At least you could print out the form. I'm currently out of ink.

You never know. The only real reason to sign up early is to get in a class. Other than that, no real reason.

I wasn't interested in the classes so I have no worries.

Pin Club
...if you're into that sort of thing.
(This year's pin might be really cool though due to the nature of the "good" Decepticons, etc)

They seem to be content using technology and sorting methods from the time before Jesus.
Want to complain about the Club and have a leg to stand on? This is the place to start.

The other possibility is for them to set up some online payment option. That of course comes with a price. If they set up a paypal account for that, they'd have to try and figure out who's payment goes with what package the person ordered unless the person was smart enough to right it in the note field.
With doing it this way, they can make sure the correct amount of funding is pulled for the correct packages because they are the ones doing it. You're not sending money to them, they're getting permission from you to take money.
Two completely different animals.

What's the difference between a faxed paper form and one submitted via email?
All of the same stuff is there, the payment emails could be sent from a secure site, they don't have to use PayPal, standard credit cards would work.
I really don't follow your logic here as to how the paper system and insufficient fax method shouldn't be improved on. BotCon is too big these days to not have a more professional set up going.

Unless you mean that you want to fill out a form, scan it and then email it to them. But then why not just use a fax?
I agree that they should set up an online registration form, but from a small convention company, this is the most cost effective way of doing it while having as large of a guarantee that no information will be lost on the way over.

TheMuffin wrote:They have to have your signature. If you fill out a form online, you can't sign it. And anymore a check box ala license agreements, means nothing to a court if they were to be sued for some reason. Having an actual copy of a document that you PHYSICALLY SIGNED is undeniable proof that you gave them permission to extract funds from your accounts.
Are you sure about that? (actual question, not a backhanded comment)
Why then can I pay by credit card on almost every online store? Why does the club accept over the phone payments via credit card for individual items?

Or if that's not realistic, how about a special registration form for club members? They already have all your information on file, so why not have a members only form where you don't have to write in so much information. Maybe just your screen name, password, and what pacakages and stuff you want. Making it easier and quicker for members to get their forms in.
