Thought the same thing...
It could be legit, but obviously this isn't printed... If this is the real deal, it's just an electronic version.
Just looks a bit too sharp with the focus.
At the same time, this wouldn't be all that difficult to piece together in Ps.

Pray that the customs examiner is not bereft of common sense.

LOL. I had preordered mine through A-E after it was mentioned that they'd insert the orange plug free of charge. I was still debating if I wanted them to go that route, and was leaning against it since a few folks including Seiberton mentioned that they never had issues importing without the plug. But after seeing that box, I'm pretty sure I'm going to have them insert it.

mp-05 had a pic of the gun on his box.
x-transbots cares. they put no gun images on the box and they pre-inserted orange caps at the factory so people could keep him mib.

I assume we have until they receive the product to decide if we want them to insert the plug? Easily removable orange tape would be awesome.

That's all well and good for American collectors... But here in Australia, it's illegal to even own a pretend "replica" gun without a gun license & importing this would be problematic at best. When Australian customers tried to import the first MP-Megatron, they were almost all seized by customs & destroyed, barring the select few who elected to pay the exorbitant, life-long upkeep on a license & pre-warned customs officials regarding their purchase.

It sounds like importing it yourself through a Japanese retailer is a huge risk not worth taking. Where does that leave you and/or other Australian TF collectors? Does it mean you either have to go through the legal (and expensive) way of obtaining it, or more realistically not having it in your collection? Or are there other means?

What about Burn's method? Or are the rules dependent on a particular state there?

In my state, even owning Apollyon (which I somehow managed to sneak through customs via eBay) would require a special gun license & "letter of approval" from the local police commissioner, allowing me to retain possession (even if he innocently stands in robot mode on my bookshelf, as he does). This "license" costs about $300AUD & expires every 3 years, meaning you have to repeat the process in perpetuity (or however long you keep your "devastating weapon of mass destruction") & (now that you've informed the police about your owning it), you cannot sell it to a third party if that party is not also in possession of those same ridiculous credentials.
Fortunately, I got away with "illegally" obtaining Apollyon, but frankly, the official release doesn't look *that* much better to my eye, so I wont bother taking additional unnecessary risks. Further, if someone were to break into my house & steal Apollyon, somehow transform him without the instructions (good luck!) & were to attempt to hold up a bank or something, I could be held liable for not declaring it as a "replica weapon." How do you like them apples?!

Vader wears a skirt too and is just as badass!

Following this is a sneak peak at Megatron's Transformation, which appears quite intricate. Among the observations are that it appears the trigger guard is absorbed into the shins, and the chest plate is stored away on top of the gun mode.

You don't see where step one is some crude shapes and step 2 is a finished head with the rest just adding excessive details on a "how to draw Optimus Prime" guide?

To be fair, Transformers 'how to draw' guides are guilty of this generally.
From How To Draw Transformers Prime.

That's not quite the same thing, nobody would mistake step 2 for a finished drawing.

ToaLeePrime wrote:Well that transformation looks utterly terrifying. Gives ROTF Prime a run for his money.
Rotf prime really isn't all that difficult.
The transformations that are the biggest pain are the ones that don't hold together. MP-05 is fairly easy to get used to, but it's the fact that nothing wants to stay together that is most annoying.
I'm perfectly happy with a complicated transformation, just as long as everything lines up and is solid in both modes.
Judging by recent masterpiece releases, this one should be fantastic. But we'll see.
I feel like a lot of people attempt a transformation once, and if they consider it too difficult, they never make an attempt to actually learn it. I think ROTF prime suffers from that. I think it's a really neat and interesting transformation. But most people just seem to say it's too difficult, transform it once, and never try it again.

It's just a fun joke about how pat lee and drramwave on how to draw transformers. It was more showing off than anything. With pat lee it was "draw a circle, now draw Optimus Prime, now give him leprosy" it's just a running joke of "this is how to draw without actually showing you"

I totally agree! Complicated transformations are my bag, baby--especially when "ladder magic" is involved. But floppy messes are not fun to deal with. Never owned MP-0, so I cannot testify to how loose it is. However all MPs that I own are solid. I am rigid in joyful anticipation for MP Megs 2.0!
