-Update-
AC Toys have posted an image of what the new paper heads will look like:
Seems that the Head is "clipped" onto the top of the windscreen in robot mode.

That's pretty much a guarantee.

Agreed. I'd love it if they actually had new sculpted heads.

I don't see how a couple of botcon exclusives from a few years ago would effect the upcoming classics 2.0.

I think its because at the last Bot-Con a roumer got around that we would see "one" better rendision of the Ironhide/Ratchet G1 character in the upcoming year.
This would now seem to be that one.

I don't think this is the IH/R thing we were told about
At least I hope it isn't.

Stickers will suck big time.
Should have remoulded the seats with a head scupt under it. Rotate it up, and presto!

If they wanted actual heads, it's probably be a better idea to have heads that could "slot into" the seats.

This will be a good compromise, if they can't remould the seats to include the head.

Either way, I'm very excited to be getting Ratchet again. He was my first Transformer, and I've wanted a replacment for a long time.

I know where there from but from what I remember hearing at Botcon they really didnt specify wether it Ironhide/Ratchet thing was going to be coming out of Takara or Hasbro.
I remembr the statement being a bit more general.....just saying that we would see something we've been wanting with the two characters but not who would be bringing it to us.

Well, the point of the Encore reissues is to reissue 20+ year old figures. I don't see the point of reissuing the same figures every time a series of reissues comes out. Ratchet and Ironhide were put out a coupla' years ago by e Hobby, but I think this is their first wide scale issue since 1984. Other figures though, like Jazz and Starscream, why do they need to be reissued every time a set of reissues comes out?
As far as the redesigning is concerned, I don't think there's really a point in that either. Botcon Ratchet and Ironhide are about as excellent as any toys bearing those names can get.

I seriously doubt that this is what they were talking about. It's just too minor and...well, crap.

I think they deserve updated designs.
While the botcon versions are quite awesome, being botcon exclusives they are pretty hard to get.
I'm hoping to see these characters redone in Classics 2.0. I'd be very happy if they did a wide release of the botcon versions, but those who bought the exclusives would be PO'd!!!

True, true. I'm not saying not to update them for Classics 2.0, I just think the Botcon Ironhide is probably the best possible Ironhide iteration. I don't have Ratchet, but the Ironhide is really something to behold. Yes, too expensive and limited for everyone who wants one to have one, but that doesn't detract from their near-perfect status.

I think it does detract from their status ... mainly because I don't have 'em
