Needlenose is without a doubt the one I will vote for.

Yes for Needlenose here as well.
The choices are a bit weird, it is almost like Hasbro really just wanted a vote between Needlenose and Runabout/Runamok and said lets put 2 characters we've already done reasonably well in there for filler.

Edit: Whoops, forgot Takara had a recolor of the Blackjack mold in the Adventure line for the battlechargers

Talking about throwing things out of the window... Gnaw??? Wrong time zone let alone we have TR and cyber verse that are usable (especially cyber verse). Maybe we will see some out of time/place cybertronians in siege line after all (excluding faction change jet fire which already breaks the time line). Galvatron may be sooner than we think (and he time travels anyhoos).

Needlenose would be pretty sweet too, but I have a feeling he'd be based off his original toy instead of his TCG design

Although Needlenose could get retooled into Jhiaxus, so there's that possibility as well

Runabout and Runmauck may look similar, but each sports a different car mode and head design. Speaking of which, it's probably the white Runamuck in the silhouette, judging by the head and faceplate, not to mention his gun:
Transformers G1 1986 Runabout Gallery
Transformers G1 1986 Runamuck Gallery
Makes sense, the "Runamuck" trademark was still available back in 2012, while "Runabout" was not, being replaced with "Over-Run" for the 2012 Club toy.
Yep, if one gets made, the other will be his pretool. Calling it right now!

Gnaw has a legends figure, an upcoming deluxe for Cyberverse and an older deluxe.
Shrapnel has a legends figure that was released twice outside of Japan.
The Battlechargers have both deluxe and legends figures.
I'm good on all of these choices already.
I get that not everyone (like myself) was able to get all of them as several were exclusives but still, these are some shitty choices.
The only ones I'm missing out of the figures we already got are both versions of Runamuck and Botcon Gnaw. Also Cyberverse Gnaw as it's not out yet. So I guess my vote would be for Runamuck, if it is revealed to be him specifically as he's the only one I don't have any version of currently.

Obviously I'd love to see a total random like Stalker thrown in, but I guess it's hard for Hasbro to move past the first two years. At least they're showing some Decepticon love for once I guess.

Not for main retail, tho. Needlenose hasn't had a proper main retail release in ages, Runabout/Runamuck... somewhat. CW Blackjack was originally made to be Runabout, and was redecoed as him for TF Adventure:
Transformers Adventures Runabout Gallery
With Runamuck as a mail order redeco.

We haven't had a proper ICBM Tank for a good while, haven't we?

No we haven't.
The mold itself could be re-used for a Machine Wars Soundwave, or even Cybertron Defense Red Alert.
Yeah I'm a Stalker fanboy, but honestly, Stalker, the Predators and the Turbomasters all have so much potential and I'm sure people would like some different characters for once.

Welcome to the eternal pandering that is Generations from now on. I've once theorized that, once the trilogy kicked off by Siege is over that the fanbase (at least the older fans) will experience serious G1 fatigue once Hasbro end up constantly remaking the same characters over and over and over...
At least for Siege it did win even skeptics like me over purely on the fact that, yes, the toys are just that good as far as mass retail goes. HOWEVER! If Hasbro start being afraid of moving past the '84 to late '85/Movie lineup this brand will die off. There are many, many G1 characters still left without a modern update but companies have to do what is profitable and I suspect the 'guys in suits' think it would be only profitable to keep making the '84/'85 guys-that-everybody-knows and throw fans and design a bone by 'spicing up' these lines with some characters who did need love (see: CW Liokaiser, TR having the likes of Overlord and Sixshot and Siege having city-bots buddies as 'Weaponizers'). In the long run this business model cannot be sustained, at least not for a line like Generations. Yes, every new cartoon will always have a new Optimus, Megatron, Starscream or Bumblebee but this is CHUG, the 'classics' line.
Look I understand they need the heavy hitters on the shelves for monetary and branding reasons. However, with Gnaw and Shrapnel I worry Hasbro is gonna be going in circles already. At least you could argue Runabout and/or Runamuck aren't quite such a case given their recent-ish toys weren't mainline toys and despite being part of the 'oldschool G1 crew' they're not exactly big names. More like crowd-filling cronies.
However, Needlenose need a new toy because DAMN IT HASBRO, YOU'RE DOING TARGETMASTERS AGAIN! Just retool Impactor into Quake and release him alongside Needlenose and Spinister. Beside, the WFC trilogy need more Decepticons at the deluxe price point. This is basically no-Horrocons-for-Titans-Return levels of mishandling.
ZeroWolf wrote:I'm in it for Needlenose, though if he's not chosen, do you think we'll see him back for 2021 vote
Needlenose is gonna end up like those type of politicians who always run but never win and yet can't get a clue. Except people like Needlenose.

