Each figure is listed at $4.99, a dollar lower than the price found in Toys R Us' database just over two months ago. Since the Prime Master class hasn't been discovered at any form of retail up until now, this is the first chance that collectors will have to grab these figures.
Will you be picking these toys up from Hasbro Toy Shop now, or waiting a little longer for them to come to you? Let us know on the Energon Pub Forums, and stay tuned to Seibertron.com for more updates on the Power of the Primes toyline as it rolls out!

Interesting. I'm feeling the complete opposite.
Well. Actually. I will buy all of them. BUT, I actually like the Skullgrin one.
This is all coming from someone that never liked Pretenders, though. So take the opinion as you will.

Seriously? You guys haven't learned after all these years that whenever Hasbrotoyshop gets something in stock they only get like 2? And are sold out within a few minutes.
This same shit happened with Grotusque. The front page says IN STOCK, I race over to the site with absolutely no chance of the shit actually being IN STOCK. It's like you're trying to frustrate the piss out of everybody on purpose. Next time Hasbrotoyshop gets something in stock don't even bother reporting it. Because it's going to be sold out by the time most people see it.

Glad someone appreciated the story!Asepticon wrote:Seibertron, got'em! This is just another time you've hooked up an otherwise clueless Asepticon. Thank you!
Aimless, I'm sorry you missed them (I did too, if it helps?) but there's not a practical way to do this otherwise, and just not reporting it at all is out of the question. It's not feasible for volunteer staff to update every news article about in-stock items when they go out-of-stock, or back in, or back out - all of which can happen several times over the course of a day. Think of these as 1) a handy notification if you happen to be around when it goes up, but also 2) a heads-up that you may want to start checking to see if they get more in the near future

Already shelled out $40 at BBTS for the clone set since Walgreens are nowhere near me. The price increase of late is dismaying.

I like that the BBTS listing has pics where you can see the PM's faces in their shells.
Skullgrin looks really cool, DeceptionFinishLine! But I prefer the original incarnation's scale....but the humanoid shells are perfect.

But then we go down the rabbit hole of wishes and wants (e.g., Sludge/Slog should be the torso component, and Grimlock an arm).
This.
It would have been so much better as you've described here.
I second this. I found it weird that Predaking was what they chose for the Titan class. The dinobots would have been much more appropriate given their generally larger statures.

Actually you guys are thinking as collectos, in terms of scale and what you would prefer, which I would also agree with. But from a business standpoint, I can see why Hasbro would want the Dinobots in regular release, as I think they would appeal to kids (and their parents) who are not collectors.
As collectors, let's face it, most of us are getting both combiners regardless. To a kid's parents though, $150 is a tough sell for a titan set, so they would be more likely to go for a regular release. The Dinobots are more likely to appeal to a kid than the Predacons, so the Diobots got regular and the Predacons go Titan.

I think you're completely right in your conclusion and your reasoning. Sometimes we need to put ourselves in the position of a six year old or their parents to understand some of Hasbro's choices. Doesn't make me feel better though.

Thank you my friend. I got everything I wanted except slash. I'll have to find a good home for Starscream but that shouldn't be too hard.

My reasoning just is balance within my own collection. The Autobots have Metroplex, Fort Max and G2 Primus from the movie line as the "bigger than regular combiner" size class, while the Decepticons only have Devastator and Trypticon. So Prediking, while not ideal, at least balances things out until next year's titan throws things off again.

Ugh, getting singles from BBTS and TFSource is the worst. It's luck of the draw to get the one you want before they sell out (and it WILL sell out because the one you want is the one EVERYONE wants).
I guess it's back to store-hunting to get Grimlock. I hate shopping at physical stores because finding figures there is so frustrating (though I managed to find a Slugslinger in Walmart when I couldn't get it online for a reasonable price).

I noticed Grimlock (single release) sold out first, then Slash. I cant believe people are willing to pay almost $40 after shipping for a Voyager. I know the movie line toys went up in price, thankfully I have no interest in them. But early indications, at least at Target seems to show the price points for PotP will remain the same as TR.
I can understand that kind of price for an exclusive or a Takara deco. Not so much a regular figure.

I'll stick to scouring hts and using brickseek to track down a starscream for a fair price. It's a shame though, I would have liked to continue supporting bbts, but they've gone and crossed the line with these figures' prices.
On a separate note, I'm really, really hoping these feet are indeed all that. The big problem with the combiners is their limited thigh joints, and weight trying to be supported on the hfg's (which, while ingenious, don't really lend themselves to supporting the kind of weight these new combiners are throwing around) I'm hoping that the ratchets are stiff enough to allow my galvatronus or mega-ultra-super-de-dooper-starscream to throw some great poses

I couldn't believe how bad tfsource was compared to bbts on some of the legends figures, blurr was at least $15 more and slugslinger and octane were about the same compared to bbts, it's completely outta control.

I woulda loved Voyager Dinobots, but that means the entire Voyager line is Dinobots. Legends - Beachcomber, Windcharger, Slash, Skrapnel (redecoed from the Generations version).
Deluxe - Slug, Swoop, Jazz, Dreadwind

Gang-molding. Each Prime Master, like the Titan Masters before them, only have two plastic colors. Also, making him gold will not only activate the fandom's paranoia of GPS, but it will make him look too much like his mold-mate Landmine.

The target employee that grabbed them for me had obviously been asked about them before. He knew exactly what I was talking about and knew exactly what characters they were. He couldn't find the legends, though, so the hunt continues!
