Here I was, thinking I was clever when I saw those and thought "oh how cool, they made G1 guns for Ratchet and Ironhide"
Waaaaaaay off. But it does suit it very well.

Any figure that has the 5mm fist hole (that's most figures today) will be able to hold these weapons.

So basically it should work with TFA Voyager Prime as well, trailer-wise.

Yeah, I saw that too. I might have to break down and get both for my Animated set

Technically, maybe.

Although, it's almost a good excuse to buy the G3 trailer as well...

Gonna wait and see if someone tries it out.

Yup. It'll probably never happen but I think it'd be neat.

Wait, if I remember correctly, TFA OP had a firetruck trailer and a normal trailer rite?

Yup. Well, OP could haul different kinds of trailers and I think at least once he served as a dump truck. I just seem to remember seeing the "fire truck" trailer more often than the others.

Aye, it confuses me because OP originally got his Earth form by scanning a firetruck during the 1st episode. Yet, he seems to be able to carry other types of trailers.

but that trailer is just to big for him IMO

I have U Drag Strip, Deluxe and Voyager TFA OP, and Classics Rodimus so this set may be more interesting to me once I see photos of the items in a more finished state.

For that price, this seems like an extremely good deal to me.

Hehe, I had a good chuckle at the idea of being a pack mule.
Optimus Prime: Hot Rod, I've got an important task for you.
Hot Rod: Really? What is it, Optimus? Let me at 'em!
Optimus Prime: Yes. Pull my trailer.
Hot Rod: Yeah, I'm going to scrap some Decepti-... Wait. What?
Optimus Prime: You heard me.
Hot Rod: Seriously? That's the important task?
Optimus Prime: Yes. Do it.
Hot Rod: Yes sir...

Don't you see? The trailer is, like; a metaphore dude. It symbolises the burden of leadership and the bulk of responsibility that one must carry around with him at all times.

Is that the official explanation for the trailer? What about when Rodimus went inside the Matrix and saw the history of how it was passed down? The past leaders didn't seem to have a trailer.

Hot Rod: It's my time! Where's my faceplate?
The Matrix: You get a trailer.
Hot Rod: What?! I hauled around Optimus' trailer for megacycles and now that I get to be a Prime, I'm still stuck hauling trailers?
The Matrix: Take it or leave it. Look, do you want to be Supreme Commander or what?
Rodimus: Yes sir...
Hot Rod/Rodimus, the eternal whipping boy.

Nah, just some hippie talk about it. I thought that when he went into the Matrix, he only saw the faces of the robots?
Either way, I'm sticking with my theory, you get a Matrix, you get a trailer. The matrix decides if the Trailer is a repair bay or a gunnery turret.

And this is part where someone should explain where the trailer goes during transformation.

Prob the same technology as Astrotrain, but instead they become really small instead of big. Pocket-size trailers.

Wonder if mass shifting will be implemented into Bayverse?

It's probably explained somehow but I always thought Frenzy's transformation into a cellphone was mass shifting despite Bay's "no mass-shifting" rule.

I guess it's explained by Frenzy scanning another mode.

Yeah, it's just that the mass of Frenzy's head somehow transforming down to the size of a cell phone wasn't something that made sense to me visually without thinking of mass-shifting. I guess the Allspark Cube was mass shifting but it's "mystical" so it's okay, I suppose.
