Is he a triple changer on the movie?

Not bad I suppose, at least I could probably recognize him as some version of Soundwave without having prior knowledge of what I was looking at.

Kind of crummy and flimsy looking, if you ask me. I don't care for the design at all. Reminds me of the terrible Megatron design from the movie.

Me likey!!! It's clearly a Soundwave version that G1ers can recognize, but it's entirely new. I'm thinking it's a protoform or Cybertronian mode. Wish it was black though...then it'd be near perfect...and sinister as hell

Wow what a hunk of crap if it's not just a protoform type deal. Looks nothing like what it should. Not that I want a tape deck or a van with an oversized guitar but damn give us something that isnt garbage or a Megs repaint with more crap attached to his ass.

He reminds me of Energon Slugslinger.

i like it.. hands look abit odd but very faithful to the concept art we saw a while back.. im curious as to what size class this will be..

Sorry, folks, I'm just not feeling it with Bayverse Soundwave.
Me and Animated Soundwave will just be over in the corner playing some tunes.

I do see alot of Vector Prime in the design, with the disc on his chest and the gears at his hips and the "nosecone" down his back. Fitting with his Decepticon symbol face.

It looks very simple for a movie toy. Could this be more of the promised misinformation?

perhaps its a Fast Action Battler?.. im not sure if that particular line is continuing with ROTF... its either that or very small in size class.. but your right... it does look very simple

I really do like the look of this figure and I'll probably get it however, it doesn't quite work as Soundwave for me but I think it's pretty obvious it'll be his Cybertronian mode. It's at least better than a lamp post and here's hoping we will get a rockin' Earth mode (bad pun).

If it's a fast action battler, I will kill Hasbro and Michael Bay because those things sucked as much as Unleashed (well, almost). I think, like everyone else has been saying, that it will be a preview figure like the protoform Prime and Starscream we got last year (which for some reason, despite looking cool, I have still not picked them up. Since the movie toys still linger and New Zealand is finally getting Premiums - yes, we have been hardcore restocked on older movie figures, harder to find ones and some Premiums like Barricade, Jazz, Bumblebee and Leader Megatron, I might pick up some more and get the Protoforms for customising).

All I know is that he is going to look freaking EPIC in June. Holy crap, at least I know now that no matter what happens in the movie, one of the best g1 characters is going to be brutal, can't wait! He is going to translate so well on to the screen.

At least he has a decent looking head but the body just looks like crap. Im guessing thats his cybertronian mode. I just hope his earth mode is a dark blue cause that color there is horrible.

Maybe all the haters will get lucky and this guys turns out to be a TFU 2.0 Optimus Primal Bat lol, seriously though it looks good. It does sadden me though that Baricade got Frenzy and if this does turn out to be soundwave, hes got no little crazy bastard in his chest

...im sorry. right now it looks like pure crap. i dont see where you ppl are saying he looks like soundwave.....he looks nothing like any version of soundwave....his face doesnt look like soundwave. infact to me his face/head looks like an evil prime. i hope to god this isnt soundwave....so far EPIC FAIL!!!!! and his fists are horrible. they look like big old punching gloves.

looks crap to me. i dont mind innovation but its not a cart blance to excuse crap.

that said it does scream "protoform" or something like it. considering the changes between protoform prime and actual movie prime i'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

TBH while i dont want a walking casette i cant deny that half the fun of soudwave was having him just stand there ejecting minions. if the movie guys have found away to do that fair play but if they cant it just wont be soundwave to me.

hmmmm, for me there are 3 things to point out

1. i really like the classic yet 'unique' face yoou can tell it is soundwave without a doubt.

2. i like the idea of a satalite BUT, it would be nice for him to be a cybertronian 'spaceship' that doubles-up as a satalite, coz lets be honest theres not much need for a disguise in space.

3. i really dont like the 'wings'.

Looks okay, though I really hope some of that kibble is mistransformed. Those big panels jutting off the shoulders like that are kinda awkward looking.

The face is most definately a movie-fied Soundwave though.

SOUNDWAVE very BADASS...but please ppl don't judge him by the toy look how terrible megs leader class toy for that matter voyager toy looked...they looked nothing like the movie megatron....just remeber never judge a book by its cover the toys never the same as the movie, they have to simplize it in its toy version..its gotta have a logical transformation as a toy...if it was the same as the movie the figures would have to be huge and cost us way more money they try making these things cost effective in other words cheapened up a bit look how sofisticated black outs transformation was in the movie, not even close to the toy...with that said hes point on for a movie version.. my g/f even knew it was soundwave and she has literally only saw g1 soundwave a hand full of times..and believe me if she could tell then its a very reconizable soundwave...cause shes a TF idiot...doesnt know grimlock from sky lynx..so thumbs up from me

I am betting this is going to be a preview figure like the protoforms. I really liked the movie line over all, but I passed on the protoforms and I may pass on this one.

Lookn good I can easily see this in my collection! I think its like the pre-movie protoform prime/starscream, to get everyone hyped up about the movie. I hope they make some articulation in the hands, or a gun. Guns are good

One of the best Soundwave's so far in my opinion.

I don't like the feet they look silly and the hands are not articulated, don't like that. I also don't care for the colour, can't they make him more blue?

Its gotta be a protoform. The design just screams wave 1 deluxe.

The head sculpt is pretty spot on soundwave, but then theres no ravage or laserbeak. We'll probably be looking forward to a voyager class down the line, after these fill the shelves to get the hype going.

Ummm...what percentage of TFs, past or present, have articulated hands? Most leader class and larger and hardly any of the rest?

Not nearly enough, that's for sure. That being said, several modern figures do have things like wrist swivels or even balljoints. Take the Universe Deluxes, for example.

These ugly movie toys have got to get out of my sight already.

Well, nice to see that everyone seems to love this thing....but imo, it is really awful. I don't think I ever really liked the movie figs. Everything in my collection has been opeded with the excpetion of my ehobby and misb G1s. Yet, the original movie line remains sealed in their boxes. Never did feel the urge to open any of them. I think they will need to be taken over to Carbomya one of these days.

I'll still go watch the movie ten times over THOUGH!!
