Gee I wonder who the plane and tank are seems the rumours are dead on point.

Also: Liokaiser!

This actually has me really nervous. Since his modes are the same as a titan master that they would be as a Voyager I wonder if they'll even bother to make him big. If they do though he'll have a mini me, which would be awesome.

So I guess anyone who wanted just one individual bot is also SOL. Guess the only way I'm getting a scrounge or a nosecone is by someone splitting the contents of boxed sets up and selling them at triple the price of a deluxe. How absolutely miserable.

That's because its a tiny pic on the bottom of the platinum autobot box...

Looks like it'll only be a complete package release as well. Guess when they're concentrating on titan wars, they won't want to release individual combiner limb toys. Muddies the waters too much.

You were expecting them to be individual releases even though we knew Combiner Wars individual releases were over after wave 6 and individual deluxes, voyagers, etc were going to be Titans Return branded? We knew, explicitly or implicitly, that further Combiner Wars releases would be box sets, this should not be a surprise.
So Hasbro can't even decide what way they want Nosecone to face.
The former looks bad but it's what Ramhorn and now Nosecone have been officially solicited as, while the latter makes more sense for the mold. However, Hasbro's Strafe looks surprisingly good. Kudos for that.
Liokaiser looks strange with that extra inch of height that not folding back the treads gives him. Odd that he's featured on the back of some packaging but they didn't want to reveal him yet. But that's been the trend of this con. Most of today's reveals were on the packaging of yesterday's figures, so what can you do.

Brawn is an odd choice for a Titan Master (and I imagine everyone who ever wanted Legends Brawn from the Swerve mould are going to be furious), but his ATV/motorcycle is cool. Voyager Alpha Trion's alt modes don't look as good as I had hoped, but I'm still going to buy him, and a Lio Convoy repaint at some point would be great. And I'm probably kidding myself here, but Wolfwire looks like he could easily be retooled into a Transmetal style Cheetor and/or Tigatron, I hope that happens one day.

I don't know about Cheetor or Tigatron remolds/repaints, but I can say that Hasbro has knocked it out of the park with Weirdwolf (aka, "Wolfwire"). It's hard to see how Takara Tomy could really improve on that for their Legends line.

I mean, yeah, this is just revealed for the Platinum set and we knew he was coming because of the leak a while ago, but... still.

We were leaving him with Platinum stuff because that is the only version showed off to date. We are waiting on the mainline release images to post in this thread. If you want to share images over here though of the platinum one no one will stop you

It's been implied that that is Overlord! But while we should not rule out the duocons, Overlord was rumored and so far those rumors have proven to be pretty accurate

For all we know, Takara might come out before. I don need to wait, I can judge that Takara's looks amazing and will be getting that one instead.
Probably same here. Here's hoping I can preorder it in July.

Also, yes, Wolfwire is like the best thing ever

Highbrow looks good. About as good as Highbrow can look (he's always been a bit boring).
86 movie set looks half ok. Well, Arcee, Springer and Magnus. That Drift Blurr ain't a patch on the new figure, especially Takara's version. And we need a new Kup!
Scrounge looks decent and I love that they gave him an accurate head. I never did manage to find the Cosmos mold but as Scrounge I would like to get him. Is he to be available seperate or just part of a big Computron pack I don't really want?

Carnivius_Prime wrote:Hm. Need to see more of Wolfwire but that wolf form in the photo disappoints me so far (mainly the legs look a bit but may be just way it's posed). Still not bad though and I'd be open to finally getting a proper new Carnivac figure even if just repainted from that with a new head.

Scrounge only comes with Computron.

I agree mostly. I am super happy however that this set is coming out even though I don't really like Blurr in that set. Kup is a good placeholder until a new one comes out; that Magnus' paint scheme looks a lot better than the CW version; I am super stoked about the Arcee since I thought I would never be able to get her; and even though I already own Springer, this one can replace that one, so I can do that SillySpringer custom I have been wanting to do. All in all, this is the best Platinum set to me that we have gotten so far, besides the "Year-of-the" sets. This set is kinda an answer to prayer for me especially regarding Kup and Arcee.
Insurgent wrote:Is it just me, or does Kup have a new face? Not a new head, just his face? He doesn't look as.... gummy as the last version.
Looks the same except for the paint to me.

Please don't nuke my house for this, but I actually like the Hasbro version better. The only one I can side with the Takara one on is Nosecone.

At least it's better than the Breakdown mold like what they used in the UW version of Lightspeed.

Still prefer the UW version over the CW version.
(Mainly because of Strafe)

I'm exactly the same, takaras nosecone is awesome but, for me, hasbro is marvel cinematic universe to takara's dc cinematic universe, as in bright and colourful to dark and gritty (though that's where the similarities end)
