Fellow Seibertronian Powered Convoy has posted images comparing both Hasbro releases of Transformers Generations legends class Skrapnel / Shrapnel, the one from Thrilling 30 and the newly released one from Power of the Primes. Here we get a very good look at the differences which have been broken down by Twincast Podcast host ScottyP:

ScottyP wrote:Shrapnel has a darker purple than the prior Generations release, slightly lighter yellow paint (ymmv on that), and a barely different paint app pattern on the legs. Different enough for completionists to not hate themselves, not different enough for those with the old one to really worry about :)

Our own Sabreblade posted Powered Convoy's images, which can be seen below:

Sabrblade wrote:Looks like PotP Skrapnel isn't merely a reissue of T30 Skrapnel after all, but is in fact a darker-colored redeco

Out of seemingly nowhere, Hasbro Toy Shop has stocked the Wave 1 Prime Master figures for Power of the Primes! Thanks to a tip from Seibertronian mordhelm, we can confirm that Prime Masters Micronus, Liege Maximo and Vector Prime (with Decoy Suits based on Cloudburst, Skullgrin and Metalhawk respectively) are all listed on hasbrotoyshop.com, and can be Added to Cart and purchased at this very moment.

Each figure is listed at $4.99, a dollar lower than the price found in Toys R Us' database just over two months ago. Since the Prime Master class hasn't been discovered at any form of retail up until now, this is the first chance that collectors will have to grab these figures.

Will you be picking these toys up from Hasbro Toy Shop now, or waiting a little longer for them to come to you? Let us know on the Energon Pub Forums, and stay tuned to Seibertron.com for more updates on the Power of the Primes toyline as it rolls out!

NICE Qwan! I'm super-tempted right now, but would like to locate them on the Hunt....

I might skip Skullgrin...the other two are must-haves!

Interesting. I'm feeling the complete opposite.

Well. Actually. I will buy all of them. BUT, I actually like the Skullgrin one.

This is all coming from someone that never liked Pretenders, though. So take the opinion as you will.

OUT OF STOCK! Now every Transformers site across the board says these things are in stock when in fact they are OUT OF STOCK.

Seriously? You guys haven't learned after all these years that whenever Hasbrotoyshop gets something in stock they only get like 2? And are sold out within a few minutes.

This same shit happened with Grotusque. The front page says IN STOCK, I race over to the site with absolutely no chance of the shit actually being IN STOCK. It's like you're trying to frustrate the piss out of everybody on purpose. Next time Hasbrotoyshop gets something in stock don't even bother reporting it. Because it's going to be sold out by the time most people see it.

Glad someone appreciated the story!

Aimless, I'm sorry you missed them (I did too, if it helps?) but there's not a practical way to do this otherwise, and just not reporting it at all is out of the question. It's not feasible for volunteer staff to update every news article about in-stock items when they go out-of-stock, or back in, or back out - all of which can happen several times over the course of a day. Think of these as 1) a handy notification if you happen to be around when it goes up, but also 2) a heads-up that you may want to start checking to see if they get more in the near future :)

BBTS finally has Power of the Primes up for pre-order. :-D

I noticed some of the popular singles are already sold out, but as of 8:30 CST, all the complete wave preorders for each size class were available.

$65 for two voyagers? Pass for now. May get the legends group.

Already shelled out $40 at BBTS for the clone set since Walgreens are nowhere near me. The price increase of late is dismaying.

I was kinda surprised they were gone already, but then again...I had them in the cart and almost pulled the trigger. It was the shipping cost that annoyed me, so for the Hunt they go!

I like that the BBTS listing has pics where you can see the PM's faces in their shells. :)

Skullgrin looks really cool, DeceptionFinishLine! But I prefer the original incarnation's scale....but the humanoid shells are perfect.

I'll wait out the decoy guys till they end up in stores. There's nothing else at HTS I could get to push me to the free shipping threshold.

But I am shocked: someone said they would not get Skullgrin, when he is the coolest one????

I second this. I found it weird that Predaking was what they chose for the Titan class. The dinobots would have been much more appropriate given their generally larger statures.

Actually you guys are thinking as collectos, in terms of scale and what you would prefer, which I would also agree with. But from a business standpoint, I can see why Hasbro would want the Dinobots in regular release, as I think they would appeal to kids (and their parents) who are not collectors.

As collectors, let's face it, most of us are getting both combiners regardless. To a kid's parents though, $150 is a tough sell for a titan set, so they would be more likely to go for a regular release. The Dinobots are more likely to appeal to a kid than the Predacons, so the Diobots got regular and the Predacons go Titan.

I think you're completely right in your conclusion and your reasoning. Sometimes we need to put ourselves in the position of a six year old or their parents to understand some of Hasbro's choices. Doesn't make me feel better though. :-P

I actually would have preferred both the Dinobots and Predacons be regular releases and a non-combiner Decepticon as the Titan. I'd rather a titan figure be an actual titan/city bot than just a bigger combiner. Plus, I love making cities with the titans and the TR leaders. PotP doesn't give us either. I know Scorponok doesn't really fit the play pattern, unless they could have worked some kind of leader figure evolving into a titan figure, so I'm glad they at least went with a Decepticon.

My reasoning just is balance within my own collection. The Autobots have Metroplex, Fort Max and G2 Primus from the movie line as the "bigger than regular combiner" size class, while the Decepticons only have Devastator and Trypticon. So Prediking, while not ideal, at least balances things out until next year's titan throws things off again.

Ugh, getting singles from BBTS and TFSource is the worst. It's luck of the draw to get the one you want before they sell out (and it WILL sell out because the one you want is the one EVERYONE wants).

