Combiner Wars wave 2 has begun shipping from various retailers all over the world, and some are even showing up at retail, but in all of the rush to find the next new figure to add to the collection, we tend to forget just who it is we're adding to the roster.

Well, Hasbro hasn't forgotten that biographies are a necessary and longstanding component of the Transformers universe and wave 2 is no exception. Hasbro's newest Combiner Wars releases have included new extended bios for the current wave of figures, such as Air Raid, Breakdown, Dead End and Offroad.

Those bios are great. especially Off Road's. If they do something similar for Alpha Bravo, will they mention his arch nemesis Rated X? :lol:

So do we know, are these printed on the cards, or front and back covers of the comics?

One thing that has always bummed me out over the years is that the illustrators how do all this great package art get no credit. These are really nice paintings, I'd like to know who made them. They should be at least allowed to sign the art.

I was thinking the actual blister cards, not the collector cards. I think if they come with comics, they dont come with collector cards.
Interesting though, I found Huffer and Blackjack yesterday and they DID come with cards. It's nice that since the Legends can't come with comics, they still get some art.

I think they may be on the back of the comic, as the image before each bio is the cover for the pack in comics provided.

Sorry, I was thinking the little collector card. If these dont come with a card then it has to be the comic.

EDIT: yeah looking at it, its definatly the comic and there are no cards. I should look more carefully.

I liked the cards though. I was hoping to still get them with the comic. :-(

Sorry, I was thinking the little collector card. If these dont come with a card then it has to be the comic.

The first wave of deluxes only came with the cards because they were in fact the international release of the figure sold domestically due to time constraints. From wave two on, all deluxes will have comics, and the legends, voyagers and leader class figures will instead have the cards. Any deluxes released outside of the U.S by hasbro, including Canadian retail should have cards as well.

I'm seriously considering getting two Offroad figures and turning one into an alternator nemesis prime. The colors are perfect and the head swap (probably from deluxe classics prime ) won't affect transformation! Then I'll make him part of Cyclonus team

I wonder if Hasbro will try to get the so far unreleased Wave 1 Deluxe comics distributed in the US. I imagine later production shipments of that wave will come in the intended "US" packaging now, but what are we to do for those who have already purchased the "international" batch? Maybe they can offer a mail away for the four first issues of "Combiner Wars"? Or, perhaps, at least offer them online?

The first wave come with pre dark cybertron issues though don't they as combiner wars itself doesn't start till next month spread across three issues Transformers #39, Windblade 1# and a one shot (I think it's a one shot at least)

True, but the pack-in comics seem to have a numbering scheme all their own. The second wave is represented as issues 5-8, so one has to assume the first wave was intended to be 1-4, even if they are older stories. It's kind of like how the first few waves of Generations 2014 were one-shots meant to set the background for Dark Cybertron. The stories selected for the first wave of Combiner Wars are meant as a recap of events that will pertain to the Combiner Wars event proper. Instead of calling it "Combiner Wars Prelude," they're just calling all of the pack in comics "Combiner Wars" for simplicity.

Air Raid: Darkwing
Sky Dive: Dreadwind
Alpha Bravo: Spinister
Firefly: Needlenose (OK, that one is stretching it somewhat - anyone got a better idea?)

Just to give a feel of how well Breakdown will work as Sunstreaker

Offroad to me is a perfect Ruckus. His foot/fist weapon even stores behind his head to give him that Triggercon feel. Really looking forward to what Takara will do with him.

I love how these guys are able to store both their foot/hand weapons in either mode. Its a shame no one has been able to find a way for Deadend to stash his somewhere in both modes. If I had him in hand I would be going crazy to find it but alas

It's a shame because Deadend is the best of the deluxe Stunticons. The f/f weapon just lazily sits on top of the vehicle mode and either sits in his shoulder holes or top of the fist (can't under sling due to hand design). Even his club thing can't store under the vehicle as an exhaust pipe. A small missed opportunity.

Not that complex. Flattop's transport is strictly a vehicle and doesn't even have it's own name, let alone sentient. Brainstorm consists of two distinct characters: the body, Brainstorm and the head, Arcana. Unless it's the Japanese version, then the body really is just a vehicle ("Transtector") and the head is the character.

Anyway, Off-Road's bio is interesting, he sounds like a politician. Careful, Motormaster, he might be gunning for your spot. Either that or he's a well trained Autobot spy.

Rook must be pretty happy that the guy he's replacing is still on the team.

Finally saw some CW figures at Walmart and Target. All the had were Alpha Bravo, Skydive, and Dragstrip at Target, and a bunch of Optimus's at Walmart.

Yeah tell me about it. I saw the reviews of him and when I saw the other Stunticons get the cool integrated f/f I was rubbing my hands thinking "Sweet his has to be pretty cool too". But no nothing at all just plonked on top.

I saw you can put the exhaust pipe on the peg hole on the side when he is in vehicle mode but it looks a little odd. They all need their G1 looking pistols as well I reckon the melee weapons just look average apart from Offroad's.

Yes. The Deluxes with cards are the international versions while the Deluxes with comics are the U.S. versions.

I keep thinking that's what they should've did with all three teams. Sell Slingshot and Dead End in the legends class instead of Powerglide and Blackjack. Slingshot is the smallest jet anyway, and I think people wouldn't have minded the size difference and new members as long as they could get the whole original lineup for each goup.

They'll be labelled as Combiner Wars 1-4 (Wave 2 was Combiner Wars 5-8) but will in fact be RiD 9-12 (as Wave 2 was really RiD 13-16)

No, I mind. I like the Powerglide we got, Blackjack is a new character(somewhat)as I like new characters, and Slingshot is DEAD. You wouldn't have the "original" lineup for Menasor by making Deadend as a legends. Because Wildrider doesn't exist in the comics.

That sucks. I would rather have the comics. Maybe I should return mine with the cards when I see the comic ones at retail?
