But... Reverse Convoy wasn't a clone.

Where did you get that he was a clone birthed in a lab?

This awesome figure, exclusively offered by E-Hobby, commemorates the 20th anniversary of "Beast Wars"!  A clone of Optimus Prime (a.k.a. Convoy), the bat-winged Combobat was the result of an attempt to introduce organic elements to Transformers. With his silent flight ability, Combobat was engineered to be an ideal assassin, but he would prefer a different path. He comes with his Headmaster Megalligator, two energy swords, and the Ape-X Arms drone. A 16-page comic book is also included!

Well, even before the AVP backstory was written, the RobotMasters fiction itself showed Megatron possessing Reverse Convoy's body to impersonate its original owner from the Planet Vehicon so as to infiltrate the Autobots and gain their trust before stabbing them in the back.

Though, looking at the Wiki page, it seems to be missing Reverse Convoy's RobotMasters cartoon info. Odd.

There is a lot to discuss there though - if there is interest in the topic it might warrant it's own thread called something like "The organic Influence on Transformers".

Otherwise When I talk about a Post G2 Megatron I'm not really talking about some hypothetical events that may or may not have happened after the cartoon that might got alluded to in some Japanese Comic or other - rather the Western Marvel Comic events and the toyline. That certainly didn't take place in 2030.

Besides Transformers gets a bit mind-bending if you try to shoe horn in everything some where like the endless versions of Nemesis Prime / Scourge or even different incarnations of Bludgeon.

I was talking about G2 in a 1990's sense anyway. The other reason I suggested that was his body type is pretty much the same as the G2 Tank Megatron too - all be a smaller one.

[Boy being a Transformers fan is so like being a Star Trek fan sometimes - in that you are having to watch people tie themselves in knots to fit things in a timeline in both franchises]
