There's always an added insecurity when it comes to retailer exclusives. Good news for Canadians though, as of today all figures in the line have been found at Walmart stores. The voyagers were the first to comes out, followed by leader class Scourge, and the deluxes have just been found. Canada is receiving the line in case assortments, which is different than what has been seen in the US and UK. In the UK, it's all solid cases for all classes while in the US, the deluxes are in an assortment but the voyagers are sent in solid cases. The prices are 72.97 for leader, 47.97 for voyagers and 35.97 for deluxes. Those Canadian prices are similar to the US counterparts with the deluxes being the equivalent of $28 USD. Definitely a better price than the $45 Toysrus currently charges for their exclusive deluxe class Transformers.

Sightings are from various provinces (with multiple sightings in Quebec and Ontario), though the image below is from a Montreal Walmart. We also have reviews below pulled from members of our Seibertron community and others.

I got to thinking about Cosmos today and feel it probably was a difficult one to design due to the nature of the alt mode and having almost no room for robot body part storage while in that form. One thing that might have helped with the high top appearance of the center fuselage is for it to have been telescoping into itself? So that while in saucer mode it doesn't look as jarring, on the other hand it does kind of resemble description by some individuals of certain saucer sightings seen in 30's and 40's.

I thinks its accurate enough to what it is, dont know why everyone is complaining.

With it now in hand I have 0 issues with the proportions in alt mode (robot mode was already perfect). It looks like the G1 show. I got to say, this toy feels more of quality than most others this year. I was not overly impressed with anything Legacy wave 1 (just got Scourge to try out the Laser Prime mold and it is so underwhelming) but Cosmos is as good as Transformers get. Before we even get to transformation, the deco is stellar. The green colour used for the plastic feels full (if that makes sense) and the paint apps added work so well that it feels the entire figure is painted in alt mode. And I love getting some magic in my transformation. I got it with the heel transformation which is a perfect example of using the alt mode parts to great effect on the robot mode. The head transformation is exceptionally clever too. He also feels very solid and I like the multipurpose accessory. Best figure from Legacy so far (Blaster is great too, but that guy is from Kingdom).

I Thought the alt mode proportions are what they should be. But laser prime IS a great figure. But I saw scourge a Walmart and can say the deco probably changed your liking of it, it seems very bland in hand. Also, Blaster was planned for legacy but crossed into Kingdom, not the other way around. That's why he has a clear Eject, energon weapons are the gimmick for Legacy.

I hope you don't mind me butting in but I am really not a fan of that original override toy. Cubertron is one of the best lines we've ever gotten, but it had a few clunkers and I find override to be one of them.

I remember back in the day people complaining about the spring-loaded transformation but it never really bothered me, as I said to Counterpunch back then, you never saw a giant hand coming out of the sky to transform the robots. There were touches I liked, like having a hole in the gun to post the central piece into if you want weapon storage and not just in the back of the figure proper. There were some quibbles, like the rubber fins and gun barrels, but I liked it enough to get the GF black version.

thanks for reading my thoughts and sharing your reply. Yes, that's true Blaster was initially a Legacy toy, so he'll be a highlight for both lines. As for Laser Prime, I'd be surprised if it's a deco issue. While yes, there have been toys where a change in deco did make the toy better (Takara's Adventure Slipstream for instance), I thought the Prime deco was dull too. It's not an outright criticism as I know they are copying the original toy which was primarily grey in robot mode, I just happen to find that particular grey dull.

That would definitely explain your love for one steps as well. Many older fans don't realize that just as much care and thought go into that engineering process if not more since it is harder to come up with a transformation that completely changes the figure with so few steps. The same Takara designers who work on the MP line work on those simpler toys too and are as proud of their achievements.

You know, I have a 4 year old, and while he is surprisingly able to transform more advanced toys like Classic Prime and the recent Laser Prime, he has a great passion for one steps and built himself quite the collection too.

I just found out from a Japanese Galaxy Force promo that the reason Override had that spring-loaded transformation was to emphasize her status as the fastest 'bot on Speed Planet. As in, she's so fast that even her transformation is faster than others'.

Very cool and interesting. Doesn't make the toy better though.

