As a refresher of what this set entails, the "classic" Grimlock uses the Energon mold with a deco that homages the original Generation One Grimlock more closely, and the Age of Extinction Voyager Grimlock with slight deco differences from the regular retail release of the figure. Also to note, the "classic" Grimlock uses a red version of the sword that came with the Generation One Predacon leader, Razorclaw.

Funny, my TRU had evo Strafe, but not Slug. Granted, Strafe sold out in less than a day, but that's cuz his regular Generations toy isn't out yet, so evo Slug shouldn't have sold out even faster.

I think this might be the first sighting of the Slug 2-pack, actually.

I sent an email about this to the news team a few days ago, may I ask what happened?
I bought this set, incidentally. Mainly since I figured Grimlock's not going to look like either version of the toy in the movie, so I may as well get the deco I think looks better. The Energon figure is NOT worth the extra $15, though, I'm a bit annoyed by that. If the set had been $30 total I'd feel a lot better, but as it is I'm getting some buyer's remorse. Movie Grimlock is great, though. I can take some shots if anybody wants them.

i'm sooo excited for hound. i already feel like he'll be one of may favorites.
also.. i'm super curious to see if a third party will give him some accessories to bulk him up.. he needs it, and it would look awesome.
also.. galvatron is going to look fantastic once he's gets some silver thrown on him.
i can't wait to see comparisons on how much better takara's version of hound is than hasbro's.

Yesterday, after a somewhat failed trip to Target and Toys "R" Us in Erie PA, I called the Mentor OH Target in the hopes of finding wave 2 figures after hearing rumors of their retail release. I was incredibly fortunate because sure enough, they had them!
I bought the last Slash and one of the two Drift figures, and they were priced at $14.99 each. Also in my sightings (unfortunately I do not have visual proof as my phone was busy charging in the car at the time) I stumbled across wave 2 of the Power Attackers line, which includes Drift and Scorn! Both of those are currently available at the Mentor TRU.
And, like Va'al said in his news posting:
Va'al wrote:Make sure to use our Sightings page to help out fellow fans, and dive into the Sightings forums for more about your area, too!
And now, for the pictures of my find! I included the image of Drift from the instruction sheet to show you that all of his blades can, in fact, store on his back in robot mode. The holes in the ceiling that hold the tonfa blades in vehicle mode, can be used in robot mode, as well. I felt it should be noted because the instructions don't show you that it can be done in robot mode, just the vehicle mode.

No pics, but I held them side-by-side at TRU today. Two differences were apparent:
2-pack version has some extra black paint apps.
2-pack version has a gray (unpainted) T-Rex head instead of the silver on the standard version.

This is the one where Grimlock is his G1 dino mode only and comes with Kreon Optimus, Bumblebee, Galvatron and Lockdown plus the bonus G1 Grimlock Kreon with crown. It was $24.99 at TRU in Winston-Salem, NC. I'll try to get pictures later.
Ack, gonna have to check out the Raleigh one I guess. Really excited for that set.

This is the first set I've gotten from the Target exclusive Age of Extinction line. Both Grimlock and Optimus Prime are decked out in nice shinny chrome, especially Prime who is practically covered in Silver. Grimlock features the same accessories from the FOC figure while Prime comes with a G1 Predacon sword. I highly recommend this set especially if you missed out on getting either of these figures.

Seibertron took some pictures of a wave 1 figure, which was used to create Slug's gallery over here, and compared it with a wave 2 packaged figure and it showed a very noticeable change in which the horns are now rounded with very soft looking edges.
Seibertron included the packaging code in the picture below, and the number is 40941. The wave 1 packaging carries the following number: 40551. I've included that image from my personal collection. Fortunately, the codes aren't exactly necessary as the different horn tips are easily seen through the packaging bubble.
Without further ado, the images:

Drift is really cool. Simple, classic car transformation combined with tight joints and good poseability. Has a "real" car chest; no fakery. Head sculpt is unique and cool. All four swords stow away in car mode. I like how the doors fold back to form armor for his upper arms. The only nits I have to pick are the lack of rotating wrists and limited ankle movement.
Strafe is awesome. I was confused at first because he's packaged with his upper body in bot mode and legs in beast mode. Most impressive is that he has a huge wingspan, but the wings fold up nicely behind his back in bot mode. You can give the bot mode a lot of different looks by playing around with the wings. I also love the silver paint on the wings. Posing him in beast mode is tricky, but that's always the case with bird-like alt modes. The ability to bend the wings so he sort of walks on all-fours is cool.
Slash is... exactly what I thought he would be. A cool-LOOKING beast mode and a crummy bot mode. I say cool-LOOKING best mode because it has little articulation aside from the lower jaw opening. There's not much you can do in terms of posing it, so it's play value is limited. I'm not sure how I feel about the big rubbery tail. And the bot mode, well, let's just say he's staying in beast mode. I can't think of anything positive to say about the bot mode. I mostly bought it because I plan on buying all the dinobots, and at least he'll look cool in dino mode when displayed among the rest of the dinobots. At least his colors are cool.

If we could "Like" a posting on this site, I would have done so for your response, Sir. You hit it right on the head.
Just IMAGINE all the little tikes waiting in emergency rooms all over the country with Dinobot Slugs stuck in their faces if they hadn't made this running change! Oh, the horror!

I know, right? The Construct Bot sets come with hard, pointy swords that one would think are clearly deadlier than Slug's tiny horns. Wtf?

I think it also has something to with those parts being likely to break off, then be swallowed by little tikes. >:oP

Haven't been on the boards in a while so I probably missed this info, but is this Silver Knight Optimus thing Target is doing actually something from the film or is it just an excuse for a variant?
Feel free to PM if there are AoE spoilers involved.
Thanks!

The whole "Silver Knight" thing isn't an isolated case, as there are more releases of similar nature, all Target exclusives so far except for the Kre-O sets, which are Toys "R" Us.

The answer to whether or not the "Silver Knight" thing actually pertains to something that happens in the film is an easy one to give: "We don't know."JBPrime wrote:Hi guys,