I guess it's back to store-hunting to get Grimlock. I hate shopping at physical stores because finding figures there is so frustrating (though I managed to find a Slugslinger in Walmart when I couldn't get it online for a reasonable price).

BBTS, like many 3P vendors are unfortunately overpriced especially on new items. I only use them to get imports or just wait for a sale. I noticed Grimlock (single release) sold out first, then Slash. I cant believe people are willing to pay almost $40 after shipping for a Voyager. I know the movie line toys went up in price, thankfully I have no interest in them. But early indications, at least at Target seems to show the price points for PotP will remain the same as TR.

I can understand that kind of price for an exclusive or a Takara deco. Not so much a regular figure.

Skipped on ordering starscream from bbts, they've basically lost me as a customer with these prices, I can't stand their price gouging, it's totally uncalled for with normal line releases, and these prices are ridiculous.

I'll stick to scouring hts and using brickseek to track down a starscream for a fair price. It's a shame though, I would have liked to continue supporting bbts, but they've gone and crossed the line with these figures' prices.

On a separate note, I'm really, really hoping these feet are indeed all that. The big problem with the combiners is their limited thigh joints, and weight trying to be supported on the hfg's (which, while ingenious, don't really lend themselves to supporting the kind of weight these new combiners are throwing around) I'm hoping that the ratchets are stiff enough to allow my galvatronus or mega-ultra-super-de-dooper-starscream to throw some great poses

I couldn't believe how bad tfsource was compared to bbts on some of the legends figures, blurr was at least $15 more and slugslinger and octane were about the same compared to bbts, it's completely outta control.

I am buying one to stuff in Overlord's cjest cavity. Not sure who. And a very helpful Target employee helped me get the entire first wave of Legends and Deluxes. The DPCIs that were posted were the only way. FWIW, they had to search quite a bit, but if it shows in stock, they definitely should have it now. I believe this is part of Black Friday preparation for them.

Even better news, I got them with the Buy 1 Get 1 50% deal. So I paid the same for them as I would just the deluxes online. Win for me.

It also all depends on who you ask. Some will go in the back. Others say they have them but can't sell them. I had to ask for the BOGO when they rang up my Legends. They don't seem to automatically qualify. At least they didn't yesterday.

Yep, I had to request the BOGO as well. I think it is tied to the DPCIs

Correct me if I'm wrong but we currently don't know which Pretender shell will be associated with Prima, don't we?

Here's my look at Dreadwind and Jazz from POTP. Gotta say I'm not feeling the vehicles.

Prima, Onyx, Nexus and Amalgamous have no associated Suits yet, but we do know one of them has the Waverider one.

Thanks to various site sponsors and fellow Seibertron.com community members, we have a round-up of links leading to listings on various retailers for the first wave of Transformers: Power of the Primes - from Legend class to Deluxe, via Prime Masters and Voyagers, but no Leader class yet. You can choose where to shop for these, but do note that some of the prices vary, and several of these figures are also making their way to physical stores too (at least in the US for now).

As a reminder, the first wave consists of the following:

Prime Masters - Liege Maximo and Skullgrin Decoy Armor, Micronus and Cloudburst Decoy Armor, Vector Prime and Metalhawk Decoy Armor
Legends - Beachcomber, Windcharger, Slash, Skrapnel (redecoed from the Generations version).
Deluxe - Slug, Swoop, Jazz, Dreadwind
Voyager - Grimlock, Starscream

Gang-molding. Each Prime Master, like the Titan Masters before them, only have two plastic colors. Also, making him gold will not only activate the fandom's paranoia of GPS, but it will make him look too much like his mold-mate Landmine.

And, after bouncing around from target to target for a couple weeks, finally snagged Slug and Swoop. They're going up in stasis to the top shelf of the closet for a while, though, as they're destined to be Minibot's Christmas gifts. :-D

The target employee that grabbed them for me had obviously been asked about them before. He knew exactly what I was talking about and knew exactly what characters they were. He couldn't find the legends, though, so the hunt continues!

As far as the online voyager pricing... I wouldn't get too up in arms until we get a physical siting in Brick and Mortar.

Also... considering Grimmy will be harder to find, I'm pretty sure i'll save (gas) money in the long run nipping this in the bud.

As for "they always over-stock the first wave". Wasn't that NOT the case for Combiner Wars?

While preorders have gone up at several of our site sponsors for Power of the Primes Wave 1 Figures (that list can be seen here), they had yet to show up on Amazon-until now, that is, thanks to a tip from fellow Seibertronian boyatlarge! Currently, only Wave 1 Voyagers (Grimlock and Starscream), and Wave 1 Legends (Slash, Windcharger, Beachcomber and Shrapnel Skrapnel) are available to preorder, as well as Wave 1 figure Jazz. Set to be available on December 15th (with free two-day shipping for Amazon Prime members), this is a great way to start your Power of the Primes collecting!

It should be noted that while full cases of the Wave 1 Deluxes are shown by clicking the "available on December 15th" link above, those are not sold by Amazon, which means they are generally sold at a higher price (via a 3rd party seller) and are also not eligible for Prime shipping- not to mention that the cases aren't expected to be available until February.

Also, if you're out shopping for whatever holiday you celebrate, and you come across any Power of the Primes figures, let us know on in our Sightings Section (which appears on Seibertron's front page), an also on our Sightings Forum. where you can share your finds with local fans!

Are you ready to capture the Power of the Primes? Click on each picture below to be taken to that particular product's Amazon listing, and happy hunting!
