Transformers: Nefarious is the latest Bayverse comic series from IDW - it is to bridge Revenge of the Fallen to the events of the third movie. Issue #1 isn't even out yet and already, revered and respected Transformers comic writer, Simon Furman is giving us a little sneak peek at what's going to happen in
Issue #2! You can check it out below or on Mr.Furman's blog
here.
As promised (in the previous Updates post), here’s my long overdue Script (W)rap for Transformers: Nefarious #2, the official comic book sequel to Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. This issue brings Optimus Prime fully into the fray, as The Initiative (the ultra-secret human organization at the heart of the mysterious Project: Nefarious… although when #1 comes out in March, it’ll be that much less mysterious) seek to distract, delay or stop entirely Soundwave’s investigations into the resurrection of Ravage. The all-seeing, all-knowing Decepticon is getting a mite too close to unwrapping the enigma that is The Initiative and, rather than engage directly (as they did in #1), they opt to pit faction against faction in the Utah Salt Flats. Soundwave’s strike team of Dirt Boss, Brakedown and Reverb mix it up with Ironhide, Sideswipe and the forces of NEST, but—as you’d expect—the sparks really fly when Soundwave and Optimus Prime go head-to-head! Meanwhile, National Security Adviser Theodore Galloway gets a whiff of Nefarious too. And, for him, that might just be terminal! Artist Carlos Magno is turning in the most lipsmacking art on this series, complemented by Kris Carter’s superlative colours. I’m so psyched about this series — I hope you guys will be too! More soon… and that’s a promise.

Jim Sorenson has updated his blog
Disciples of Boltax with a new page form the Ark Addendum.
This latest update is the transformation sequence for the Headmaster Chromedome. In the Japanese Generation 1 continuity Chromedome is a popular leader and took over leadership of the Autobots after Rodimus Prime's departure in "The Headmasters".

IDW Announces Two Sold-Out Titles in One Week
http://www.idwpublishing.com/news/article/1001/
Monday, Feb 1st, 2010 - New comics series TRANSFORMERS: Last Stand of the Wreckers #1 and G.I. JOE: COBRA II #1 both going to 2nd printing.
San Diego, CA (February 1, 2010) - The excitement keeps growing for IDW Publishing's TRANSFORMERS and G.I. JOE comics, with two new sold-out series last week. On Wednesday, January 27th, IDW released G.I. JOE: COBRA II #1, a continuation of the acclaimed COBRA series, and TRANSFORMERS: Last Stand of the WRECKERS #1, a new miniseries spinning out of IDW's ongoing story. Both comics flew off the shelves and are already sold-out though Diamond. Under license from Hasbro, IDW is rushing to a second printing for each, and fans can expect them in stores on February 10th.
"This is a really exciting time for fans of both TRANSFORMERS and G.I. JOE," said Andy Schmidt, editor of both lines of comics for IDW. "We've tried a lot of new things and had a lot of success due to the support of not only the existing fan base but also many newer fans who are discovering these comics for the first time."
TRANSFORMERS: Last Stand of the WRECKERS #1 2nd printing coverIn TRANSFORMERS: Last Stand of the WRECKERS, fan-favorite writer and artist Nick Roche helms the five-issue series, which rounds out IDW's trifecta of new TRANSFORMERS comics, including the new ongoing series and TRANSFORMERS: BUMBLEBEE. WRECKERS gives fans a taste of what's been happening off of Earth as the WRECKERS investigate a prison planet that fell to the evil DECEPTICONS three years ago. Called "a festival of awesome" by TFormers.com, the second printing of WRECKERS #1 will feature a variant cover by Roche.
"TRANSFORMERS fans braved some pretty bad Chicago weather to come out and get TRANSFORMERS: Last Stand of the WRECKERS#1 on Wednesday. Both old and new fans of TRANSFORMERS alike were quickly drawn to the book due to the amazing art by fan-favorite Nick Roche. And honestly, nobody can resist a Kup story," said Jimmy PS Hayes of Graham Cracker Comics in Wheaton, IL.
Written by Mike Costa and Christos Gage, G.I. JOE: COBRA II continues the danger and suspense of the acclaimed G.I. JOE: COBRA series, as the G.I. JOE team penetrates the evil COBRA organization and eventually comes face to face with COBRA COMMANDER himself. The masterful art of Antonio Fuso gives new layers to the subtle yet undeniable divide that fans have witnessed within COBRA, highlighted in the celebrated G.I. JOE: COBRA Special #1. The second printing of G.I. JOE: COBRA II #1 will offer an exclusive new variant cover treatment.
"With the recent success of the G.I. JOE comics, we were on top of this new series and made plans to bring it in. Early demand caused us to increase quantities before release and we still sold out the first week," commented Mike D'Elia of Astro-Zombies in Albuquerque, NM.
TRANSFORMERS: Last Stand of the Wreckers #1 (of 5; $3.99; 32 page; full color; 2nd printing) will be available in stores on February 10th. Diamond order code: DEC09 8305.
G.I. JOE: COBRA II #1 ($3.99, 32 pages; full color; 2nd printing) will be available in stores on February 10th. Diamond order code: DEC09 8306.