(Also, Hot Shot may not have automorph but he can be transforned real fast)

Countries outside the US never know for sure if they will get a line of exclusives until they are found on shelves. So I'm happy to report that Australians have been finding the Velocitron line on shelves. It is a KMart exclusive in Australia and the entire line, from deluxes to the leader, have been found. Many sightings come from the Moreton Bay area, in Queensland. That's where the image below was taken by gollumn6874 who posted it on the TFW2005 message boards. It's interesting how for this particular line, continents from across the globe are getting these and distributing them within their respective stores (be it Smiths, Walmart or KMart) at the same time.

If you have found them, share your sightings with our community in the sightings section and on our boards in your region related thread.

I guess it's the fact that those giant pilons are now floating shoulderpads instead of being part of the arm in a single block like the original.

I find this silly complaining about that because that new design improves the articulations greatly.

Improves? How? On what?

Legacy Laser Prime and the original G2 Laser Prime have effectively the same range of movement on the shoulders.

G2 has the benefit of being able to look to the side when his arm is forward.

There only thing Legacy has over G2 is wrists and thighs.

I will jump on and agree that the new Laser Prime / Scourge mold just isn't that good.

I agree with Will that the legs are not that good, they are reused so already boring, but also they are too skinny for him, he does not have a muscular look to him, it just doesn't look that good, and the long legs can make posing the shorter arms and torso look weird.

I also don't like that the pylons are locked in place, articulation is limited that way. I also don't like how small the arms seem and feel, he just doesn't feel like he has strength behind him.

and that axe was definitely not needed. If anything, he needed a bigger and better sword, not an axe head attached to the bottom

The articulation isnt limited by the shoulder pylons. You cant move the front section forward when it gets in the way. He can t pose and reach back just fine. Gerwalk truck thanks to the earthrise legs. The axe is instead of his disks, I think they made the right choice. I'm also sure the sword is quite big enough.

The articulation actually is limited by the pylons. while you can move the shoulder front piece, you can still only raise his arm to parallel with the ground. With a character that gets a sword, they should be able to do a full arm in the air holding the sword pose. And he can't do that in a way that looks good.

Gerwalk modes should never come at the expense of actually looking good in the primary modes. And he would have have those if he had used new, better legs regardless.

Disks replaced with that axe is OK, but the sword and axe connection should have been better or they should have included a better spot to put the axe in the trailer if that were the case.

The gerwalk mode doesn't sacrifice anything. And the legs seem fine, what is wrong with them? Why do the sword and axe HAVE to connect well if at all. And the weapons store fin, the gun is exceptionally genious.

The legs are too long and too thin. The design of this mold originally had much bigger wheels on it, making his legs much bulkier. This one is just too thin, it does not look good to me. Same with the arms, both the arms and the legs are too lanky.

If the point of the energon weapons is to connect them, then the axe and sword should connect well. As is, they don't look like they go together, with part of the sword handle still sticking out despite the connection. It looks bad as a combined weapon.

I wasn't talking about alt mode storage, I was referring to there could have been some sort of port on the gun to make it look like it was launching the axe/disk, would have given it a better use.

I truly do believe this mold is a weaker design representation than the TR one, despite that one not having ankles or wrists. This one needed refined

For point of reference, Legacy Laser Prime reuses Siege Primes legs (via Earthrise Prime using them).

Hasbro probably see it as the genius of CAD that allows them to be more efficient.

Hasbro probably see it as the genius of CAD that allows them to be more efficient.

Very much agreed, I would have preferred all new tooling, but guess hasbro needed to save that cash >:oP

He is spectacular. He is the best figure to come out of the entirety of WFC.

Blasphemy! Sky Lynx erasure! It says "Magnificence" right on the toy!

No amount of Magnificence can save him from the fact that he was not worthy of the Matrix!

It's a fair cop, you got me there.

Too bad I can not GET a Rodimus Prime. Ironic, being my favorite character and all :-(

The titan returns shoulder cannons did not have the opening gimmick. The shoulders also stuck out in a sharp, ugly way. The legs are hollow to expose the nosecone of a jet mode he does not need. The color scheme kills me inside, it is a terrible shade of grey. The head sculpt on the Legacy is also way cooler, even though it has no headmaster gimmick. And don forget the tr dropped the battle platform for a wimpy third jet mode. It is also an expensive, hard to find exclusive.

