Audion's Bio

Call him a babysitter, and you'll get a proppeller assembly up-side the head But as Guzzlers go, the efficency bots know that Audion is one of the good ones. Always, he's seen the smaller Minicons, Micromasters, and their kin as simply bots with a different ability. He employed them at their skill, not because they were small, but because he was too big. It was kind of humbling for the minis.

Before the War, Audion was a galxy-renowned communications builder. His specialty was compact stations ranging from straight audio to full holographic channels. Mostly, his designs removed the need for 40ft height toloerances for ones that were only 10ft, giving his minicon comrades room to work comfortably no matter what extra parts they carried or parts they had on them. While he built the heavy stuff, three or four of his staff could be making hardwire connections. Of course, the few breakdowns he experienced meant the smaller minicons had to be called back to repair the damage since regular repairmen couldn't reach, but his quality was enough to overcome.

On his "staff" were 2 dozen minicons, two pairs were combiners. Each resembeld in color the major cassetticons. Typically, not all of them went with Audion at one time, a few would gauard his primary repeater and parts warehouse.

But as bots discovered what "else" a mincon could do, Audion's crew became prized for more than their work ethic. For a while, they fooled everyone by covering their ports, but the powerlinx summons were getting more tuned, and soon their cover was blown again. About that time though, several bots began using the radio stations to hide encrypted, piggybacked messeges. The Decepticons began a sweep on all these repeaters and transmitters, giving Audion and crew an excuse to flee. Flashwave overheard him in a bar one evening, talking to no one about wishing the minicons could be masked. one human week later, he was introduced to Tec Spec and Sea Bee, who began just such am undertaking.

Audion doesn't have the subspace equipment like Soundwave and Blaster. Instead, located in his chest/cockpit is a slotted carousel designed to hold the Minicon buttoncells. Though he never fashioned himself a medicinal engineer, he managed to allow them that storage mode while maintaning contiousness. One benefit to that is that Audion and his team of minicons can network with each other. It's not a powerlink, just a vitual braintrust inside of Audion. This also gives them full ability to Audion's communications rig in his back/tail section. Stored, each minicon can process two enriched media channels--holographic communications--and jam them, or alter and send them back out. Audion can do himself another ten, and even if one minicon takes over viral filtering in the channels, and Audion gives up computing power for heavier duty channels, the guy can still wlak around and manipulate over fifty individual comm lines safely and securely without any sign of being pre-occupied. He's also boosted Keystroke's hacking network through this system, allowing her to use him as an anntennae, and she, and the 24 minicons inside of him can also being going through files on the network, though this can require him to focus more on the download.

Audion's weaponry is slightly less however. He is a near master at manipulating airwave pressures and can do shields and pulse blasts pretty easily. His proppellers end up on his wrists in robot mode, and have several times seen there way through a bot's body. Because of their width in vehicle mode, Audion is limited to repetitive burst and heavy shell artillery (which there's plenty of facing in all directions), he has no real place to stick missile launchers. His aircraft mode is equipped with vertical flight capabilites at high altitudes, allowing him to stay stationary for long periods at a time. Inside his cargo bay is a collapsing rack similar to the carousel in his chest for holding more minicons. This fills the cieling, giving additional payload space or seating inside. Wehn deployed, it looks like the rack employed by another species for their battle droids, and can carry nearly the entire minicon population hiding amongst Silence, now disabled from their battery-like functions, but still able to use the powerlink ports, since clinging to somebpdy who can move faster than you, or clinging to somebody who does the moving while you o the shooting is still practical. And even the combiner minis still have their combination capabilites.
