Two news pieces concerning Japanese clothing retailer, A Bathing Ape(BAPE) and their exclusive Green Generation One Optimus Convoy. First off, BBTS looks to have entered a bit of a conundrum with the amount of BAPE Convoys acquired. Check your e-mails to see if your preorder has been cancelled!
Hi - the BAPE Convoy figure ended up being much more limited than our suppliers had anticipated. Our buyer had a team of helpers each visiting a different store in Japan, each person was only able to secure 2 pieces (Each store had under 2 dozen pieces available with a 1 per transaction limit). We will not be able to fill your preorder for this item, but will leave the preorder open in case any further supply turns up in the coming month. After around a month, we will cancel your preorder. I'm very sorry for the problem on this item, it was a conditional preorder and in this case the conditions worked out against us - sorry!
Thanks
Joel

Cyberion wrote:Is this just a G1 repaint? After winning a G1 w/trailer on ebay, this definitely isn't on my radar. I wouldn't pay $200 for this. For $249 plus shipping, you can have a Masterpiece Prime with trailer and driver figure. No thanks. Will pass on this.
Yes, that's exactly what it is. Nothing extra, not even a little Diaclone Ape figure, just green plastic instead of the usual OP colors. Only thing that will make this desirable is its rarity, and the fact that it IS an G1 OP repaint.

Especially since I own the encore reissue.

Rodimus Prime wrote:I don't see the appeal. I actually like the shade of green on the cab, but the rest of it is just repulsive. And $250? I won't even buy the MP-10 for that much. And why is it even called Bathing Ape? That sounds more suited for Optimus Primal...
The clothing store it's being sold at is named A Bathing Ape.

Hi - Our supplier was only able to get a very small amount of this item, and has just informed us that this item has been sold out and they cannot fill our order. We are very sorry for the problem on this item. We will need to cancel all orders in our system and remove the item from our site. We apologize for the inconvenience.
So now no one gets one... I agree this figure wasn't very visually appealing, but I do love rare and exclusive figures and was hoping very much to obtain this... oh well!
