Again, like I said in an earlier news story, it's just too expensive for me, and I am just too busy with work and school, so I won't be able to go.

I just spent an hour and a half at Office Max and I still couldn't get through. I hate fax machines.

At least you could print out the form. I'm currently out of ink. :-(

I started about 5:30 Eastern time and it took me a GOOD 45 minutes to get through on the fax. Man, was that line jammed.

You can fax over the Internet for like $1.50 and they constantly redial if it is busy.

I'd love to pre-reg, but with paying for the wedding, and trying to start getting my colege paid, I think I'll op for the walk in, and just buy the G1 toys I want.

Though I REALLY want that evil Autobot set.

You never know. The only real reason to sign up early is to get in a class. Other than that, no real reason. :-?

Getting in early also assures you one of their most sought after boxed set exclusives....speaking of which how many set will be available? and is anyone ordering any?

I have a boxed and loose set coming. But I am pretty sure these will not sell quite as fast as last year's...no cannon figures in the set, but I guess pictures and reactions will be the best measure.

I wasn't interested in the classes so I have no worries.

Pin Club

...if you're into that sort of thing.

(This year's pin might be really cool though due to the nature of the "good" Decepticons, etc)

Just my luck they post it right after I leave for work. Like I told Brian at the last convention, there has got to be a better way of doing it.

They seem to be content using technology and sorting methods from the time before Jesus.

Want to complain about the Club and have a leg to stand on? This is the place to start.

How else would you guys suggest that they confirm your identity? They have to have a signed document before they have permission to extract funds from your bank account.

The other possibility is for them to set up some online payment option. That of course comes with a price. If they set up a paypal account for that, they'd have to try and figure out who's payment goes with what package the person ordered unless the person was smart enough to right it in the note field.

With doing it this way, they can make sure the correct amount of funding is pulled for the correct packages because they are the ones doing it. You're not sending money to them, they're getting permission from you to take money.

Two completely different animals.

:?

What's the difference between a faxed paper form and one submitted via email?

All of the same stuff is there, the payment emails could be sent from a secure site, they don't have to use PayPal, standard credit cards would work.

I really don't follow your logic here as to how the paper system and insufficient fax method shouldn't be improved on. BotCon is too big these days to not have a more professional set up going.

They have to have your signature. If you fill out a form online, you can't sign it. And anymore a check box ala license agreements, means nothing to a court if they were to be sued for some reason. Having an actual copy of a document that you PHYSICALLY SIGNED is undeniable proof that you gave them permission to extract funds from your accounts.

Unless you mean that you want to fill out a form, scan it and then email it to them. But then why not just use a fax?

I agree that they should set up an online registration form, but from a small convention company, this is the most cost effective way of doing it while having as large of a guarantee that no information will be lost on the way over.

Are you sure about that? (actual question, not a backhanded comment)

Why then can I pay by credit card on almost every online store? Why does the club accept over the phone payments via credit card for individual items?

What about the 3-digit security code on credit cards? Isn't that as good as a signature? If they can accept membership registration through the internet, why can't they accept BotCon registration the same way?

Or if that's not realistic, how about a special registration form for club members? They already have all your information on file, so why not have a members only form where you don't have to write in so much information. Maybe just your screen name, password, and what pacakages and stuff you want. Making it easier and quicker for members to get their forms in.

Feel sorry for the list of people whose e-mails were not legible enough...

I just really want to get in the customizing class again... :-( Can't do it on Wednesday this year, like we did last year, so I needed to be a top 25 so I have a choice... :-?

I wish I could go but the prices look too high and the only one who could transport me there is my mom. She's got work on those days at Wal-mart.
