Toyfare #140- Just released on Wednesday to comic book stores,
Toyfare #140 has a few pages teasing upcoming Transformers ROTF movie toys, and movie plotlines. Containing interviews with movie producer
Lorenzo di Bonaventura, as well as, Hasbro senior design director for TF and GI JOE toy lines
Aaron Archer, and Hasbro's marketing director,
Greg Lombardo.
**You should note that there are a few movie spoilers, and confirmations of previous rumors ahead, so caution is advised if you want to be oblivious to movie information (good luck!).**
-MAJOR CHARACTER INFORMATION SPOILER! The Fallen character is an original member of the race, one of the famed original 13, similar it seems to his Dreamwave comics origin. He is credited with having split the Transformers race into Autobots and Decepticons, as is being hinted at in the new IDW Transformers movie prequel series, [i]Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Defiance. (Resize for information)
-The film's timeline is said to take place approximately one year after the original movie takes place.
-In the film, when Devastator makes his appearance you can expect him to be a whopping 100-120 feet tall.
-The Soundwave and Bumblebee preview toys will be released approximately two weeks before the rest of the line is to be released on May 30th.
-Soundwave's toy design is a combination of his movie design, and Hasbro's need for the toy to be a bit more basic. There is a reason for the way he is designed in the film, but that would be telling, which they are not.
-Pictures of the new ROTF leader class Optimus Prime toy adorn one of the magazine's covers, and is also shown inside along with the NEW Voyager Starscream toy.
-As we have seen, there will be more 'off-screen' characters included in the toy line than for the previous movie.
-A 'big ticket' deluxe sized item is hinted at, but no details are given. TOP SECRET.
-The first wave of characters includes: Sideswipe, Sideways, and more...
-Archer would like to see a Megan Fox Human Alliance set. It's on his famous 'wish list'.
-Robot Heroes will have better articulation
-Gravity bots are for young kids and convert automatically when picked up.

The gentlemen over at Auto Assembly have sent out another press release about the upcoming Transformers convention to be held in the UK. G1 fans rejoice! Gregg Berger has just been announced as an attending guest for the event. Here's the info:
Gregg Berger To Attend Auto Assembly 2009!!
After weeks of speculation, Europe's largest Transformers convention Auto Assembly 2009, is proud to announce it's second voice actor for it's convention taking place over the weekend of 15th-16th August 2009...
Joining our first voice actor, Ian James Corlett (the voice of Cheetor from Beast Wars and Beast Machines) will ne none other than Gregg Berger, the voice of Grimlock and Skyfire and a host of other characters from G1!! Fans have been asking us for several years to bring Gregg over to the UK to appear at an Auto Assembly convention and we are excited to be able to make this a reality in the 25th Anniversary year of Transformers!
Gregg will be actively involved with the convention all weekend and for those of you who aren't sure about whether to book for the weekend or wait until we release single day tickets, when you find out what Gregg will be doing, you won't want to miss out on the full weekend! As well as signing autographs for fans all weekend, Gregg will be taking to the stage for a talk/Q&A session on one of the days (the exact day to be confirmed), he will be joining Ian James Corlett and comic artist Simon Williams on stage on Saturday evening for the live script reading which is being written by Simon Furman (and the evening programme is exclusive for weekend attendees), and he will be involved in another part of the main programme item during the weekend which will be on the DIFFERENT day to his talk/Q&A session so to see everything Gregg will be doing, you need to be there all weekend!
As is the standard policy for Auto Assembly, Gregg will NOT be charging for autographs but he will be bringing along a selection of items for sale including photos, CDs and DVDs which you can get signed but please feel free to have any of your own items autographed freely... including the Auto Assembly 2009 convention exclusive Grimlock postcard being illustrated by Andrew Wildman!
With a staggering 13 guests, there have never been a better time for you to attend Auto Assembly if you have never been before! Auto Assembly will be a packed weekend running from around 10:00 am until about 6:00 pm each day with a bonus programme on Saturday evening until 1:00 am and a small bonus programme on Friday evening, both for weekend attendees only.
In terms of activities, this will be the biggest and best Auto Assembly yet with dealers tables, guest talks (13 guests so far with at least two different panels each day, splitting our guest talks so no guest will talk more than once over the weekend), live script reading featuring Ian James Corlett and Gregg Berger, autograph sessions, artist sketches, artist workshops, comic colourist workshops, toy displays, art displays, charity auction, charity raffle, fan displays, quiz, video screenings, art, fiction and costume competitions, games area, a party and disco running until 1:00 am on Sunday, a possible cinema screening of Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen and much more besides...
The convention will be taking place right in the heart of Birmingham city centre in England at the Holiday Inn Birmingham City Centre, Smallbrook Queensway, Birmingham. One of Seibertron.com's newest members, GM_Designer, has posted information on new video footage of the General Motors designed Autobot vehicles that will be showcased in the upcoming
Chicago Auto Show. Here's what GM_Designer had to share with us:
Hi Guys,
My name is Stephen Gray and I am a designer at GM.
As you no doubt know already we are showing 5 vehicles at the Chicago Auto Show which are the actual props from the new Transformers Movie. There is also a full sized Bumblebee in robot form and an exclusive trailer.
If any of you who have questions for GM design, I will do my best to answer them!