Hello Seibertronians, First Gen here with a (hopefully) better late than never review of one of the most anticipated comic books to be brought to us by IDW Publishing,
Transformers: Last Stand of the Wreckers #1!
Our story begins 3 years in the past from the current story arc,
Transformers Ongoing, in the Autobot Penitentiary Garrus-9. Under seige by Decepticon attack, Fortress Maximus and the few Autobots who are left to fend off the attack, fall to Overlord and his destructive onslaught. From there we get taken back and forth through time, witnessing the induction of new "Wreckers", the reappearance by a very influential human from the Autobots past, a Decepticon manhunt and ending with an "explosive" finale that will have you second guessing.
Story: Written by
Nick Roche and James Roberts, with the script being done by Nick Roche as well, Last Stand of the Wreckers is a serious, comedic and sometimes dark comedic treat that is sure to please. From the showmanship and brass rule of fan favorite Decepticon Overlord to the servo busting between the Wreckers, the story flows very well despite the time displacement that occurs throughout the comic. The story and mood of Last Stand is a stark contrast to the serious nature of Transformers Ongoing, offering light and dark humor amidst well timed action. Seeming to take page from Transformers Animated at one point and even throwing a Star Trek joke in there, Last Stand is setting itself up to be an instant classic.
Art: Aside from writing and scripting, Nick Roche also took on penciling and inking duties for Last Stand. G1 fans will be pleased to see that, like the story, Nick took the book in a more traditional direction, giving us familiar faces and throwing a couple obscure ones in there for good measure. Nick also made sure that the art fit the scenario, giving us some great comedic facial expressions, one ala Blitzwing from TF Animated (along with some chin-tastic hints), and hard, edgy battle scenes that capture the horror of battle well. Hardcore fans and casual readers alike will definitaly enjoy the visuals provided. The colors on the panels are very well balanced and background imaging is present on most pages, giving you the feeling of being there rather than just Bots and Cons standing in emptiness.
One of the most pleasing things about the book is the way Nick did the namedropping within the script, negating the need for "nametags" like we've seen in Ongoing. If you are a casual reader that only picks up a book every so often, you'll be fine reading Last Stand. The book even includes a More Than Meets The Eye type profile in the back for one of the "new" Wreckers, giving you more background on the seldom seen bots.
Overall this book delivers on all levels. It was fun to read, great to look at and is shaping up to be a great addition to the Transformers Universe. If you haven't gotten the book, I highly recommend that you do. Last Stand starts with a bang, ends with a bigger bang and will keep you on your toes to the last panel.

Seibertron.com member minimus-minor has just posted new information about IDW Publishing's continuance of the Transformers saga,
Transformers Ongoing #6.
A variant cover, done by artist Andrew Wildman, is now visible at IDW Editor Chris Ryall's blogspot,
RyallTime. Seibertron.com
reported earlier that Wildman would only be doing six covers for the series, so the number of covers we can expect from Andrew dwindling down. Andrew's variant art gives us a straight G1 representation of the characters portrayed in Ongoing, giving fans and collectors a reason to grab more than just one copy.
Also posted, is a cover for the next book in the SPOTLIGHT series: Prowl, done by artist EJ Su, bearing a striking resemblance to his Universe 2.0 figure.
