Andy of Kapow Toys fame passed along a note showing off his video reviews of the upcoming (and very soon to be released) Quickslinger (A Slingshot redeco and remold of the Firefly/Fireflight mold) and Brakeneck (A Wildrider redeco and remold of the Dead End mold) Combiner Wars figures!
These are the first in hand views of this duo since promotional images of them were shown over a month ago, and now we get to see them in action as well.

Looking at the shape, I can only guess they go on the quarter panels, right above the wheel well. I could be completely wrong, though. Those instructions are downright awful.

Don't just post in the forum as the News Crew only periodically skims them. You'd have to notify them by using the Submit News form or by mailing them using news[at]seibertron[dot]com as well.

It's nothing personal, it's partially what Jelze said and partially Andy himself emailed them to us. He's the original source and we have to go with the original source, we just didn't get to them until that point in time because all the news staff is busy with real life stuff. And Jelze is right, we can't possibly read every thread, every post, every page. It's literally impossible to do with the numbers we have on this server.
Please, always use the news submission forum or email us directly so we can get the news out there. (Today's an exception, we wouldn't have been able to get it out sooner, sadly.)

They're available in some parts of Asia as of now, RK are apparently shipping out tomorrow (Fri 1/5/15) - no idea what the distribution/ordering process in the US will be though

No cheats. The peg at the top of the foot is just nicely wedged under the panel that's flipped up. Also the gun barrels sort of fit over the rear view mirrors creating a bit of tension. The trick is the thumb on the hand foot. It is pushed up and bent in so it hooks around the grey thigh hidden inside that whole assembly.
I'd take some pics but I'm out of town, I can show you when I get back.

I have noticed Hasbro has decided deluxes are 5 inches tall and voyagers 6 inches tall in some of the other lines. I'm just wondering if this shortness is in the combiner wars as well.

it doesn't help that the instructions don't actually show the side where the stickers go AND has the numbers switched around for those two.
Took me a while to figure it out myself. If you're still stuck I'll try to take a pic on a few hours

Wondering whats going to get done with CW Brawl. Will it be a brand new toy. or a repurpose of CW Rook.
Thinking it might be profitable for HasTak to create a new tank bot toy for CW Brawl. As it can get repurposed into a drill tank for CW Technobot Nosecone.

mtma wrote:I like the old guys and all... But did he really need to throw Alpha bravo and Offroad away like that?
I never had the originals, or had much exposure to Aeriolbots... Only knew 'of' Superion, so I didn't recognize the discrepancy until joining the boards here... as such I like AB too... I'm all for G1 in most cases, but this time I'm just not feeling it.
I think it has a LOT to do with the reused body, and add in the fact that it was my least favorite body too. Had it been Skydive maybe... but fireflight? ehhhh really hate the way that tailfin folds up...
And of course the rarity of it and the rabid fans and scalpers... I might get him at cost somewhere... maybe HTS, but I can't justify worrying about Slingshot at scalper prices for a new head and weaker paintjob...

Nope. The Combiners dwarf their original Counterparts easily and are slightly taller than the leader-class figures.

Rook has a peg right in the middle on the roof of its vehicle mode. The limb module can actually peg into that nicely. If it's used for Brawl I can see them making a new turret that could peg into that. Also there is a port on the front of vehicle mode that's dedicated for the grabber tool, perfect to peg some drills into.

I know a Superion is a lot better from what everyone has said but I am quite impressed with Menasor. The only issue I have are the that Breakdown and Deadend's legs don't peg together all to well but only a minor detail.
Offroad is probably my favorite just because he is quite an nice transformation and in arm mode his arms tab in wheres I found the the others don't. I just have to pick up Blackjack and Brakeneck to finish the team.
Oh and if anyone has an Offroad they don't want let me know

Poor Off-Road but don't worry Galvatronus has a use for two of you and two Alpha Bravo.
Yes then the most powerful combiner of them all will be born. I guess the only way he could be any stronger would be using four Alpha Bravos.

No, just no
I keep thinking about the possible Energon Prime Force homaging limbs (which can double as Scourge's Grand Chaos), and I can't get beyond:
Fire-1: First Aid retool
Copter-2: Alpha Bravo
Digger-3 could be Nosecone, or a yellow Rook, but Submarine-4... Maybe a heavily retooled Firefly? I know a combiner or two from other series that has a jet and submarine take similar shapes.

Editor wrote:Just wondering... Does anyone have a completed CW Superion or Menasor in an image beside either FP Bruticus or FP-fixed Superion? Mine are still in storage so just wondering how these are in height against each other?
Not mine, nor "complete" but if it's height you want, they're good enough proxy's, though menasor has it's legs extended from further due to motormaster's hips.
