Hm. Need to see more of Wolfwire but that wolf form in the photo disappoints me so far (mainly the legs look a bit but may be just way it's posed). Still not bad though and I'd be open to finally getting a proper new Carnivac figure even if just repainted from that with a new head.

Highbrow looks good. About as good as Highbrow can look (he's always been a bit boring).

86 movie set looks half ok. Well, Arcee, Springer and Magnus. That Drift Blurr ain't a patch on the new figure, especially Takara's version. And we need a new Kup!

Scrounge looks decent and I love that they gave him an accurate head. I never did manage to find the Cosmos mold but as Scrounge I would like to get him. Is he to be available seperate or just part of a big Computron pack I don't really want?

I agree mostly. I am super happy however that this set is coming out even though I don't really like Blurr in that set. Kup is a good placeholder until a new one comes out; that Magnus' paint scheme looks a lot better than the CW version; I am super stoked about the Arcee since I thought I would never be able to get her; and even though I already own Springer, this one can replace that one, so I can do that SillySpringer custom I have been wanting to do. All in all, this is the best Platinum set to me that we have gotten so far, besides the "Year-of-the" sets. This set is kinda an answer to prayer for me especially regarding Kup and Arcee.

Thing is though for Bruticus, I like the CW version better than the UW version BECAUSE the colors are less bright and cheery. Odd but, I guess I prefer my Decepticon combat vehicles to be more dull.

Also, I noticed that while UW Scattorshot has an almost completely white and dull nosecone, the CW version has a whole lot of paint detail on it with a variety of colors. Odd that Takara and Hasbro seemed to kinda switch places as far as that goes. I also noticed that, although Nosecone looks better on the UW version in his induvidual modes, the leg mode on UW Nosecone just looks ugly as shit. The CW Nosecone looks way better when combined.

I also found that the green on the CW version of Afterburner looks better to me than the blue windshield on the UW version. It just looks cooler. Also the painted windshield and toy accurate paint on the face on CW Strafe looks better to me also.

Okay, the deco on that Springer is awesome. I love how all the yellow is replaced by tasteful gold-ish color.

Pretty certain that's overlord. The way these presentations work is that hasbro knows its fans looking at it and giving the fans a teaser they would understand. I am pretty excited about this.

I think he's awesome. Its not the toy everyone was thinking of getting and it pretty much seals the deal on us not getting another one, but the G1 still exists and this is a super cute new way to reintroduce and interesting character. I think he is really well done for that class and its probably one of the toys I am most excited for coming out of Botcon.

I agree about Alpha Trion, I too am dissapointed. Doesnt look much like a wolf or a ship. I will still get him though because that robot mode is amazing.

We knew Liokaiser and Computron would be giftsets, the listing of the giftset was the first evidence that he existed. And yeah, that is a slap in the face for the fans who bought scattershot as a single release. Its too bad they didnt reveal Liokaiser too, when he is on the box.

Its really interesting how Takara hasnt drastically improved any of the headmaster figures so far from what we have seen. Instead, they concentrated on the TR figures that werent headmasters before like Blur. I guess Hasbro did knock these original headmasters out of the park.

A lot of people were saying blitzwing but I think the head of Flywheels brings up a new possibility. I'm still not giving up on the titan masters getting full bodies rumor.

I am glad some people are keeping the hope alive, because its something I would very much like. But this is a pretty big statement Hasbro is making here with Apeface so I am trying to keeps my expectations in check inorder not to get too dissapointed later. At least we have a new apeface in some capacity and it does a good job for its size class.

I dont but now I totally get why we thought it did and its freaken genius. The lion mane is not just made up by his 2 shoulder halves but its actually split with his forearms too. We didnt know that. So we just saw his shoulders as the head and just having that looks like a wolf. But by adding more hair around the lion face, with the forearms, it looks more like a lion now. And that means that his hands become his teeth. That is really smart and a great design. Sadly, that is the only cool part of that alt mode.

I want a proper fucking Brawn, not a stupid head.

