While not an official announcement from BotCon 2015, fans of the IDW Transformers comics, comics art and people who follow the doings of the Transformers community might be interested in the new print by Josh Burcham (colourist and artist for IDW and FunPub), calling back to the Last Stand of the Wreckers! Check out the mirrored image below, thanks to a notification from fellow Seibertronian leokearon, and make sure to pop by Burcham's table at the event to pick one up.

I'll pass. Not keen on the goofy cartoon style for what was supposed to be a badass bunch of Autobots. Not my thing at all.

Its a homage to the title screen to Japans transformers animated. Hence the cartoonyness.

I am not really interested if it's a homage to the Japanese Animated cartoon; I still don't like it. It's like doing a picture of Grimlock, as a homage to Barnie the Dinosaur, and wondering why noone bought an expensive print of it.

The fail is strong in this print.

Also, have you seen the art in the comic itself? Kinda cartoony. So I think it's appropriate. It's ok for you to not like it. But I certainly don't have a problem with it and wouldn't call it a failure.

And BW Megatron is the Barney homage. Not Grimlock ;)

i actually think its pretty cool. even with the campy cartoon style, the Wreckers still look tough as nails. the print captures their personalities well, like how Rotorstorm is all up front with his demeanor, just like his fighting style, and Fisitron's jumpin in the air like a fanboy haha. i'd cop. but just because i'm a huge fan of the Wreckers. :WRECKERS:

Well that makes sense. I detest Animated's 'style'.

I dunno, drawn like this it doesn't look like they're capable of actually wrecking anything. Poor neutered wreckers. I miss the days where everything didn't get cutesified all to hell. Seen shelves full of those crappy Funko pop figures that have barely left any franchise alone...

While I agree, it's because people buy them. Like in droves. If they weren't so successful they wouldn't make them. If you have a problem, blame the insipid obsessive fans, not the companies.

Personal rant: I think the availability of geek culture is actually gonna kill it. I mean now this stuff is everywhere and starting to get obnoxious. I know people love content but as an older fan, remember when you'd seen something Star Wars and it was special? And that was a franchise that started the marketing machine. But now, it's over saturation. /end rant.

i can relate to the feelings of annoyance at how everything is becomin my little ponyish. i mean damn. Tranformers are basically a race of beings whose underlying purpose is to slaughter one another over energy to power themselves and their planet, which was drained of said energy due to stated slaughter of one another... and now they're all qt-fied while doin it. haha..

anyway, this is the Wreckers print i'd like to purchase. lifted from the deviantart page of the same artist as the above print.

Yeah, but I should say that I don't think the print that we were talking about was actually cute. It reminds me of the art style in the picture you submitted. Very Roche.

However, yeah, i think too much cute can derail the Point of the story.

To be fair Grimlock personality wise is probably a better fit for Barney. I don't think he was talking about Grimlock himself being an homage that would be impossible due to Grimlock's age. Though I am pretty sure Grimlock was Godzilla inspired. Given BWM's age it's possible that the makers of the show were having a little fun though it's probably a coincidence

I was joking cause they are both purple.

Also: Grimlock based on Godzilla? He looks pretty much like every drawing of a trex in the 80s. Now trypticon as Godzilla, yes.

I think some of you might be a bit confused about what in particular about this artwork is meant to be homaging the Japanese Animated intro. It's not the art style that's an Animated homage, but the layout of the picture. The way everyone's all lined up in heroic yet fun-loving poses standing atop the slanted text while set against a background of a partially-visible planet in space. THAT's the Animated homage.

The art style itself, however, is just Josh Burcham's own personal art style that he uses in his works, like these:

All of these are in the same art style as the Wrecker art, and is far from resembling the traditional look of Transformers Animated.

After yesterday's Josh Burcham Wrecker print, fellow Seibertronian podcaster xRotorstormx notifies us of another IDW artist Transformers print to make its debut at BotCon 2015's Artist Alley - Matt Frank, regular artist on Godzilla, and who worked on the acclaimed Spotlight: Trailcutter, offers fans an amazingly kaiju-esque Deathsaurus, with colours by Transformers regular colormancer Josh Perez. Check it out mirrored below!

Another couple of print additions to the BotCon 2015 Artist Alley comes from the dream(y) team of IDW regular cover artist Casey Coller and colourist/writer John-Paul Bove, featuring both a newcomer and a mainstay of the Transformers cast. Check out the mirrored images below of the two prints they will have available at the event, featuring Blurr (in honour of guest John Moschitta Jr, voice actor for the character) and savant Camien Nautica from MTMTE!

I wish I had them out of storage so I could check. Was hoping for a gaudy G2 Flamefeather out of the US version to go with Botcon Cindersaur. He needs a friend. Finish the trio with Sparkstalker out of Lazerback.

That is one sexy sexy mechanical construct. You know, thinking about the argument about gender in transformers, they have really always had gender. I mean they all sounded like men right? Had they all looked like Whirl or maybe Obsidian then I'd think they were gender less robots but really I think they always had gender so, having females seems like a forgone conclusion. At least too me.

Not to mention the fact that Whirl's holo-avatar is this helps your argument.

Still, when I read Whirl he sounds like a wiseguy to me, like a young Steve Buscemi.

We've seen a couple of these over the past year already, but the prints that IDW colourist John-Paul Bove will be bringing to BotCon 2015 have a certain something to them, and definitely could use a boost on our front page - plus, we get another Casey Coller/Bove collaboration, featuring Arcee!

Check out below three examples of the art deco inspired propaganda prints featuring Optimus Prime, the Seekers, and Soundwave, and make sure to pick one or all of them up next weekend, and take a look at the new addition to the previous Nautica and Blurr announcements.

Right. I might be able to get there Friday night. Hence the unfortunate question. :-(

It seems general admission is $60 for Saturday, which might be the way to go.

Do they have a direct number to call? All they seem to have is an email.

Well, I got their "we're away for Botcon!" message. I guess no one is manning the office at all? They really are a small shop.

I guess an email query is my only recourse for now. Thanks, Sabr.
Sure thing, but, to be frank, with the schedule having been released previously, it's possible you might get a response containing something along the lines of "With the convention in just a couple days from now, you really should have settled this with us sooner."

Unfortunately, not everyone has the luxury to plan these things that far ahead of time. The "at a drop of a hat" nature of my work really sucks.

As far as I know, late registration and package pick-up is one process. You register and get your badge/box set (if applicable) all at the same time. For souvies, you're at the mercy of the club store line at that point.

The official Botcon Twitter account has tweeted out an image of the Frank Welker VIP Package art print by Casey Coller with colors by Josh Perez. We've mirrored the image below of this really slick piece paying homage to many of Generation One Megatron's most famous moments.

Keep it right here with Seibertron all week and weekend for the latest Botcon 2015 happenings. Maybe there's even more to come very soon!
