I'm really pulling for a Midwest location naturally. Since Botcon decided to start moving around, the Midwest has been screwed as far as Transcons go. We're the only region of the country without our own Con (not to slight DairyCon in the least; I'm talking about a large scale con. Besides, any Con with an exclusive named Heffer is just awesome IMHO). Would like to see Chicago, Madison, or St. Louis host one for a change. The coasts regularly get the Con...let's see some love for the Bread Basket, eh?

First-Aid, doesn't Chi-town host one of the Wizard World shows? Those are usually a big deal.

Plus:
* 1994: Grand Wayne Center, Fort Wayne, Indiana -- July 16 [1]
* 1995: Dayton Convention Center, Dayton, Ohio -- August 5-6 [2]
* 1996: Radisson Hotel Rosemont (formerly Clarion Resort Rosemont), Rosemont, Illinois -- July 12-14 [3]
* 1997: Rochester Riverside Convention Center, Rochester, New York -- July 18-20 [4]
* BotCon Japan 1997: Science and Technology Hall, Tokyo, Japan -- June 8 [5]
* 1998: Anaheim Convention Center, Anaheim, California -- June 19-21 [6]
* BotCon Japan 1998: Sevencity Hall, Tokyo, Japan—December 12-13 [7]
* 1999: Touchstone Energy Place (formerly RiverCentre), St. Paul, Minnesota -- July 16-18 [8]
* BotCon Europe 1999: Barnabas Center, London, United Kingdom -- August 13-14 [9]
* 2000: Grand Wayne Center, Fort Wayne, Indiana—July 28-30 [10]
* BotCon Japan 2000: Trade and Industry Center, Tokyo, Japan—December 17 [11]
* 2001: Durham Marriott Civic Center, Durham, North Carolina -- July 13-15 [12]
* 2002: Grand Wayne Center, Fort Wayne, Indiana—July 26-28 [13]
* BotCon Europe 2002: Wolsey Hall, Cheshunt, United Kingdom—November 3 [14]
* OTFCC 2003: Hyatt Regency O'Hare, Rosemont, Illinois—July 25-27
* OTFCC 2004: Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, Rosemont, Illinois—July 31 - August 1
* BotCon 2004: Pasadena Conference Center, Pasadena, California -- June 19-20 [15]
* 2005: Embassy Suites, Frisco, Texas -- September 22-25 [16]
* 2006: Lexington Convention Center, Lexington, Kentucky -- September 27 - October 1 [17]
* 2007: Rhode Island Convention Center, Providence, Rhode Island, Hasbro's home state, the weekend before the live-action Transformers movie was released—June 28 - July 1 [18]
* 2008: Duke Energy Center, Cincinnati, Ohio -- April 24-27 [19]
* 2009: Pasadena Conference Center, Pasadena, California -- May 28-31 [20]

I would say the the Mid-West has had good representation there, where as the PacNorWest has none.

As someone who lives in the far southwest corner of the US, I'm hoping that it's as close as possible to me... if not, so be it. I'm going to have to save up and try to go to BotCon '11, though, since that should be closely tied to the release of TF3.

I'd say a Northwest location would make a ton of sense, but it seems that the Pacific timezone is extremely unlikely given the Pasadena location of Botcon '09. Most likely, somewhere in the midwest.

That would be way to easy!!! Although carpooling if it is in mid-atlantic region is a must. I can fit all sorts of TF's into my wife's Chevy Equinox, and have room for you too! Plus it sounds like we can squeeze Prime Evil into the glove compartment for more space!

Let's try to have one in the south east for a change, m'kay?

Atlanta was good enough for the Olympics, why isn't it good enough for Botcon?

Oh wait, someone tried to bomb the Olympics there last time... hmm... okay, well then, I promise this time I won't...

I mean, I promise there won't be a bombing at Botcon if you come to the south east.

An Equinox doesn't have a trunk. Besides, we need that room for purchases. Maybe we could get some bungie cords and strap someone to the roof (we don't want to mess up any boxes).

If they decide to do this thing somewhere in the east, I am down for a road trip.

It has plenty of room behind the back seats for tfs, and just enough room for Prime Evil. I guess we can give him a seat! we could fold down the back seats, I can fit sheets of drywal in that way.

PE, you don't really NEED a seatbelt do you?

Thanks CP, I'll definitely keep that in mind, but it's more a question of distance, travel costs and 2010 being a better year than '09 seeing my significant other found herself out of work for the majority of the last 7 months.

The location should be Orlando, Florida. Close enough to Disneyworld that youc an take one of their free shuttles. They have been trying to get Orlando/Florida for awhile now because it is such a tourist spot. My understanding is the convention will be in July and at the Orlando Convention Center. You should hear official word on Monday. Remember that surrounding hotels which are in walking distance to the convention are a lot cheaper than the (official) hotel(s) you will be given the names off for Botcon. Like less than 100 bucks a night, so shop around when they finally announce the dates later on this coming week. Hope everyone is doing well and has Merry Christmas!

Outside of GenCon Indiana doesn't seem to get a lot of sci-fi/fantasy/horror/video games/major comic cons anymore. IMHO Wizard World Chicago isn't a big deal as it used to be. Hell, before Wizard bought it it rivaled SDCC as the biggest comic con in world. Now of days it's just another comic convention.

So yeah do I want to See BotCon return home again?

Yeah you bet your ass I do.

I'm sorry but I think both the East and West Coasts get more than enough big sci-fi/fantasy/horror/comic/video game conventions that actually is where the HUGE news and events gets announced while the Mid-West gets nothing.

Fantastic. Disney World. The opposite of affordable.

I was hoping they could pick a more expensive place to hold an event where you are garaunteed to drop a pantload of money already.

I am going to run this one by comittee (girlfriend, bank account, etc) but I don't see it happening.