It's the predominant social media, they're using it because that is quite literally the best method of reaching their fan base and gauging their opinions.
If people aren't on Facebook, they miss out, that % of people will be barely a blip to them.

Sentinel_Primal wrote:I do wish Hasbro would stop using Facebook as their polling site
Agreed 100%, especially since I'm not on any social media platform but its probably more cost effective than setting up a poll on their own site.
You guys are good. I would have had no idea who the silhouette for C was, even though I have the TFCC version of Needlenose. I'm sure he will be the winner since:
1. Schrapnel's T30 figure, was just re-released in 2018 as part of PotP
2. Gnaw was just released as part of TR
3. Runabout/Runamuck were released as exclusives in Japan under the legends line. Also speaking of Legends...
These three were all part of this size class. Since Needlenose was part of the TFCC, but integrated into the CW aesthetic, I wonder if he wins then this will mean... That the Legends size class will be returning for the 2020 Generations line?
I mean it is pretty silly after all. 2 would be obvious reissues, and the 3rd Hasbro could just swipe from TT the deco of the already existing Legends Blackjack Figure...Unless...there is some stipulation in the wording of the contest (which I cannot see to confirm for myself) that this would be an ALL NEW figure, no matter the result of the poll...

A. Blatantly wrong answer
B. Close to the right answer
C. Obviously the right answer if you think about it
D. Obviously wrong answer
Skritz wrote: Long post about G1 rehash burnout
I agree with basically everything you said here, although I disagree that we need a new Quake so soon after the TR one, part of your whole argument and the problem with this poll in the first place is that it has two characters who just got figures in Prime Wars. Also, why did Needlenose specifically come back, but not Spinister? He would easily be a better choice than Gnaw at least.

Also great alternative options, although wouldn't Stalker specifically be better as a Voyager?

Well yeah, but I wasn't thinking about class sizes. I just want Stalker.
And the rest of the Predators and Turbomasters but mostly Stalker.

The thing, with Gnaw and Shrapnel is that they not only already got a toy, but flat out got one that work. There is nothing new to add to Gnaw and Shrapnel except maybe making them bigger.
Admittedly I do wish they were deluxes, but I would rather we get characters who haven't had toys in a while.

I'm curious if people would be against a new, full function Doubledealer figure that could be retooled into Stalker even if it meant Stalker being a triplechanger? I mean, a bird of prey is a fitting thing for him to turn into and it would let him fly around like his teammates.
o.supreme wrote:3. Runabout/Runamuck were released as exclusives in Japan under the legends line.
That's not a thing that exists. They were released in the Adventures line, but they were at Hasbro's Legends scale since they were CW Blackjack repaints/retools. Plus one was a mail away exclusive that you had to buy a book to order making it extra difficult to get. Hasbro and Takara Tomy both should consider these two and Needlenose as priorities.

I like the idea, but I'd be conflicted. Mostly because if we get a new Doubledealer, I'd hope he'd have his powermaster gimmick or something similar to it. But that gimmick doesn't suit Stalker. On the other hand, Stalker having a flight mode might be nice just so, as Emerje said, he'd be able to fly around with his teammates

At first I was like - why Gnaw and Shrapnel again? Then after reading the thread I was reminded that Siege doesn't have legend class. A deluxe Gnaw would be a great leader for my sharktiarmy. Then that got me thinking that I'd give a left nut to finish this team.william-james88 wrote:
