$25? I'm not even gonna start.

Anyways, are they going to recolor these parts for the TFCC version? I'm not into buying CD stuff, but I think it would be cool to at least see a pic of this stuff in TFCC style.

More weapon-viagra? That looks almost as unnatural as those extended missiles for the TRU reissue G1ers.

Anyone know what "artwork" this is based on? Caps from Masterforce? Dreamwave? Because the weapon upgrade Snaptrap REALLY needs is the rotory-octo-cannon in his Marvel TFU illustration. That, however, would be a full-fledged accessory with multiple parts and a precise method for clamping onto his back, so Primus only knows how much CD would charge for it.

Still, I'll admit this does look kinda' cool, since the real ones terminating around the top of Piranacon's head contributed to his unfortunate stubby look.

And speaking of that appendage, I can't comment on Crazy Devy without reiterating:

TERROR BRIGADE'S PURPLE HEAD!
TERROR BRIGADE'S PURPLE HEAD!

Colour me reactionary, but rather than re-issue "giftsets" of Pirahnacon and Predaking by Hasbro/Takara/Tomy how about some new molds with modern articulation? I'm not into the re-issued G1 bricks of my childhood. I've moved on (sort of). This is why 3-parties exist apparently. Though I'd rather go with FP & PE on full figures than spending the same or more for add-on kibble. I'm not a dog, I hate kibble!

While I have enjoyed many of CrazyDevy's previous sets, this is an admittedly weak offering.

Am I right in thinking that these are just caps that are snapped on over the existing cannons?

Most likely. It is also quite probable that they will scratch the crap out of the original barrels.

I only wish Devy could get organized and put out a FULL SET preorder... not to mention reveal the entire figure. It's hard to tell if you want to invest a couple hundred bucks on a figure upgrade when you can't see a finished product, only tiny close-up shots. Not to mention the frustration of trying to complete a set when one piece sells out.

Mind you, I've really been pleased with the quality and design of the upgrades I've gotten, I just wish the price was a little nicer... and you could order a full set. :BANG_HEAD:

Ok like everyone or most of everyone else, I too was won over with all the CD upgrades for Devastator to make a G1 toy pretty much very articulate and yes we know that CD is crazy and all of us want a package deal from (not gonna happened) him. So now he's moved onto Superion with minor stuff, then Menasor with just a sword so far and Predaking is his true pride and joy from what i can tell and its Piranacon's turn and so far the sword and the head doesnt look bad, but after reading this latest add-on, which i thought it maybe just caps that go over the double barrels, but i think theres more to it than just that, i think CD also has rescuplted shell blades to go along with the new stormsurge cannons too! So to sum it up we get new stormsurge cannons and new shell blades for $25.00, not a bad deal if you like ur G1 toys to be more accurate.

The set also includes chromed sea blades (chest piece) so at least there's that too.

Me either..
$25 for 2 cannons is a bit much for me.

Wait... 'G1 compatible' is one of the selling points?! These overpriced tubes of plastic damned well better be 'G1 compatible' since we see G1 Piranacon there! :BANG_HEAD: :BOOM:

Seriously, CD? Just... yeah.

Yeah, they put that on EVERY ONE of their products. Really redundant. And a lie when it came to Predaking's wings.

If I had the Seacons I *might* have been tempted. Yeah, I'm also tired of their "trust us" ads. Just give us the last Devestator upgrade and be done with at least one set.

Well the blades on mine currently look like scrap (got him at flea market for $5), so I'm in.

Can someone tell me how these guys have been able to stayy in business?

I tried to keep my first post nice as I have a habit of bashing CD stuff on site, but I can't take it anymore and must rant about these.

$25 for not even 10 cents in plastic. You've got to be freakin kidding me.

I also have $25 that says these will maim Piranacon just like poor Divebomb with his wing upgrade.

Who on earth is buying this stuff in order to keep these guys in business?

I admit to buying the devastator sets which are very nice. Haven't bought anything else from them though.

What's remaining on Devastator? (Ah, Devastator, now there's a re-issue I actually would buy!)

Ditto that. I also got the piledriver sets, but didn't use the heads, crotch, or guns.

A chest piece. The old one is decent, but doesn't really cover up the large hole the new "waist swivel" makes. That's also the last G1 accessory that's actually needed to make Devestator now.

Some feet panels would be good too. At least for Scrapper. I don't know about anyone else's Devestator, but Scrapper's now the bane to Devy's stability on mine.

But who can say what they'll make? All we really have to go on is their statement that "the best is yet to come". But I think the only thing possibly left is that chest piece.

Edit: Oh, and the crotch piece. I suppose they could replace that too. Never saw the point in keeping the original when they're replacing the entire waist as it completely hinders the new posability they add and is easy to knock out. so there may be two more updates left.

I buy them. I like their upgrades. They fixed the Predaking wing issue, so now that they've made good on that release it is rather pointless to continue using it as a CrazyDevy bashing arguement.

Yes, their stuff is expensive. So are they products of many niche market companies. I also agree they should just release the entire upgrade set instead of bits at a time.

My point is that their products are generally fantastic but their business model is terrible. I don't think they deserve the fan rage that they receive.

Ah, thanks. The downside to having all the parts, yet no Devastator to attach them to. (And yeah, they got me for the knock-off pegs sets and both colours of thighs — just in case.)

And, one would hope the chest and codpiece would be in the same set…

I can say i have all the Devastator upgrades and Predakings new head and wings and I must say that all the upgrades are great, but i grew up during G1 era, so the newcomers may not care for the Blockformers and these upgrades. Also, im a BIG Predaking and Piranacon fan, so im in for all the upgrades! Just waiting for Abominus upgrades as well.