Well, yeah, but from RID 2015 it's pretty clear they still have Grimlock. If they wanted to name Clobber Grimlock, they would've named Clobber Grimlock.

no, I did. It's just...... I want collectable now, not toys. I think my collecting tastes have simply left Hasbro behind. I want updated versions of most of these figures,but I want them high end. Or T least at the level of the Generations run before CW. These figures feel like a bare minimum step above RiD figures. I'd rather wait for the 3rd party market to do these figures right.

This makes Hasbro's look like a one step changer. I don't care about the "i's not fair to compare Hasbro and 3rd party" nonsense. The fact is, 3rd party is out there, abd I can't set awesome aside and settle for decent. Maybe it's just a problem with me.

No, not at all. Its your opinion. I look at things a bit differently though. I have 3p toys too but I actually do not like them as much as my Hasbro toys. While they do feel meetier, they also lack elegance. Especially in the transformation. There are many instances where it seems they are adding elements as they go along in a toy's process. They find that there is a hole somewhere so they add an extra small (and easy breakable) tab or panel instead of going back to the drawing board and seeing if they could integrate that elsewhere. The best example would be the small metallic pieces dangling besides Appolyon's legs. That reeks of being added later (which we can tell from the lack of them in preliminary shots). I dont like that approach, it makes for a messy transformation. What Takara does instead is make the transformation more fun. They give you a very detailed and great looking robot without the needlessly complex transformation. I am all for complexity and I love it, but I dont like when it is clumsy. Another example of how 3p can be unelegant is how tney handle cybertronian animals. I own 3p tfs of cybertronian animals (Feral rex) and in all of them, the animal legs end up being stuck to the sides (ala G1) and they end up looking puny (like in G1). Instead by turning the animal leg into the robot leg (like in beast wars), you get this elegant and sleek robot.

Of course it would be fun if these were less hallow, but that isnt too differnt from G1. The forearms in TFs were always hollow but instead of the fist folding into the arm (hence why we see a big empty space), you'd have a sliding mechanism like on G1 Gnaw. I actually dont like those because when posing and playing the fist goes back inside sometimes (Happens all the time with G1 Divebomb). And those litle tabs look just as off to me as an empty spot.

Anyways, I just meant to say that I see hwere you are coming from but I find simplicity just as hard to pull off at complexity when the idea is to get from one functional mode to the next. I also value a fun transformation that wont frustrate me. The MP line is great at that even when they add complexity, but many 3ps arent as slick. Also, I get really ticked off when I buy 3rd party and then the next year another company makes that character again a bit differently. Its a game I hate to play. I dont bust my balls as much with Takara and Hasbro.

Okay, so now that I'm on an actual computer and not my iPhone where some of my thoughts would get mixed up from typos caused by my fat fingers, my thoughts on what was revealed today:

* Highbrow and Weirdwolf look incredible! Can't say they caught me by surprise, though; given Generations' current theme, I saw these coming a few miles away, it was just a matter of time. Glad I didn't bite for that BotCon Weirdwolf after all this time...

Also, no individual release for Brainstorm (at least so far)? What? I'd rather not have to pay an arm and a leg for an oversized orange-flavored gummy bear and Fort Max's baby cousin just for Brainstorm.

* Apeface is, as everyone else has said already, the star of the Titan Master lineup thus far revealed. Certainly casts a shadow of doubt over the possibility of a real-deal Voyager, though.

* Brawn, Clobber/Grimlock, and Skytread/Flywheels, ughhhhh... depending on what kind of vehicles they have (Brawn apparently has some sort of jeep that can also be a motorcycle?), I think these might be one of very few passes on what is shaping up to be a spectacular toy line. (on the subject of Clobber, I keep wanting to call him "Cobbler" for some reason )

* I wanted to like Alpha Trion, but... ugh, that beast mode is just terri-bad. At least the space ship mode looks sorta decent, so one-eighth of a point for that, I guess. So far, shaping up to join Brawn and Clobber in the near-pass club for me.

* Comparing Takara's Computron and Hasbro's, Takara's is overwhelmingly the winner, even if I like Hasbro's Strafe slightly more than Takara's. Though I do wish Scrounge was on his own... *sigh*

* Disappointed that Liokaiser got no acknowledgement apart from "oh whoops, he's on the back of a box for something else, yeah he's happening". At least we know he's going to be a thing, just hope he isn't going to be ridiculously priced...
