Would the SDCC version from Hasbro Toy Shop be cheaper if you live in the states and want the sword? Importing a beast liek Fort Max can get pretty pricey.

While I appreciate how much more paint is on the takara one, I preffer how he turned out with Hasbro's "less is more" approach. The paint on the takara face throws me off a bit.
Wow, I see no problem sticking to the Hasbro one for this. Especially since a yellow apeface doesnt interest me. Also, its nice to see that both have a nice mix of colour and paint apps, Hasbro even has the shins painted, nice!

Agreed. That warmer "beige-gray" on the Hasbro version looks a lot cheaper, especially so on Power Master Optimus Prime. I have a feeling that I'll be holding out for Takara's "Ginrai" version of the figure.

I bet you're right WJ, SDCC Fort Max should be cheaper through HTS, but is the only difference going to be that he comes with the sword? Or is it a new deco as well?william-james88 wrote:Me looking at these new reveals:Would the SDCC version from Hasbro Toy Shop be cheaper if you live in the states and want the sword? I reaaaaaaaaaaaally like the way ALL of the Takara releases look (I am also like "daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn" except Galvatron, I'll stick with Hasbro and the darker color). I just can't justify paying $30 for a deluxe with all of the figures I want to get in the line

Hey neighbour, I think we should honour the written behaviour attributed to different english speaking nations. The different catalogue of spelling adds flavour to the dialogue.

As long as we're nitpicking about British spellings, there's also the problem of gray versus grey.

Well, I WAS gonna say "Definately want the Hasbro version of Wierdwolf so I am not double dipping for a proper Apeface, and then Sabr posted THAT.
I THINK it's a wierd coincidence, that robot duppoedly being Brawl's brain and the TakTom Apeface having nothing to do with that. It's Passable, if you need a B.O.T. in your collection, I guess, but I am gonna go with "Happy Accident."
I must be the only one who doesn't like Wheelie's shade of Orange, so definately going stateside. (Who am I kidding, I usually do anyway) Still, I am curious to see what the other Titanmaster vehicles look like and who they get paired with>

I am 100%, most definitely getting all of the animal Headmasters. Probably going to stick to original Headmasters for Autobots and Decepticons overall, at least when it comes to deluxes.
Takara's Blaster is a big improvement over Hasbro's, but probably not worth the money. I still want to see a rifle with Fort Max. Really confused on that one. If not, I am sure a 3P will make an accessory pack for him.
I don't care for Takara's Wheelie, too yellow. And Hasbro's Rewind matches the comic better, so I want him.
Posted by Sabrblade on May 12th, 2016 @ 3:28pm CDT
If he has a Fortress head or a Cerebros head ("Fortress" was the name of the middle-sized figure that forms Fort Max's head in Japan).william-james88 wrote:ZeroWolf wrote:Okay, the rest of them look great, but I'm still waiting for shots of fortress takara

But does that mean Japan wont get the apeface colours? Because taht would be too bad, no?
Also, question for your guys, is the extra head Wheelie come with (goshooter) a new design Hasbro has not announced yet?
I actually much preffer the Hasbro system of just sellign things individually. Like that we can pick and choose. I would rather pay less and just get Wheelie on his own. For those who care, these are up on anime export, but its more pricey than the usual due to the extras these figures come with.

I think we will see something similar to what Takara did with the fembot legends toys of last year. There is enough mold variety that for more niche headmasters, they could so some slight retooling and new paint and give us characters we wouldnt get from Hasbro.

I think the Horrorcons will require new molds though? Because Triple Changers are more complex, especially when it's a jet and a beast.
Gotta say that I don't appreciate those drone things that come with the deluxe figures; I don't feel like paying extra money for them.
Wish Takara had released all of them as a separate set or sets.

Rewind I have to agree looks better with the Hasbro version; even with the idea of show-accuracy that head design never looked good. Hasbro all the way.
Wolfwire... eh. I can go with either one he still looks amazing.
Wheelie I'm not sure about. On one hand I wanna say the takara version's better but at the same time not really... either way I'd be happy to get the hasbro version.
Which is fine because I'm planning on just getting legends class for a while.

I was talking about the deluxes like Minerva and the like, or a headmaster arcee. The voyagers would need new molds, yes.
And I share your sentiments, especially since i dont care for the decos used for those "drones"
Hasbro is getting my money for the majority of this line, especially Fort Max since he deco I see here is quite lackluster. Hasbro's actually highlights the sculpting better and has a nicer difference in colours. I get that its not toon accurate but to be frank (or roberta), I really dislike how this whole Fort Max thing was handled anyway, with denying hm his rightful city mode he is known for. So this is a new fort max anyway, and might as well go with the option that is easiest to get and which will opefully cost less in the end. I am super happy though that the cheaper option for me (Hasbro) also happens to have a perfectly competent deco. In case people dont remember, here it is for comparison's sake:

Am I the only one who finds that the Hasbro one looks better, just judging it as a cool looking toy?

You know, I think the fact that Takara painted what is clearly meant to be Apeface's beast form in Weridwolf's colours means that maybe they are working on a proper Apeface figure.

I like the Hasbro version better, but mostly because of the blue eyes, which I always prefer. Agreed. That warmer "beige-gray" on the Hasbro version looks a lot cheaper, especially so on Power Master Optimus Prime. I have a feeling that I'll be holding out for Takara's "Ginrai" version of the figure.
No pictures of Power Master Prime/ Ginrai have been released yet have they? I agree I have bought more from Takara lately than ever before and I can't see myself going for the dull grays with hasbro over spending a bit more and getting a better product

Hasbro = Toy Accuracy, hence green translucent door
Takara Tomy = Cartoon Accuracy, hence blue translucent door, to match what was opaque blue on Transformers: Headmasters
Interesting side note: The original Fort Max toy had red eyes, as did the Japanese Headmasters cartoon model. However, The Season 4 model in other territories, e.g. "The Rebirth" trilogy, is the only place you see For Max with a blue visor. Might it be too much to hope Takara threw in optional blue shades, kind of like what they did for Devastator and how Metroplex was designed from the get go?

Right. There have been no solicitations at all for a Takara release of Power Master Optimus Prime/Ginrai. I would be surprised if Takara didn't give it a lot better deco in terms of plastic color choices at least, and I'd be REALLY surprised if they skipped the mold altogether. We'll just have to wait and see, but like I said, I have a feeling Takara will come through for us on this, like usual.

Seriously? They didn't change Galvatron's head when everyone was sooo sure they would. They AREN'T altering they're headmaster gimmick, there is nothing to support the idea that they are or will. The best they could do is swap out the sh|t greige (grey-beige) plastic on hasbro's pmop for something much nicer looking, and they may not even release sentinel.
