“THE PILGRIM” DEBUTS ON COMICMIX.COM – GRAPHIC NOVEL BY MARK RYAN & MIKE GRELL IS BASED ON TRUE PARANORMAL EVENTS OF WORLD WAR II
Los Angeles, CA – November 18, 2008: The long-awaited graphic novel, “The Pilgrim,” by veteran comic creators Mike Grell (Sable, Green Arrow, Ironman) and Mark Ryan (“Transformers,” “The Prestige”), debuted on ComicMix.com this week. The weekly episodic graphic novel is based on true accounts of modern paranormal espionage techniques first used during World War II. Episode one of “The Pilgrim” is available exclusively for free and in color at ComicMix.com. “The Pilgrim” is an adult-format novel that will appeal to fans of dark comics, sci-fi and horror.
Ryan originally wrote “The Pilgrim” as a screen play based on the use of psychics and occultists during World War II by Allied forces to influence the minds and strategies of the Nazi leadership, which helped save Britain from invasion. The graphic novel will intertwine historical characters with modern paranormal capabilities used in current intelligence-gathering operations to infiltrate and interdict hostile organizations and governments. Grell sets the tone for the dark storyline with his brilliantly descriptive and gritty illustration.
“The story behind Colonel Kim Seymour and 'The Pilgrim' and has been living in my head for many years, so it's wonderful to see it finally brought to life,” says Mark Ryan. “The real reward for me is to see this brilliantly accomplished by Mike Grell. He truly is the best in the business and knows how to illustrate the complexity and brutality of modern Special Forces intelligence operations in graphic and compelling detail.”
Ryan and Grell reunited with Mike Gold, one of the founders of ComicMix and former senior editor for DC Comics to host “The Pilgrim.” The trio originally teamed in 1991 to develop the 50th Anniversary edition of the comic-book “Green Arrow” for DC Comics.
ComicMix.com launched in September 2007 as a destination for everyone who loves comics, TV shows, movies, games and pop culture. The site, which also offers news and interviews, will develop additional multimedia content with Ryan and Grell including blogs and podcasts.

Transformers comic book writer Simon Furman has done another update to his personal blog. In this update he gives us the goods on the far off book,
Maximum Dinobots #2. In his usual manner, he gives us more teasers than actual spoilers, but one thing he assures us of is that things will go from bad to horrific.
Here's a taste of what he had to tell us:
...the good news is, after about 10,000 years or so under solidified lava (see Spotlight: Shockwave for details) all the Dynobots are finally reunited. The bad news is, after about 10,000 years or so under solidified lava (see Spotlight: Shockwave for details) all the Dynobots are finally reunited. Not a typo.
And if that ruined the book for you, then don't bother reading the rest of what he had to say. According to the post, artist Nick Roche isn't talking to him because of the fate of one particular Autobot.
Want to know more? Click
here for all the good badness on this book set for release in December 2008.

Attendees of this years San Diego Comic Convention will be treated to a host of great appearances and exclusive goodness, but one thing they won't get to do is meet the man, the myth , the legend that is Simon Furman. Mr. Furman will not be attending the SDCC this year so that he can, instead, attend the United Kingdom's biggest Transformers based convention: Auto Assembly.
Sad for SDCC attendees, but great news for our UK brethren. Mr. Furman will be joined by a host of other great TF legends such as Andrew Wildman, Geoff Senior and Staz Johnson. And he also states he'll be bringing along lots of goodies for attendees to get signed.

Like many of us IDW's Chris Ryall could not make it to BotCon 2007. However, he is still answering fan question in the
IDW Forums. Here is what he has revealed so far:
Transformers Revelation will take place on Earth.
Characters are planned to die in Devastation.
Kup will be back.
Frenzy and Rumble will make it into the main books.
We with see either Cyclonus or Scourge, maybe both.
In the Optimus Prime Spotlight we will learn more about the Dead Universe.
There is one more Spotlight currently planned and it will focus on a character debuting in the Transformers/Avengers crossover.
No word on when IDW will reprint Titans comics in the United States.
Target will offer an exclusive version of the
Transformers Movie DVD in November that will come with an all-new 22-page Prequel comic written by Chris Ryall, with art by Don and Andrew Wildman. It features Starscream and some other Decepticons, and even a character that didn't make it into the movie itself, Wreckage.
Also you can view new a never before seen image of Nick Roche's Beast Wars Guidebook images.

Once again Simon Furman has updated his blog at
Wildfur.net. Furman's latest blog update concerns the upcoming United Kingdom exclusive Transformers comic published by Titan. According to Furman Transformers UK #4, a 10-page story placed in the
Transformers Movie continuity will focus on the Decepticon Devastator. The first issue of the series hits UK newsstands on July 19th. Issues #1-6 all feature largely self-contained, character-led stories which are laced into the IDW Movie Prequel storyline. The six one-shots will have a linking ongoing theme. Issues #3-6 are much less tied to the main storyline. The characters involved sidetracked somewhat and are given a chance to shine by themselves.
