Will there be a Tall Magnus to complement Fat Magnus?

These are far from high quality photos, coupled with an ill-positioned pose.

His legs are too wide apart makes him look wider. taking a picture of the of anything looking down makes it look short. so yes someone please take a got damn better picture! before more people feel the need to make another fat joke. =X

I do like the grey/purple version in the background, even though it is a proto.

That should not be a true statement.
But really. Third party toys are expensive because of the overhead and limited production. Yet citizen stack looks better AND nearly matches the cost? Shame on you Takara/Tomy. If third party can do better AND match you in price you are doing it wrong.

Citizen Stack "doing better" is a matter of opinion and conjecture at this point.

Have you seen citizen Stack? its a stack of Sh*t. Check it out some none section reviews where the reviewer isn't getting it for free.

Well, as no one has reviewed this yet, it's not a fair comparison. My argument of pricing still stands.
How can Takara/tomy continue to price masterpieces the way they do when a smaller company with fewer resources can price it nearly the same?
In the argument I'm making it doesn't matter that Stack is better. It's that it is third-party and comparable in price.
And anyway, the MP-22 looks like a big brick o' sh*t to me. I'm sorry but if official companies really can't improve on cost and design then they should just let third party companies design these things and use their infrastructure to mass-produce them. Then we will get good toys at good prices.

And $44 cheaper than the unofficial product. Nice that we have options though.

Everything I've seen has it about $180. Is that old data?
Posted by Cyberpath on June 12th, 2014 @ 3:07pm CDT
Japanese websites sell it for $121-142. Already sold out on Anime-Export and Ami Ami, but still available for pre-order on HLJ.Optimizzy wrote:Everything I've seen has it about $180. Is that old data?

It's a prototype (likely made of resin), those things always have loose joints and are very fragile. The person who displayed it did the mistake of trying to put it in a dynamic pose, which the prototype can't handle.
Damn, that latest pic

Well Citizen Stack has been out and its priced like that cause it's pretty hollow and its joints are wearing down already.

Btw, only way you can truly critique the fig is once you get a hold of him this January 2015. All these talk of lack of details, butt flap..........I get it, I'm also impatient as the rest of us for his release, but as I recall, never heard until Kanrabat complained about MP-11 having the Blitzwing shoulder syndrome. And the latter was hailed as the next best thing as sliced bread. Now, that flaw should have been mentioned by a lot of those "reviewers"
If UM is coming with design flaws, let's critique it but if only for some cosmetic issues.....I don't think the flap is such a big deal. It's the "designer's" and the toyline's theme in the first place.

Trust me it is, this happens every time we see prototypes displayed. They all look great in magazines, but displayed they look terrible in the flesh when put in dynamic or action poses. The displayed protos can also not transform because they are often glued together so that they don't fall apart. You can even still see the resin texture and the brush strokes in these newer pics.
We always complain about how terrible they look on display, and then forget about it once we see the final production version in its plastic glory.

Yes, that red bumper is show-accurate.
Posted by Diem on June 14th, 2014 @ 9:35am CDT
Perhaps the only surprise is the red bumper on the vehicle mode, though as Sabrblade pointed out on the forums that is cartoon accurate if not toy accurate.

Wow Sabrblade, that is genuinely some good screenshottery and pre-empting of the usual complaints!
The silver stripes and the red bumper on the cab make this a very weird hybrid of toy and cartoon incarnations. On the plus side, it breaks up the colors in a nice way.

And yet, here we go ...
If Hasbro releases Ultra Magnus (which I'm hoping they will announced at BotCon), then here's hoping for a toy accurate version. I'm not a fan of the red bumper. I get being "cartoon accurate" but sometimes it just doesn't translate well into a toy.

Agreed with bossman Seibertron: if this sucker gets a Hasbro release here in the States, I'd be a happy camper.
