Yeah, we got Octane instead?!?!?
Would love to get Blitz as a Voyager, though.

Octane doesn't bother me. He was easier to make and they did a really good job. Same with Astrotrain. But the whole "we don't want to make the same character for Classics 3.7 as we did for Animated" thing Hasbro was saying went out the window with Jazz, Wreck-Gar and anyone else who has been made since. I understand that they wanted to do character they were going to get more that one use out of but WFC figures blew a hole in that from the start.
Sorry to go off topic but still.

Can't wait for these guys, although I don't normally get the 'beast' types I have fond memories of a Kickback I had back as a kid in the '80's - got last years' (or the year before that??) G1 reissues. Sweet.

Personally, I'm planning on slapping Con insignia overtop of the logos.

zodconvoy wrote:Preordered! What's sad is I'm expecting these to come in before my preorder for the Warpath/Wheeljack/Thundercracker set gets filled!
I just got my preorder notice from BBTS on that set a few minutes ago. So my preordered Thundershred looks to be getting filled after. =)
This year is going to suck. ha! While I'm glad most of the DotM stuff is junk, as that saves me some money, there's so many 3rd party things coming out to suck more money than I have. $150 for Fansproject Insecticons, $600 for TFC Devy, MMC Shockwave and Insectitrain (if those come out this year) -- oh and for legit toys throw TRU MP Rodimus and probably the 2nd edition Takara Rodimus and new MP-10 Prime in the mix. Ugh...

griftimus prime wrote:how tall are they?
BBTS is listing them as 11.5 - 12 cm each. Munitioner is 10 cm, so they will be a smidge taller than the previous Crossfire/Causality releases.
And, I just preordered both figures, had Thundershred already ordered.

I agree, but am hopeful that these 3Ps start to make better business decisions which could save them on their costs, and pass it down to the consumer. Maybe saving us (edited to clarify statement) $5 - 10 depending on the size of the figure from what we are spending now. FP may be going this way, as they seem to be the one 3P that has an actual line-up with regular release dates. I'd say CrazyDevy, but only some of their releases seem to be worth the price.
Why would these companies do such a thing? To attract more buyers. How many people have to make the decision to buy 1 third party instead of 3 Hasbro figures? If prices became a bit lower, sales would increase.
To me, the past few years have been like a renaissance for TFs. Sure, I complain that a figure is $100 from a 3P, but a custom would cost even more! I'm very glad to have these different options available to purchase, and I believe with so many competitors out, we may get a more uniform pricing scheme in the future.
I'm not advocating that they can go to Hasbro/Takara prices, but with enough demand (ie - consumers) it might get cheaper. Well, may bank account would like to believe that.

Ravage XK wrote:Pre-ordered!! But from Kapow Toys as Im in the UK.
Mistake. Even with their free delivery option, orders from Kapow Toys cost more than ordering from BBTS, TFSource or RobotKingdom and paying to get them shipped in from different continents. It's ridiculous.
Vicalliose wrote:Hmmm... The plastic/paint looks a little different from what FP has served us so far. Maybe I'm just seeing things, but I'm still a tad concerned.
I agree. I thought they looked a little different when Seibertron posted the photos from BotCon. These look to have gloss paint. I think most FansProject products usually have matte paint. I could be wrong. Still, awesome.

kirbenvost wrote:Preordered, of course. The only thing I'm not as pleased about with these guys is the weird FP faction symbols, but they can be easily covered with Reprolabels.
I am feeling the same way. The faction symbols seem a little wierd if you want to place them in my TF line up. Love the accessories. Hope FP sclaes back on the chunky look for future figures.

I agree. I hope they can continue like that.

As much as i want them.
Sad days indeed.
The price is fair though. I'll have to wait till times are a little less skint and there could actually be a Deluxe Insecticon repaint by that time. If i'm lucky.
I see a Chop Shop, Barrage , and a Ransack in the future.

Cybertronian wrote:If FansProject ever does a "Venom" homage, I hope it shares characteristics with Beast Wars' Transquito.
Venom was my favourite of all the Insecticons when i was a kid!
I'm sure one could be in the works if they went and did a repaint of these three into the deluxe instecticons but that's just speculation of course.
It's what i would do if i had FP's resources.

I will be using these to build my Insecticon swarm, not official TFs but still transforming insect robots.
