If only I had the money to buy it though. The price seems a tad high, even for a Botcon set.

Wow, thats a lot of cash for such a nasty looking bunch of bots.

And why is it called "Wings of Honor" if only one of them has wings? Is it because the Elite Guard logo coud be said to have wings on it?

Well, the box set I got via an Iacon package. I'm counting on my "certain handsome fellow" to help fill in the gaps...

Whether people spend the money is another story.

Not in hell.
If this would be on clearence for 1/10th of the price, maybe, but this set for 400 is a joke.

So, I'm stupid for getting the set? or stupid for liking the mold/decos?

Well, I guess that really depends on where you get it. I just wouldn't pay more than the BotCon asking price for it. I can't see paying inflated aftermarket price for this set... but that's just me.
It's like Genkei Strafe, if you like it, it's worth it. Definitely not for me though.

OMG...you couldn't pay me a fraction of that so-called amount they are charging to take those home...just call them the new "Hororcons"

That's the kind of closed minded attitude which ensures I have the opportunity to own cool things that you will never own.
...and should you change your mind and seek the toys out eventually, yours is the kind of attitude which allows me to sell the things you once dismissed at outrageous mark-ups.

Every year we go through this with people. "Boy, do these figures SUCK! What a horrible set!"
Then after the Con people are willing to pay siz arms, two legs and a spleen for them.
Oh well.

Given that the price of these custom sets usually balloon up 100% within a month of them being released I'll say yes.
Also the set itself looks cool.

Well I certainly don't have anything against anyone who wants them enough to pay crap-tons of money for them...
But personally, I think they are all ugly as hell and the odds that one day I'm suddenly going to change my mind on that enough to be even remotely willing to sell body parts for them, are slim enough to be virtually non-existant...
But then again, I'm also not someone who will pay 2-3x as much for a henkei figure just because it has a few more details in the paint-app than the universe counterpart...\
You guys who want these, knock yourselves out...But I will always be able to find better figures to frivilously spend that kind of money on...

Ugly...
That's what I don't get.
All of these figures are at the very least, well decoed. How exactly, is Flak an ugly figure?
Posted by Nekoman on April 8th, 2009 @ 1:28pm CDT
However, I don't think they interest me nearly enough to be worth convention set prices. If they were released as regular figures, at regular prices, my opinion might be different.
For me, I don't mind paying large amounts of cash on figures I feel are worth it. Henkei Thundercracker was well worth $80 IMO, however, any figure from this set does not look worth $80. They're still good figures, just not that good.

Understandable.
I predict these price ranges for the figures post convention:
Thunderclash: $80
Scourge: $100
Kupp: $100
Flak: $100
Landshark: $75
The figures cost $59 a piece if you spilt the $295 cost up by five.
Then again, for all the people complaining about price and the comparisons to Henkei exclusives...$59 for any one of those exclusives is pretty darn good...

But I don't really need the full set.

It's hard to say what the average person is going to do, but once a lot of collectors get one figure from a set then they start gobbling them all up.
Tehan again, you have the 2005 set where that never really happened.
I just want to see Ebay in June and July

I don't know if we're looking at the same image, but like someone just said "to each their own". For all those that desire them take'em away!!
