Yeah, should be around 100$ on BBTS, like the previous exclusive toys:

Well, if the info from Toy Fair 2015 is to be believed, Blackjack WAS originally going to be Runabout (And Offroad was going to be Ruckus. Funny how the repaints worked out.), so a repaint of him as Runamuck makes sense.

Jesus, no thank you. I'd do it for like $50 but $100 is WAY too much for two legends.

While the price may appear nuts, the actual way of getting these normally might be too much work. You have to buy the million publishing book on hlj, then order these toys using the mail order form in the magazine and mail them to a japanese middleman who will then send them back to you. So you are paying for a book, 2 figures and shipping 3 times. The price on BBTS is the cost of all this with a bit of a markup for their trouble.

That's a whole lot of hoopla just to get two little dudes, so I guess the price is justified.

i thought i had even already seen some colour pics.
from
http://www.transformertoys.co.uk/transf ... ages/12627
with the above i assumed runabout will come along too sometime..
anybody?
if thats the case its good i still have an extra blackjack, cos a repaint is soo much better than paying 50$ for something that is usually worth 10$

It would have been nice to have runamuck-bout as original figures but not for this price.
...and just to spell it out with runamuk at 50$ (plus expedition) its the same price as iron factorys prowl,bluestreak... trio, or for the same 50$ i could get iron factory, soundwave, perceptor ravage and the birds, plus 6 guns. or for a little more than 100$ i could get unique toys hulkie. thats a wopping 6 figures, with so much more articulation and detail than a mold worth 10$.
get ready for a new radicon trend.

Apples and oranges buddy. These are not made for anyone outside japan to attempt owning.

I updated the article with the ricing info found here:
purchase price: 1 set ¥ 5,000 (base price 3800 yen + postage commission consumption tax ¥ 1,200) 2 set 9400 yen (base price 7600 yen + postage commission consumption tax ¥ 1,800) ※ 1 piece of You can buy up to two set by postcard.
So foreveryone wondering what that means:
If you have a friend in japan, he can purchase a set for you and for him and they cost 40.78$US for each set of TWO figures. That is the same price if not less than botcon exclusives. If you do not have a friend in japan or an address there, then you will have to rely on an unofficial distribution channel that will have a severe markup. But that is how much it might cost you and not the actual price of the figures.
The figures themselves are priced 40$ for a 2 figure set.

I know, that's why I mentioned it... they 'reverted' offroad to ruckus, maybe they would've thought to do this too; Besides, is there a rule somewhere that says they can't?

A recent podcast confirmed there was such a rule. They could not redeco Armada Starscream as super mode starscream because Takara was doing it. So they wouldnt be able to do this if Takara already did it. If they were able to just give us stateside releases of Takra only products, they would have given us a lot of other stuff over the years instead of their own thing.

So people don't have to pay through the nose and jump through hoops for a d!ck-move exclusive.
I'm not just saying that as an American either, seeing as it's probably just as irritating to get it if you live in Japan. But also: 'Why would they?' Why bother trying to get this over in japan if you missed out on the short run of Runabout's

The Club has as much hoops some. First you have to buy membership, then be a member, then each figure would cost between double and triple retail plus there is the shipping and customs fee which is a big amount for any non american. For a guy living in Britain for instance, both are as tedious and expensive.
EDIT: Its actually worse than that since the suggestion was to make these bonuses for the subscription set. Which means that you would have to buy all the figures to get just those two. That means that instead of spending 100$ at BBTS, you are stuck paying 350$+ to make sure you get these. Replacing an exclusive with another exclusive doesnt lead most of us anywhere.

Its more of a limitation than a rip off since takara isnt making any money on this (moreso than usual). Its more them saying "you cant have it ". You have every right to be angry as I too find this unfair, but we should at least be correct in what we are mad about.

I'm honestly surprised hasbro isn't splurging these two out in a 2-pack, they seem so into the idea of repaints right now
Do they even know the amount of cash and cred they'd get for doing this?
(these would be 'unaltered' too, no 'dumb sticker's'...)

Hasbro could do it down the road. Do we have precedent for Hasbro releasing a deco only takara had done before? I know they have released molds that takara released first, but not sure about decos.

There is also the fact that it is assumed the people who get the subscription service are fan enough to be aware of what is coming out on the takara side. Those same fans already probably bought a Runabout, so I can only imagine the ugly backlash if the club gave them the exact same toy as the surprise 7th figure.

Value is in the eye of the beholder. For someone who don't care about toys, your 10$ Runabout is worth NOTHING. I don't care about collector card so that old baseball card is just a peice of cardboard.
Catch my drift?
You don't think thing X should be worth Y, just don't buy it.

So are you angry at all Botcon releases as well? Or any TF club releases? Or any platinum release? What about e-hobby stuff? Or other convention exclusives? Because NONE sell at the same retail price.
And also you are wrong about your pricing. The asking price on these 2 figures is 40$ US for a 2 pack.
And yes, you are dead wrong about the comparison. Youa re comparing toys that are meant to be sold throughout the world to toys that are meant to only be sold in one location. So I guess maybe not apples and oranges but more like tomatoes and dragon fruit.

one of the whole points of passing to a legend scale collection as opposed to mp, or whatever, is price and space of course. Atleast for me, so please don't take it personally if I rant about it on these , totally unrelated forums..
but seriously and on a more friendly tone, one of the pros of a legend scale collection opposed to MP really is price, exclusives like this really feel like they want to milk you dry, and using a 10$ mold and inflating its price is not a good way to create customer fidelity.
If hasbro were to do this it would be an easy 20$ for the two battle chargers. Our podcast has already pronounced itself on club exclusives, and its such an old debate that it better be left to rest, but the kind of person who goes legend scale is on the opposite side of the line to the kind of collector that buys club exclusives.

I have trouble understanding what I highlighted above.
Firstly, who is milking us dry? Who do you personally believe is profiting from what these will be costing stateside?
Also, the prices on these are due to the exact same reason of club exclusives. So if that debate is better off put to rest, why are you still adamantly speaking your mind here. It is the same issue so I fail to see why you would speak up about this when you have (wisely) chosen to ignore the other exclusives. Same issue, same argument, so why not put it all to rest?
Also just personal curiosity (definitely on a friendly note), in a legends class collection, wouldnt these two be too big? Wouldnt they look really big compared to a legends Magnus, for instance?

Also, nobody care's who's making the profit out of it, consumers aren't really worried about that, what does concern them is what is (or isn't anymore) in their wallets. What is kinda weird is that expressing these natural concerns on these forums is trolled upon.
the above are totally unrelated to the club exclusive issue, what seems to be missed here is that the first (and probablly most important) consideration most collectors make about buying or not buying a figure is price. The reason for which a product is overpriced is hardly going to impact on the decision of buying or not..
as the ultra magnus issue u should check out iron factory legend scale ultra magnus. its the same scale as their legend scale evil lord and works well with the current legend scale.
