Are you seriously expecting accurate scale in the G1 cartoon?
The thing is definitely too big though.

Question, do you think the human figures have articulation or are they just statues? Cos they don't seem to have joints, and yet in the suite they seem to be able to move their neck (arms seem to be separate pieces though.

I already have a Transforming Exo-Suit Set of Spike & Danie made by impossible toys, imo this set represent a better scale when displayed with other Transformers.

On the bright side, you get to decapitate him for the "suite wearing" mode.
Now that we have better pics of the human figures, I now understand how it works, you rip off the heads and shoulders (check the crack lines) and then put them under the dome of the suite.
Keeping that in mind, just makes the size of the suite that much more perplexing, I would have understood the need to make it so large if it actually had to have space inside of it for the figures, but it doesn't, you only put the head in the dome. They could have made this scale to the MP line and Spike and Daniel could still have retained the size they have now.
This way it just looks odd, even on it's own, since in the movie it was much smaller (speaking in terms of human to suite ratio).
Still would have liked Spike and Daniel to have a bit of articulation.

This! I will never understand how this brand has gone on for almost 30 years yet it seems so difficult to get a set of articulated humans. I would be fine with 3.75" figures in scale with G.I. Joes, Marvel Universe and Star Wars figures. As for scale, that'd be close enough so long as the humans are in scale with each other (i.e. Daniel should be smaller than Carly, Spike and Sparkplug. Archeville! Augie Cahnay! Kremzeek! Skuxxoid! Sleezardo! Bosch! Lord Gyconi! Slizardo! It seems like this should have been a convention set or a speciality shop set by now. This series or exclusive set could also feature the various Quintessons, B.O.T., the Unicron Trilogy kids/people, the RID people and T.A.I., the Beast Wars Cavemen, the VOK, Masterforce humans and Pretenders, the Animated humans and of course the TFP RID humans. Toss in parts for each set like some build-a-figure such as CHAOS, TORQ, Autobot Spike, Six-Gun or something along those lines and you've got yourself some nice collectibles. Heck, include various weapons packs, an extra Metroplex gun, chase Matrixes (sp?), Autoscout, Energon cubes, raw Energon crystals, an Allspark, Vector Sigma, etc would also be really nice to help these human based sets appeal to a larger crowd.

That's the thing, How will they sell? Noone really knows who these people are besides hardcore fans of the series. Seems like to big a risk to make them anything but exclusives, and then you'll have people bitching when they can't get one and don't want to pay "scalper" prices and having to pay 50 bucks for one figure. Has/Tak can never win lol

The build-a-figure or accessories would have to be things that collectors couldn't live without. Imagine a proper build-a-figure Six-Gun for Generations Metroplex or something along those lines. It couldn't just be a human figure pack ... there'd have to be things for the Transformers as well that you just had to have. If they could figure out how to do an actual build-a-figure Transformer toy for Jhiaxus, Scrounge, Rung, or some other character that fans would drool over, then you'd have a real winning set. Surely there'd be a market for something well thought out like this. I just find it hard to believe that the Transformers brand has to solely be about transforming robots especially with hard they push the humans in the cartoon series to us.

Wouldn't it be interesting to have a build a transformer toys shop or website? With 3d printing could hasbro make it work?

3rd Parties to the rescue! Seriously, this "there isn't a market for it" argument (by yourself/Hasbro) seems contradictory when a 3rd Party comes along and makes the damn product(s). So either 3rd Parties are losing their shirts on these projects (and Hasbro is correctly sitting it out), or MAYBE... just MAYBE there IS a market for these figures. I think Hasbro should take a bigger interest in these requests, and figure out how the 3rd Parties can serve these niches, but they can't.

3D printing is right around the corner, so I'm very curious as to how it will change the game. But my guess? Hasbro will NOT adopt the new consumer model, and the various 3D prints we'll be sharing will be fan-made. I see a large distribution network of fan-designed heads and other parts, culminating in intricate TF redesigns. Now, whether or not we can print the pieces and assemble the toys correctly (and on the same quality level as a Hasbro/Takara product) is another question. But it's going to be an interesting future. 3D printing is going to be HUGE with consumers in general! With TFs?

What third party products are you talking about? We're talking about 3 and 3 quarter inch articulated human figures. Which third party made these? Impossible toys? their human figures are overpriced crap and they're not articulated and they're like 1.5 inches tall. and also they're out of business. I'm not saying there is no market for it. I'm just saying the market might be too small for Hasbro to create it for mass retail. Therefor if Hasbro are to give us what we want (articulated humans) they'll have to make small runs of them and make them exclusives.

Hey that sounds awesome to me and I'm sure everyone on this site. But what you said build a figure do you mean something like the microns from the Takara AM line? I don't see that working for US retail... Maybe Takara will do it

No, not model kit style. "Build-a-figure" means like how the Beast Wars 10th Anniversary Transmutate toy was done, with one body part coming with each main figure:mooncake623 wrote:Hey that sounds awesome to me and I'm sure everyone on this site. - Head - Waspinator
- Torso - Cheetor
- Waist & right leg - Rhinox
- Left leg - Tarantulas
- Right arm - Rattrap
