It's a team made up of characters with mental flaws so heavy their personal development is permanently "stunted".
See what I did there.....

It really does look nice. For a new line, they really have made some really nice looking stuff. I think that's what some people seem to be forgetting; it's a new line, not MP. Who cares if Alpha Bravo is in or out, in my collection, it won't be the end all, be all Superion anyway. I'll wait for an MP, and get this as a place holder in the mean time, which could be many years. What irks me, however, is the thought that parts of this line could be rebranded into the MP line, which would be a seriously bad move. For people willing to pay upwards of $80 for a single car, then it'd better be perfect, which is what that line hits 95% of the time. To include the new Devastator, with his glaring flaws and obvious compromises made due to price point would bring the entire line down. If an MP Devastator is coming, I'd expect each constructicon to be in the $80-90 range, and also look like it. The CW line is great for a mainstream line, but it is not high end collector grade material, and I'm sure it's not intended to be.
I agree that MP is its own thing and any re-branding as you describe would definitely bring the line down. I am curious as to why the CW Megatron and Devastator are so close in size to their MP counterparts. If they are trying to kill two birds then does that mean we will never get those figures.

I don't think they'll never happen but I do think Devastator is a ways off. And as far as Megatron goes, a line that prides itself on being incredibly g1 accurate will not have a tank Megs. Since there's been no official announcement of MP-25, maybe he's next, who knows? Patience pays off with this line.

Maybe if I say ALPHA BRAVO!
Nah, you just posted it in a different thread
See, I make a mistake and BAM! Noticed! Story of my life. I couldn't find the news post I originally used on the front page and concluded this was the thread (Thank you) Ah well, since I'm here...
I like Alpha Bravo.
There. I said it.
Honestly, I do hope Slingshot and Wildrider get here eventually. I'd rather we get new additions to teams rather than replacements. As someone who loved his Stunticons as a kid, I'd be miffed if the original G1 teams were NEVER going to happen. On the flip side, I won't complain if it's just a waiting game. Ironically, Wildrider was the elusive chap keeping me from finishing Menasor back then. Until mom, like a boss, special ordered him at the counter

Any one of us old timers had stories (urban legends most of the time) of the kid stopped for having a gun that turned out to be Megs, as all of us are aware of the need for the "orange barrel safety plug" attached to pieces to designate the piece was not, in fact, a working firearm.
Hasbro likely has weighed the pros/cons on this one, and decided that attempting to release him here will be too much trouble, should there be any negative news stories that their product gets attached to. Regardless even if this is what is happening, you know they will dance around the issue, because if a Hasbro rep was asked at a convention or show, and said something to the effect of-
<Hasbro will not be releasing Masterpiece Megatron for North America or Europe as his gun form may cause problems.>
-would at best bring upon then the wrath of certain members of our fandom, and at worse possibly find themselves being targeted by organizations like the NRA turning their reluctance to sell something gun-related into some kind of right-wing conspiracy to keep kids from embracing gun culture. It's silly, but sadly we live in a society where that is a plausible situation.
After all there was a reason that Classics Megs was "Nerfed" so to speak.

I would never expect Hasbro to release a gun Megs, but that in no way precludes TT from doing an updated one. Hasbro is understandably stand-offish at the thought if it, but who relies on Hasbro for MP releases anyway? If you did so, you'd miss most of the line.

Nope doesn't work. What does work is imagining him as a loner, out and about scouting/exploring and getting into his own adventures. If he's ever in a spot that calls for it, he has the ability to send a signal overriding Silverbolt's brain and, via him, the three nearest jets, making them drop whatever they're doing and get to his location. He'd probably be a bit drained after this but could soon merge with the others, Superion sorts out the trouble, and AB goes up Iron Mountain or whatever to recharge his 'Superion-Summoner'. Yeah.

Probably just the simple thought that real life jets are faster than helicopters. Then again, by that logic Dragstrip is too fast to be a Stunticon, being a formula 1 car.

Top speed of an Aerospatiale Dauphin (Alpha Bravo): 190 mph
Top speed of an F-15 (Air Raid): Mach 2.7
That's why.

