine this'll be both Hot Rod and Rodimus.

It might be, look at the legs, you can see the inner side of the left leg and it kinda looks like there is a smaller thinner leg inside. Plus Mach dropped the information that it would be a double figure, and so far 90% of what he said has already been confirmed as true or has also been rumoured by other reliable places.

I dunno, I saw that but pretty much figured his legs were formed similar to MP Grimlock's in that alt parts folded inside a faux leg casing. Don't get me wrong, I'd be joyous if he is a double figure (also sad since I'll need to buy two) as well as impressed, but I don't see it yet.
Admittedly, these are really dodgy pictures at the moment. Will have to wait til decent bot mode images come out. And preferably alt mode images where his alt mode ass doesn't look HUGE and out of place.

It's inevitable that he'll come to the US at some point, question is, what will he go for then?

I'm awaiting further pics of the prototype, which seems to be present there.

That's the Lucky Draw Fort Max release back during RID I think.
Edit:
Actually no it isn't, Lucky Draw Max was the RID version just with all accessories! Updating article.

Posted by Oilspill on July 29th, 2010 @ 4:04am CDT
Please, please, please reissue Fort Max. Oh yes!
Oh, and it does look to me like the figure will separate into Hot Rod (without the trailer). I'd guess that's why the pipes on the trailer just peg into the pipes on the car part. Granted it could just be for integration of robot mode/winnebago mode, but I don't expect so. Plus didn't we hear at Botcon or somewhere that the figure would be able to be both Hot Rod & Rodimus Prime?
Whether the car section looks any good as Hot Rod is another question though.

It's as if the spoiler isn't brought forward enough on top of the cab, as if they didn't clip it farther when it seems to look like it can based on the little grove on the top.
I hope its just a mis-transformation, because it just looks weird, the spoiler is way too hidden, and too much of the plain roof is showing.

No the Robot Masters Cybertron Base was the exact same toy as Brave Maximus, the only difference being that the weapons and accessories that where missing from the RID release where included.

Trikeboy wrote:If you look at the robot mode, you can clearly see a wheel inside his leg. That could indicate that this will have a seperate vehicle mode. I like the look of this masterpiece and I am glad that it has a proper trailer and not a cardboard on like Convoy.
I can't beleive I didn't notice that. My first thoughts are, no hot rod conversion. But now looking at it, they could just remove the lower portion of the shin, as it is it looks like it's masking something, and a head change would do the rest. The body, apart from face and lower legs, could be either hot rod or rodimus.
Now if you look carefully, the hood of the car, looks nothing like rodimus's chest, So the wheel that appears to be in the calf are could actualy be the wheel from the front of the vehicle mode, meaning the legs are up front, and all the body parts are hidden under the trailer, a reversal of how g1 was. As the wheels in the shoulder look more decorative than actual working wheels. I'm probaly totaly wrong here.
There just seems alot of transforming parts in areas not needed, so hopefuly a hot rod conversion, but I'd want a hot rod car too. But that asks a question, woyuld they hold such a feature back at this stage?

Considering his alt mode isn't that much of an improvement ove rthe smaller original, why don't you just display the G1 in alt mode and MP in bot mode. Plus its a space saver. MP megatron with acessories takes up to much space, the original looks virualy identical in gun mode and works well for displaying both modes. MPs are about giving us the robot modes we have always dreamed of, the original toys did a pretty good job of being cars and wot not, but the bot modes suffered. Unless the MP has an alt mode like the seekers, with loads of gimmicks, displaying radar and flaps that open, the g1 would do a great job of showing it's alt mode.

The robot mode is more important and from that picture it looks beautiful. As soon as the pre-order goes up at Toy Hobby Market, Toys R Us japan, E-Hobby, Red Mercury or wherever, it will be mine.
And a tiny chance of a Fortress Maximus reissue? Awesome!
Just imagine if the Dinobots reissue rumour is true and they get reissued as well as Fort Max in the same year. With the movie coming out next summer and if the rumoured Masterpiece Galvatron and I think it would be the best year for Transformers in a long, long time.