The opening shoulders is hardly a game winning gimmick in the grand scheme of things. The legs aren't really that hollow, considering how much is crammed into them. The color scheme really isn't that bad, though I agree it could have been improved on the exclusive version. I'd argue the TR head sculpt was better, especially since Legacy Laser Prime has basically no eyes. titan master gimmick and shoulder opening gimmick kind of offset each other.

Jet mode is actually cool, and I prefer that to the battle platform. I generally don't like battle platforms unless they can attach to the bot in robot mode. They take up space, and unless you are Rodimus Prime, they usually don't have a lot to them unless you go back 20 years. Rodimus and SS-44 DotM Optimus are the lone exceptions to the base rule for me, Rodimus for the strong, stable platform with big guns and Prime since part of the trailer becomes his jetpack and the other part stands up and forms a proper weapons platform that is movie accurate. There is almost nothing in the Legacy Laser Prime mold that makes that trailer truly worth it, though I concede it is much better than the ER trailer.

In a year, Scourge and Laser Prime will probably be as expensive as the retail, Chaos on Velocitron, and Takara Laser Primes and Scourge.

So in the grand scheme of things, even when you include price since that will soon be a moot point, I stand by the statement that TR did it better as an update.

Very much an opinion I share. Plus RodimusPrimeUkraine1, remember that TR laser Prime was a redeco/retool of Octane/Tankor while Megatron was clearly another use of the Blitzwing mold.

The opening shoulders count for something. I guess it ties with the headmaster gimmick sure. Even if you prefer the jet mode to the battle station, it is not accurate to the classic or original interpenetration of the character, therefore it does not make up for the lack of a battle platform and is irrelevant and a negative quality.

In the end, I do not think you can prove to me that the laser prime is better, you arguments have so far been invalid or ties. The only argument that makes sense is the shoulder pads locking in place.

The legacy is more accurate to the original laser optimus prime except the lack of forest fire stickers.

The legacy has more articulation

In my mind, Legacy wins

Though the fact I got $10 off may be a bit bias.

Eh I think you were meant to quote D-Maximal_Primal in that post as it was him who wrote all that. Also he wasn't trying to prove to you why tr was better as a fact, he was saying why he preferred tr over Legacy. You say that he can't prove it to you, but that does mean it works both ways.

I have seen scourge on the shelf, easy skip

The colors do not suck, they just look bland. Dark. Boring. Meanwhile my Laser Prime has a better color palette. Maybe scourge is supposed to look bland and dark, but I do not like it. I thought the tr laser prime looked fine until I saw the OG and the Legacy and changed my mind. I would say more but I need to go.

I enjoy both TR and Legacy. Both have issues. I think overall Legacy is still a bit better, since he actually gets wrists and ankle tilts. I find the pre-sculpted feet a bit annoying to pose on the TR version added to the fact the shin panels they are connected to don't actually stay in place well.

Outside of that, TR is a lot fun, but I find myself playing around with Legacy more.

If anything I would have preferred the Earthrise hands.

The legs do seem a bit too long, but not sure they are too thin. The original G2 Prime has very thin thighs.

Also the legs end up being a mix of Siege: shins and feet, earth rise: thighs and hips; and new tooling: Back of the lower legs.

As a fan of the toys, I'm disappointed in how they did things and would have preferred new legs. But as an engineer, I'm actually pretty impressed on how they designed things and think they might have planned the evolution from Siege to ER to Laser right from the beginning.

As you mention, they re-use the shins and feet from Siege and the thighs and hips from ER. If you really look at the Siege mold layout, I believe all the re-used parts are on a single sprue with only a few other parts that are not re-used. This was the blue sprue for ER Prime, which explains why ER Prime's hands needed to be painted.

Then again on ER mold layout, the re-used parts for Laser are all on the same sprue again with only a few other parts that are not re-used.

I just hope to god we don't get a 4th "new" mold that re-uses Siege shins and feet, ER thighs and hips, and something from Laser as well.

I also didn't get Scourge, but it was because the splashes of pink he has. If he was teal, gray and black only, I probably would have gotten him.

My biggest fear, a G1-ified Movie Prime using Siege shins and feet, ER legs and hips, the Laser long nose cab shell on a new torso where the cab front becomes the forearms instead of the pylons.

That would suck sooo bad.

What's funny is that we do already have a G1-ified Movie Prime toy that's based on Laser Optimus. ;)