Breakdown can transform from robot, to car, to arm, and to a leg for Combiner Wars Motormaster to create Menasor. That's some resume! Check out the bio, and keep scrolling for the pics!Breakdown is always worried he is being watched. The Decepticons take full advantage of his need to remain unseen, and mobilize him as a scout. Paranoia comes in handy when you're trying to avoid detection.
Definitely getting this.

But I'm kind of (surprise) agreeing with a point of view with Rated X on some aspect of scaling. I maybe in the minority but I wish Hasbro will downscale him. The retool of the Jetfire mold (TT/Hasbro invested oodles in it most probably) is pragmmatic like that of Springer. But making them on the same scale as Jetfire is not too animation (comic book IDW I'm not sure as I've not been reading IDW except for the comics that come packed in the figures) accurate.
In Japan, during Galaxyforce, Starcream was released without electronics at a smaller size. In the USA, he was that big@ss size with a crown. Chances are TT releasing a smaller Seeker type is indeed small....just my 2 cents.

His bio on the Transformers Battle Tactics website indicates he is much slower than the other Aerialbots. At this point, that bio is pretty much the only info we have about him.

And as far as Motormaster, I always assumed that (outside of the cartoon depiction) the sort of 'stunts' he did was ramming through things (like cement blocks, per his original bio) - an 18 wheeler plowing through a row of cars is as much a cliche Hollywood stunt as a muscle car jumping a ditch.

Get a Rook and First Aid in done in blue for the legs, and a couple retooled planes in Red and blue for arms, and you might get an interesting take on Cybertron Prime/Galaxy Convoy's super mode. If they can find a Legend that can sling on his back for the guns , so much the better. Then it would just need a predicon inspired CW line to get a replacement for Leobreaker.

Thought Megatron got a great Leader class toy for the 2009 Animated toy line.

You are one perceptive guy Cobotron. I didnt notice until you pointed it out where the set came from (and only the fact that it was a pizza shop gave it away for me).

He's been important in the comics since 2009, save for the years when the story shifted him out of the picture for a while in 2012-2014, but now he's back in prominent form. The comics made him into a Somebody, he deserves his Leader figure.primeghost_2 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Because Thundercracker is important right now.primeghost_2 wrote:I think that instead of Leader class Thundercracker why not Decepticon Skyfall he has a close resemblance to G1 Skyfire/Jetfire

In fact, he deserves it more than anyone else since that particular Seeker body the toy's made into has been his and his alone for years, with Starscream and Skywarp wearing other different kinds.

IDW's comics have nothing to do with Dreamwave's.primeghost_2 wrote:I have the comic of the pic that you posted I think it's Transformers Bumblebee , I think thats somewhere at the time that Dreamwave died out and about 3 or 4 years later IDW took the Transformer comic license and started making the stories different, the solo stories did help the characters, but I do not think he deserves the Leader class Skyfire/Jetfire , no prob on the legends version
IDW made Thundercracker into a wonderful character from 2009-2012, and now he's returned to full frontal prominence in the comics ever since April 2014. The Leader class toy is modeled after his body. Not Starscream's, not Skywarp's, but Thundercracker's body. Starscream always gets new toys and now it time for the really good character who's time in the spotlight is right now to get his due reward.
Besides, Starscream's already getting another Masterpiece figure. You can't get much better than that.

sorry for the double message and the Dreamwave what I wanted to get through to you is that after Dreamwave died out around 2005-2006 give or take a year IDW took the license and made mini-series and solo stories to better the characters of Transformers. I don't know about Thundercrackers body being modeled after Skyfire/Jetfire Leaders class 1st , looks more like the legends figure. The other seekers I wish were used better. I would like to add you as a friend and I have to go maybe chat with you later.Sabrblade wrote:IDW's comics have nothing to do with Dreamwave's.primeghost_2 wrote:I have the comic of the pic that you posted I think it's Transformers Bumblebee , I think thats somewhere at the time that Dreamwave died out and about 3 or 4 years later IDW took the Transformer comic license and started making the stories different, the solo stories did help the characters, but I do not think he deserves the Leader class Skyfire/Jetfire , no prob on the legends version