I didn't say the whole trailer combines either. My point was that it clearly doesn't even come apart, which is a requirement for "parts of it are supposed to".
And "supposed to" is based on.... what?

not to get off topic does anyone know who went to comiccon or botcon know if hasbro is going to release mp megatron, thundercracker, & ultramganus to states?

Ever thought that the parts that come off and combine with Roddy are not part of the base-mode and are actually removed from that pic?

It's a rumour started by the same source that leaked the info about the upcoming Classics 3-Pack, the new Primus, Predacon reissues and a load of other stuff that's being confirmed as true.

I was really hoping for just a Hot Rod...
But I am known for oft repeating "There can only be one" pause "...Prime... and that's Optimus!"
So I might be biased.

Agreed. It looks weird, not enough windshield too. But it almost looks as if the spoiler could slide forward more, using that slot on the roof. If that's the case, I could be happy with it. The bot mode does look good, but the alt mode looks like a blown-up version of the G1 toy. It's kind of disappointing, I was hoping for something more stylized, like in the cartoon. Oh well, bot mode looks sweet. Preordered of course. I do hope the price goes down though.

I didn't go to either, but think it's safe to say no, decent chance, & doubtful.
Megatron won't because he looks too much like a real gun and the US doesn't roll like that these days. Thundercracker has a decent chance, but the fact that Skywarp saw clearancing in pretty much every store he was sold could hurt his chances as another Walmart exclusive...or he may be a lot harder to find like Starscream was. Magnus, he's been out for a good while and they haven't released him yet so I have doubts it'll ever happen, unless maybe TakTom releases a version with a trailer...but the US never saw MP-04, so even if, who knows?
Posted by Overcracker on July 29th, 2010 @ 10:27am CDT
Legs and likely Hot rod car parts form from there.
Since hot Rod only has 4 wheels, and Rodimus has 6. 2 of those could potentially disappear into the Hot Rod mode.

Not likely. MP's are large. He'd at least be as big as Grimlock.

Now The Fort Max deal is the one I'm eyeballing..............
Almost bought one in box missing 1 piece when BotCon was in Chicago, would have been more than a reissue would be too
I like the Roddy so far, so we shall see.
I WANT the Fort Max if it is indeed reissued

This is exactly what i was expecting from 'ol Roddy. But a better question is .... where's the Matrix? What's Rodimus Prime without a Matrix accessory? If it doesn't have one the design team needs their head examined!
Posted by DMSL on July 29th, 2010 @ 11:28am CDT
As for MP Roddy, he looks awkward.
The cab portion looks more like a Choro-Q and the trailer is very boxy and there is the back portion which sticks out a mile at the back.
Luckily it's still a prototype so here's hoping he will be fixed.

If you look at the vehicle mode, his windshield has a strange set up, like it can fold lower if need be. Plus his fin, it folds up (why, I don't know, but it does), plus the legs having that compartment like flap...it just seems like it's remotely possible that he could do both.
It would explain the price (yes, I realize BBTS said the price will probably drop, but let's say it won't for the sake of argument) because there would be more moving parts, more paint apps, and a larger overall size (vehicle wise).
TakaraTomy has proven one thing to us: If it's possible, they can do it. I wouldn't be surprised if he did have the capability to form both robots. Besides, if you look at the drawings they had out last week, they show two heads. They look the same, but if you look close there are subtle changes.
They wouldn't do that for the same character. I'm guessing the figure has the capability to do both.
If I'm wrong, then I'm wrong, but at least we're still getting a Rodimus. The robot looks good at least.

Kind of like MP Grimlock. Just a larger, updated version of the original with more articulation.

You could also say Prime's and Megatron's alt modes were blown up versions of their G1 selves. The only real problem with Roddy's alt mode is that his robot mode tucks into it for it's transformation.
