Hahaha!
I HAVE to get that Buster Prime... and I WILL. Good news for my Brother and Nephew; Looks like they are gonna get a slightly used Leader Class Prime! Is Buster Prime going to be a Takara Exclusive?

I thought the same thing myself. Especially number 3. No pictures for the win!
I like how there are two robot figures of the Bumblebee mould. I'm hoping someone else jacked more shots of the head sculpts, I have a good feeling there are two different heads for the yellow and red versions.
Too bad that the robot mode doesn't really look that good.
As a parting though, it would seem that's our first glimpse of Premiums.

I have to admit, I like the silver on Prime here. Kinda makes me regret buying the current figure. Oh well, I made my choice and there's too many other TF items to contend with to bother with a rebuy.

in Toy Story's little green alien's voice: woooooooooow!!
That PRIME is just.... just..... PRIME!
Real Devastator, you are not only a cool guy but a really lucky fellow , I pretty sure you don't own this yet, but you got this amazing pictures, just amazing
Oh, and I'm pretty sure this must be a Takara Exclusive, is just too cool to get wide release... as always happens with super-cool figures...
Posted by Varia31 on July 17th, 2009 @ 1:59pm CDT
Noooooooo! Why must they always come out with a better one? I hate it when they do that! And with *gasp* an accurate paint job on it!
But... as much as it pains me, I must resist! (besides I have FAR too many Optimus Primes anyway) If I want guns on my Prime, I'll just stick with the Movie 1 gun mod I did, or wait for those ones from TFC to be released! Plus I prefer Prime with a facemask.
Posted by dragons on July 17th, 2009 @ 2:01pm CDT
funny they do it for bumblebee human alliance bot, & animated prime, fans projects shadow commander set but no movie prime figure if it wawsnt for the guns detacting from his back and a new face would pass on this prime but ill get this one if gets a us release
hey Real Devastator not to complain or anything could you have at least taken picture of prime face on the leader class figure i wanted to see the detail on it
hmmm maybe fansprojects, unicron or other compaines might make face plate for this prime to be interchangable snap on & off at time & time again

One for truck, one for prime, one for power up prime... Wonder if a premium jetfire is in the works?
May just make my normal prime power up prime, or the truck prime...
Either way, at least one of theese guys WIll.BE.MINE.

But I feel really pissed that they first release one and then after everyone buy it "hey, we did an improved version. Buy it!". This looks like a business trick to get more money from the fans because they end up selling more than they would with just one version. That's a fact.

THey did it with the Premium line the first movie toyline, you think they wouldn't do it here too.
Besides we've heard of no plans that this'll see release in the US.

Ya, we all said that as soon as we saw our first images. Hell, I'm sure I can even find the thread that you and I were talking about just this same thing.
Anyone who's been collecting for the last 4-5 years will tell ya it's been done time and time again.

I know, but it's not a very "nice" practice towards buyers and fans.
If they release it in the US or not it's the same for me, except if they release it in Europe. I'm from Portugal. Anyway, I checked the price in early bird on HobbyLink Japan and it's quite more expensive, about 58 euros while I paid 45 for mine in a local TRU. That makes it less "bad" since this one is cheaper. If it was the same price it would be a worse situation.

well I can certainly tell that looking at the preview images, it does not have real rubber tires.. and the fingers will most likely not be of masterpiece quality.. as far as I can tell, it is just a repaint with some mold variations in the head, and the backpack..
but I did notice the truck mode has chrome! which is an excellent touch.. and the head is painted movie accurate..
so for me, the silver paint job, the Chrome, the gun that makes his back kibble disappear thereby making his chest and upper body seem even more like the movie version..
he may as well be a masterpiece.. and totally worth the early bird special from HLJ..
Glad I passed on the first one..
my only hope is that this newer version comes with a battle mask..
watch Hasbro release a premium of the unmodified version, with silver paint apps here and there.. and still toy gray as they did on the last premium version..that would soooo suck for us domestic fans!!
By the way, if the bottoms of Prime's feet are the chrome bumper of the truck, you may want to invest in a piece of felt like material cut in a circle to place him on so the chrome doesn't scratch
that is the only down side I see to this version..besides not seeing a battle mask for him yet..

It is awesome, but I'm quite thrilled with the current leader version.
If it does get a domestic release, I'll use the "regular" version for combo with Jetfire in the display.
I'm still not convinced on the Alternity BB & Jumper. I like the argument of comparing sizes a la scout to deluxe, but I just don't dig the robot modes.

Alternity Bumblebee looks miles better than the bad concept art that was shown a little while ago. I'm gonna have to start collecting Alternity now

If it does, I'd actually feel rather relieved! What more than an 'exclusive' tag (along with the skyrocketed price) to kill off any remaining temptation to get him?

There'd. Better. Not. Be. I already feel very ripped off (though I'm very satisfied with my Optimus) and I certainly don't need more salt-rubbed-in-wounds kicks especially when I already have (self-painted silver in various parts) Megatron and have already placed an order for a soon-to-come Jetfire.

1. €58 is still cheaper than what Hasbro wants for the normal one over here
2. That is around the same price the normal version of that mold costs in Japan.

Silver and Chrome, silver and Chrome
Ev'ryone wishes for silver and Chrome
How do you measure its worth?
Just by the pleasure it gives here on earth.
Silver and Chrome, silver and Chrome
Mean so much more to enjoy
Silver and Chrome decorations
On ev'ry Transformers Toy.
Spoken
What's a Christmas tree without tinsel and pretty silver and Chrome decorations?
Can't really call it a Christmas tree now, can you?
And think of all the fun and joy that would be lost on Christmas morning
if all the young folks didn't get to see that sparkling happy "Buster" Prime under that tree.
Silver and Chrome, silver and chrome
Mean so much more to enjoy
Silver and Chrome decorations
On ev'ry Transformers Toy.
About this song Silver And Chrome
"Silver and gold" is from the animated movie, "Rudolph, the red nosed reindeer". This song was performed by Johnny Marks. "Silver and Chrome" is from the seibertron board's "Buster Prime" thread. This song was performed by Skywarp-2.

I was hoping that with the last two molds, Alternity had avoided the whole "clunky-shitty-robot-mode-in-order-to-get-a-licensed-alt-mode" syndrome that Alternators/Binaltech suffered from.
This is tragic.

I also notice the feet of Prime, the paint work just like those fans' repaint.
No more red colour foot "toe", and a part with blue colour.

Hmm, about number one I didn't know about it and didn't check about it.
About number 2 I re-checked HLJ and the retail price for the first version and it is cheaper than the new "buster" version. The first version is listed for 6800 JPY (it's the retail price, not a sale) and the "buster" version is going to have a retail price of 7800 JPY, which is a 1000 JPY in difference. So, they're not the same price in Japan.

That makes for a good size to accompany my Classics figures. I never got a Classics Bee or Jumper (and wouldn't get Jumper with a Bee head) and watching G1 again, I really love Cliffjumper. Iffin Alternity gives him a good Jumper head, I will get him.
Dunno if I even need a Bee, but at this point I can't decide if Alternity or Classics Bee would be best.

I highly doubt that Alternity Bumble - Pearl Red wil have a Cliffjumper head since he's still supposed to be Bumblebee.NuclearConvoy wrote:Mkall wrote:NuclearConvoy wrote:How big are the Alternity toys in Comparison to conventional size classifications?

That's why I said "around". the new Buster therefore costs €7.53 (or $11) more than the first, huge difference.
