Fellow Seibertronian Cyberpath has notified us of a new image and tweet from Takara Tomy Transformers, about their Legends line and Trypticon's (Dinosaurer) place as LG43 - but also comparing it in size with Hasbro's version of another Titan class: Metroplex! Check it out below.

Legends series is not finished yet. LG43 trypticon booking has started! To be reproduced this rivalry in the summer ♪ thank you. (Y.) transformers legends LG43 trypticon:

http://takaratomymall.jp/shop/g/g4904810887997/

EDIT: In addition to the above, we also have confirmation from various sources, but first notified via D-Maximus_Primal and Arpeniox, that the big purple space T-Rex also includes a catapult feature, that we have yet to see in action in any of the images or clips. More info below!

Trypticon, known as Dinosaurer in Japan, is an immense, city-sized juggernaut of sheer destructive power! Check out the level of detailing on this massive beast (nearly 45cm tall in robot mode) He comes with Full-Tilt in his vehicle form, a Headmaster, a catapult, and an additional weapon, and he can transform into his vehicle and base modes as well.

The Legends version isn't finished, they're just previewing things with the Hasbro version.

They're forcing the perspective a bit by having Metroplex leaning a sideways onto his right leg past Trypticon, but it looks alright. I'm sure the TT version won't have the green hands and have chromed feet.

The listed weapon is probably just Full-Tilt's gun. Catapult though, that's not something we've seen mentioned before. Brunt, maybe?

Oh, and as for the "will they or wont they" for the remaining Hasbro figures getting into Legends, let's not forget that TT also needs to start thinking about the new stuff coming from Power of the Primes. It's getting harder and harder to explain why everybody is a Headmaster, but the PotP stuff should bring us back to normal, less gimmick laden figures (partially anyway)

So how much more plastic does Trypticon have than Metroplex? I mean he is really hollow, but there still looks to be some girth on him.

I know what the catapult is and yes it is in the pictures - it's just like the original a ramp that tips up so a car slides down his tail ramp when in city mode. There is likely a lever on the back to activate it - you can see it as a panel full tilt is often sitting on in vehicle mode.

It even shows the car zipping down the ramp in one of the official photos - so that is an illustration of that feature.

Always looks so weird to me seeing these two about the same size. I know it was like that in the cartoon but being so used to the Marvel comic where while Metroplex was still gigantic, Trypticon was far smaller and they weren't rivals or even met. Come to think of it I'm not sure who the biggest Decepticon was in Marvel with both Tryppy and Scorponok being closer to normal TF sizes than the cartoon versions.

Wasn't Trypticon about three times the size of Grimlock with Scorponok being double his height at best, being on par with PM OP?

That picture of Trypticon versus Metroplex is an amazing example of perspective and how it affects scale. I'm fairly certain that Trypticon is at least a few inches shorter than Metroplex, but because of the angle of the camera and the fact that Trypticon is closer to the camera than Metroplex, plus the fact that Metroplex is bent at the knees a little, it makes them look like they're about the same height in this photo.

I don't need Trypticon to be the same height, just wanted to point this out to all of you so that you're not disappointed that Trypticon isn't the same height as Metroplex.

Based on the actual artwork, I've always assumed that Trypticon was about the same height as the Combiners. However, I personally just always assumed he was drawn out of scale and was actually meant to be giant sized like Metroplex still.

Though I guess even in the images I posted, Trypticon should technically be bigger because the Dinobots should be larger than the regular Autobots.

I'm putting my money on Trypticon as the biggest in the Marvel Transformers comics. Man I love those comics!

Except for he seemed to hate (or strongly dislike) Transformers, much to my dismay when I met him as SDCC a few years back. It seemed like he never realized how big Transformers had become and still looked at it as a forced licensed property from his Marvel days.

Surprising as he also penciled Shogun Warriors, another toy franchise. Anyways, TF was like a b#stard child which no one wanted to care for except , well until it was dropped on Bob Budiansky's lap.

Both the gun and the catapult are listed as additional parts on the part list, a built in launcher would be a toy feature and not on the list. Hasbro's product description doesn't mention anything about a launcher on the ramp. Where a launcher would be is a big empty space where the center tower of the city mode pops out.