Transformers movie director Michael Bay spoke with Collider.com during the premiere of the Friday the 13th movie. In the interview, Bay discusses the filming of the Transformers movie sequel in Egypt, certain scenes in Imax, an estimated running time as well as his potential return for a third instalment - after taking a year-long break.

Simon Plumbe, co-creator of Auto Assembly, the largest Transformers Convention in the UK, has stopped by to inform Seibertron.com of a new guest confirmation for the upcoming event. Here's what he had to share:
Europe's largest Transformers convention, Auto Assembly 2009, taking place over the weekend of 15th-16th August at the Holiday Inn Birmingham City Centre in Birmingham, England is once again expanding it's ever increasing line-up of guests...
We are pleased to announce that IDW and Titan Books comic artist Nick Roche will be joining us for his first ever Auto Assembly appearance as our TWELFTH guest!
Nick will be actively involved with Auto Assembly 2009 throughout the weekend and as well as being a part of one of our two comic panels, he will be joining our other comic guests in the guest area meeting fans throughout the weekend signing autographs. Here, you'll be able to meet Nick to talk to him about his work, and he will also be doing sketches for fans!
If that wasn't enough, he will be donating some original artwork for our charity auction and Nick will also be one of the artists involved in our art workshops taking place during the convention so if you have ever wanted to draw Transformers like the professionals, here's your chance to find out how!!
Nick isn't the only one of our comic guests to be actively involved in the convention in this way. As well as taking part in the comic panels, many of our other comic guests will be doing more during the weekend...
SIMON WILLIAMS
Simon will be providing the artwork for one of the convention exclusive postcards that will be given away free to all attendees and once again, Simon will be on hand all weekend doing sketches for fans. But that's not all... Simon will also be bringing artwork for sale, prints and more besides.
ANDREW WILDMAN
Andrew will be doing the artwork for our other exclusive postcard, doing sketches for fans and bringing some original artwork for sale.
LIAM SHALLOO
Liam will be playing host to one of our comic art colouring workshops taking place during the weekend, and he will also be bringing prints with him for sale.
JASON CARDY and KAT NICHOLSON
Jason and Kat will be bringing a selection of brand new prints and badges for sale and Kat will be doing sketches for fans of Transformers Animated characters. We are also hoping that they will be involved in the convention in some other way too...
Please note that there may be charges from some of our artists for sketches and some may insist that they are personalised. We will bring you more updates on our other comic guests as we get them.

The NYC Comicon was nice enough to drop by here at Seibertron.com and share a friendly reminder of an expected, rare, appearance at the Convention by early MARVEL Transformers Comic guru Bob Budiansky. Here's what they had to share:
Hi everyone,
I just wanted to drop a quick note to remind you all that Bob Budiansky will be appearing this Saturday at the NYC Comicon. Although the show is three days, Bob will only be attending on Saturday.
Bob is known as the editor and writer of most of the early issues of the Marvel Transformers comics. (To a whole other group he is known as the artist on a well remembered run of the original Ghost Rider series.) Bob very rarely makes convention appearances.
Bob will be doing sketches (for a fee) and signing for free.

One of the most respected writers of the Transformers lore, Simon Furman, was recently interviewed by
MTV. This may not come as a big surprise to most fans, but Furman confirmed in the
article that the new Michael Bay movie, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, will
NOT feature any of the Dinobots. The British writer goes on and explain why he believes that this should not be seen as a bad thing.
"
The movie-verse feels quite different to me, with its own audience and far more rooted in the real world, and Dinobots wouldn't necessarily be a great fit. Sure, if they could come up with an appropriate rationale and integral reason for them being in there, fine, but it’d need to be good, otherwise it would all start to verge on the kitsch".

Transformers movie director Michael Bay dropped by his official forums to give some details regarding
this sunday's teaser for
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen during the Superbowl.
Bay states the spot (which was previously described as a "trailer") will air during the third quarter, and the spot will online shortly after. The full teaser trailer will be released on friday February 13th (likely to coincide with the Bay-produced
Friday the 13th remake) and won't be online until a week later.
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen will be released in theatres on June 26th, 2009.

So,
The Super Bowl spot is coming Sunday in the third Quarter (few minutes into the quarter slot). The spot will be online a few minutes after that - The full length teaser trailer will only be on Friday the Thirteenth. It will not hit the internet until a week later. The Teaser really only teases stuff - I'm holding so much stuff back from the final trailers because I personally hate going to movies where you have seen it all.

Revenge of the Fallen star Shia Laboeuf has had his driver's license temporarily suspended based on events stemming back to his July 27th car crash.
While he was not charged in the event, in LA, when an individual refuses to take a blood alcohol test, that person's license can be suspended. Shia's suspension started Saturday, January 17th, 2009.
The Seibertron.com community supports Shia in his battles with off screen problems, and wishes the actor well.
