RUMOUR: Jazz to Return for Transformers 2?

I grudgingly front page this...

At this rate we'll have no new characters in the second movie. Why not bring back Bonecrusher, Brawl, Frenzy and Blackout too? And have them re-do everything they did in the first film. They could call it "Transformers Again"

It reminds me of all the anti-Arcee people who complained that Arcee would just take the spot of another more deserving character. So is bringing back Jazz any better? At least Arcee would replace said "more deserving character" with a new character - why do they have to fill up the on-screen cast with robots who have already been in the first film and died, aren't there enough bots in the TF Universe to choose from without having to bring back the dead ones?

As much as I hate to, I completely agree with you. I dont want to see ANY of the Transformers get revived, ressurrected, ensparkened, whatever you wanna call it.

Besides, new toys are so much better.

I see the end of Transformers 2 already:

Ratchet:"They killed Jazz again!"
Optimus:"Oh, poor Jazz... You Bastards!"

You folks ever think it might be part of a flashback?

I also hope this is untrue. We would then have a beast wars style story where, no matter how many times you get blown to bits you can get put back together. This would also subtract from the first movie as his death was meaningless (although it mostly was anyways.)

Someone should tell the filmmakers that... you know... it's just Jazz... It's not like it was Optimus Prime who died... We loved Jazz and everything, but I think we can live without him.

I liked him and everything, his movie design is great and the vehicle mode is perfect, but if we're only getting maybe three movies, can we concentrate on new characters? Jazz had his time in the sun, he was a classic enough character to deserve to make it to the big screen. He did. We got our "Movie Jazz". He died. It was sad. But let's move on, shall we...

well if bumble bee can change his form mid movie, i don't see why they cant have the technology to rebuild someone.

part of the problem is that maybe jazz is such a popular character and there was so much disappointment in how he was handled that they want to make it better. however i do agree that its going to be bad enough if they bring back one character they can bring back them all and they can never die. with such an expansive universe of characters you would think that maybe they could try some new characters. if star wars is any indication of things to come, i suspect prime will die by the end of the second movie. but really once a character is killed off, let them stay dead unless its needed to progress the story/alternate time line.

Plus, they only killed Jazz because he was the third most likeable character, after Bumblebee and Optimus, so they might actually bring him back.
And just because they ressurect a single Autobot doesn't mean there's no room for new characters. Honestly, there isn't exactly a population cap, is there?

Exactly. It's information regarding who may appear in Transformers 2. I think that's news people would want to hear about.

Im waiting to see how Will Smith will work his way into the movie, seeing as he's doing all the kickass movies now. You heard it from First Gen first.

Actually, I said this a while back: the Allspark remain will be studied by Ratchet and discovered to be regenerating in much the same way that the TF armor does. They will subsequently name the radiation given off "Energon" due to its energizing properties. From there it will be discovered that the "radiation" is actually a form of atom-sized robots. They will regenerate Jazz in the same way Frenzy's body was regenerated in the first movie. From there, the Autobots will conclude that Megatron, since his spark merged with the Allspark, will also have regenerated and taken a new Earth form in disguise. The movie plot will revolve around the search for the origin of the AllSpark, eventually leading to the discovery of Primus and Unicron.

I could care less about the story, I just want to see more CGI!

Fair enough. Just thought it was overkill for a rumour.

Though when Megs rips Jazz apart, you see his Spark flash brightly then fade out (it's quick, but certainly there. Watch where the seperation is). That's why Jazz should stay dead. His body wasn't just pulled apart, his very Spark was destroyed.

Wow, thats just, wow.

I like the idea of it, but I don't see the movie going that way. With so many new characters to introduce, I dont know about that.

Plus your theory about the atom size bots means that all TF's are in actuality MEGA gestalts in themselves, being made up of millions of atom sized bots.

That's why there is going to be a disclaimer at the end of every news story regarding leaked TF2 info, and everything will be classified as a RUMOUR until substantial proof is given to support it.

Thats both good and bad news for me, I'm glad to see the second in command back, and he was only ripped in half, transformers have survived worse, but I know in my heart that it isn't right to revive dead characters. I would rather see Jazz back through, then have Arcee in the movie and cause of that commotion, as a survivor of the orginal movie Jazz deserved better anyway. Starscream and Jazz are very similiar in the sense that you just can't kill them.

Someone else mentioned that Jazz's spark was snuffed out; I would propose that each atom-bot in Jazz's frame was imprinted with his being and should be able to regenerate it; I think they'd make the Spark more of the body's heart as opposed to its brain.

A flashback makes a lot of sense, also it could be something where you see ratchet working on him periodically through the movie and at the end he is rebuilt to set up the third movie where it could be a big bang fight where all the help the bot have is needed.

A little like Pirates 2 and 3 but hey it's hollywood. Can you really put anything past them.

As much as I enjoy Jazz's character, and as much as I like Darius McRary, I thought his lines as Jazz were god-awful. I hope they get a better Voice director for TF2. I agree with the above statements about hoping that this is a flashback; that would make the most sense. But, this is probably just false info, anyway.

He got that whole movie care package a few months ago.

As a Jazz fan I have mixed feelings about this. As much as I want to see Jazz in the movies again there are so many other characters that need screen time. Plus, dead should be dead. They shouldn't have killed him off in the first place, but now that it's been done to undo it would only cheapen his death even further.

I hope this is one of the false rumors. A Jazz return would kill the movie credibility. Next off, Green Bonecrusher will emerge from the jungles of South America and Prime can rip his head off again. Welcome to Transformer land where no one ever dies.

If Jazz does come back he needs a new voice actor. Id say get Phillip Michael Thomas and have him do the Lance Vance voice from Grand Theft Auto. Pick up Vice City stories and Listen to Lance. Sounds like G1 Jazz.

If Uncle Ben and Willem Dafoe can keep making appearances in the Spider-Man movies despite the fact they died in the first film, I suppose Jazz can make it into TF2 somehow.

I still doubt we're going to see Jazz again. I could see Darius McCrary possibly being asked back again to do other voices though.

I don't know how I feel about Jazz returning.... He is one of my faves next to Bumblebee (if they kill him someone will have to die), but it is probably for the best....

I can support this idea primarly because the autobots need SOMEONe test out the Allspark shard, and with Megs having a big portion inside him, he has the ability to turn anything he touches into a transformner, thus creating a quick army of new descepticons. POssibly renaming himsself Galvatron because GALVanize means to forge from metal...least thats what i remember it essentially means