And yet you're still being a jerk to me for no reason...

ANYWAY, AmiAmi raised their price for some reason, going from 30% off to 28% off. They usually don't start doing that for a while after the first listing, most often not until it's been released, certainly not the next day. Makes no difference to me, it's cheaper to buy the Japanese Titans domestically than to import them once you factor in shipping. I've got one on order from TFSource as I did with Fort Max (Legends and Encore), will probably save me $50 in the end. Though if the TT version ends up not looking much different from the Hasbro version I'll cancel.

So the 30% off was a mistake? Pretty big mistake to make twice. Started at 30%, then 28% when I posted before and now it's 27%. Doesn't seem like a typo, but then again their percentages have always been a little deceptive since they're based on the full taxed price so 30% is more like 22% off and 8% off for the tax.

Best price really does go to Will's favorite shop at just over US$150 (30% off 25,000 JPY rather than the taxed 27,000 JPY): http://www.anime-export.com/product/35111 Just have to be prepared to pay now. Though for us in the US I'm not sure if it's still enough to cover our nasty shipping costs.

So more or less the big bruiser is coming in September 2017. Domestically, with the Bayformer line must be taking priority for Hb, will this push out an early release schedule around June?

Also, back story wise, if Metroflex' upgrade has quadrupled his size to that of Fortmax, then the lack of Brunt like that of Slammer and Sixgun would be conveniently an explanation of incorporating them into the main body leading to their increased scale fiction wise.

Also, will Dinosaurer have batteries for a sound gimmick?

Is the catapult just gravity based? Or a spring powered mechanism?

It is my favourite shop, it helps out international buyers who get customs fees when they import elsewhere.

And you guys are very lucky to have the option to buy from local importers instead who do the heavy lifting. For many of us worldwide, buying from Anime Export is the only way of getting it for a total price similar to what BBTS is charging you.

We don't know what the catapult is so there's no way to answer that. It's listed as a separate part and there has been no mention of anything like that on the Hasbro version so we have to wait for official images from Takara Tomy.

I was under the impression from Toy Fair that this mold doesn't have electronics of any kind.

I was under the impression from Toy Fair that this mold doesn't have electronics of any kind.

My assumptions for the moment as well. And it may be better off without the electronics. More budget for beef!

Several listing have a catapult listed, so who knows what that could be about.

And yeah, Fort Max really did disappoint. I got him for $106 and still think that was too much. Should've waited 3 weeks and gotten him for $75 from TFSource, that is a bit closer.

Cerebros was the only thing from that set worth having.

Guys, you do know that my greatest invention since sliced bread post was tongue in cheek? :-P

G1 Fortmax is still the best version. But this is not the topic forum to discuss his awesomeness

Just got the EX Headmaster set from RK. What a different shade of plastic and paint can do to the lackluster Hb versions! Too bad no comic included. Though the packaging style is quite creative with the flip in front back type window.

I actually really like my Legends Fort Max and I spent a lot more on him. Sure, there's a lot wrong with him like his neutered firepower, but he does have the Master Sword and the G1 toy accurate colors (the blue window is a minor annoyance). I know I would have never been completely happy with the Hasbro version just based on the colors alone.

It wasnt obvous to me, or anyone else it seems, so sorry for not getting it. I too love G1 fort max, and I thought you were taling about the more recent version.

I am definitely in full agreement that G1 fort max is one of the best things in all TF lore.

Perhaps Catapult is a renamed Brunt?

I could see Brunt a name being changed for copyright reasons plus Brunt has never Transformed so I guess it would be easy for Takara to just make a non Transforming tank as an accessory.

Back to the Dino, old Ryan mentioned the BW "seal". Really Ryan, you sure got the cogs in your head running.

I do hope no electronics for him (has that been confirmed for the Hb?). It severely limits game play and the added cost which isn't worth it.

Hasbro said at Toy fair that it has no electronics at the very least the Hasbro Titans Return version does not.

Names aren't nearly as big of an issue for Japan, different rules apply there, especially when it comes to English names.

I did double check some of the Japanese online shops and it really does say "catapult" (カタパルト kataparuto) which is strangely specific. It could be used to mean launcher I suppose, they certainly do have better words for cannon or tank than that.
