Any Armada or Energon figures worth getting?
- Motto: "Amazing! A boobie trap that actually catches boobies. [Optimus Prime]"
I mostly collect Classics, & recently got a ton of Cybertron figures, & love their detailed sculpts, paint apps & articulation.
I already have an Armada Wheeljack (who looks cool, but is a brick), Armada Megatron, & a Japanese version of Tidal Wave. Are there any other figures from the Armada or Energon lines worth getting? Most of them look blocky or have weird head sculpts to me. Thanks in advance for any advice!

I really like the Armada Seekers. Energon Ultra Magnus is quite cool, cannot believe I sold mine
Energon Acree is pretty good but small. People seem like Energon Galvatron, I have Megatron and can see why although with the wings he takes up a fair chunk of space.

To me a lot of the Armada figures were great, because I liked the more blocky type figures.
The smaller Prime is a definite must have. Larger Prime not so much.
Armada Megatron is one hell of a tank. Also a must have.
And as Ravage said, you can't go past the Armada seeker molds.

Oh, Tidal Wave is also worth a look. Then there is the mighty Unicron, you cannot pass him up.

From Energon I enjoy Bulkhead and Landmine. I can't think of any "must have" Armada figures.

IMO, Armada Hoist is an overlooked figure, and I know a lot of people dig Armada Sideways with his double head-master mini-con thing, although to me he just looks strange...
Most of Energon was pretty solid, but the scout class figures in that line were pretty inspired. Definitely track down Divebomb and maybe Battle Ravage as well!

There are actually a lot of molds from Energon that will round out a classics display nicely
Energon Shockwave and Grapple are obvious additions
Superlink Wheeljack (the Takara version of energon downshift) is a great classics wheeljack since his body is grey and not green like the hasbro version.
Energon Slugslinger and Scorponok could also pass for Classics updates to their G1 forms.

I think Energon Arcee was a nice little figure (though the Elita One repaint from the movie line looks more like G1 Arcee)
I also really liked Energon Rodimus (repaint of Checkpoint) even though his back is a bit funky...
And though a lot of people seem to not like him, I really dig Energon Shokwave (er...Shockblast, whatever...)
Armada Unicron is a must (and since he was re-released as a TRU exclusive he's stil alvailable)

Re: Any Armada or Energon figures worth getting?
I love the Energon Arcee mold, and you can get it in a few different repaints, like the Movie Elita-One. Energon Skorponok is awesome, as long as the joints don't break. There are also several neat little Energon Scouts that are worth getting if you find them cheap.
And of course Armada Unicron is the bomb. The only downside to having him in your collections is that if you display him in robot mode he makes even your Leader-class figures looks pitifully small. You can probably still get him at TRU for $50.

Energon Mirage or Superlink Dreadwing is great. Has a really nice look that doesnt really fit in with the rest of the line. Nice and complicated and scary looking.

The Superlink version is called Shockfleet, and Dreadwing's the repaint. If you can choose either or, I'd get Dreadwing, I love the tribal pattern on his wings and he looks really ghostly with the grey and purple. The mold makes for a nice G1 Scourge

Thanks for putting me straight on that. I have Superlink Shockfleet and Dreadwing and agree that Dreadwing looks best.

Re: Any Armada or Energon figures worth getting?
HaHa, Unicron was the last Armada figure I purchased, just cause he is so big. But, I cannot believe that you all forgot about one of the most awesome pieces of the Armada line and that is Optimus Prime with trailer! That base it opens into is just fantastic, not to mention how Prime looks in linked mode with Ultra Magnus. But I like the yellow recolor of Primes trailer the best!
Megatron is awesome too and his recolor into Galvatrom and Megazarek.
My favorite thing about the Armada line is the minicons. Anyway, I do not collect the Energon line so I offer no comment on them.

Articulation wise, Armada was pretty limited, but that doesn't mean it did not have good figures as many have said already.
Must owns would have to be:
Deluxe Bendy Prime
Blurr
Unicron
Demolishor
From energon:
Skorponok
Prime + Wing Saber
Galvatron
Rodimus
Towline
Shoclwave
Articulation is a little limited, but they are still great molds, with good features.

Re: Any Armada or Energon figures worth getting?
My must-have from Armada (not mentioned yet) was the combination of Super Optimus Prime with Jetfire AND Overload. True, he was top-heavy after all that but I loved how it all worked to combine in both robot AND vehicle modes, with Overload as the launcher for Jetfire.
Agree for the most part on the Seekers, except that a caution should be had when acquiring Skywarp -- mine has a warped fin on his head that never seems to want to straighten out, even after dousing it w/ hot water and then cooling it. I prefer Thundercraker more for this reason but it's really a QC problem on how I got him.
Also agree on the bendy Prime, love him and especially his targetmaster minicon.
Better yet, get Nemesis Prime, for a cooler repaint -- but Nemesis has some weird kibble in his head that doesn't happen with bendy Prime. Not catastrophic.
Energon:
Downshift was the toy that got me into collecting again, so that one holds a special place in my heart. Part of it was, I never had a G1 Wheeljack, so he became my defacto G1 Wheeljack.
Snowcat was a gift from my kids and is really a fun, fun toy, don't pass him up. He's common too, so that's a bonus.
Of the basics, I like Skyblast the best, probably b/c of the obvious homage to Skyfire. Had a lot of play value w/ that one.
The energon weapons are garbage, but the figure itself is the prize.

For Energon, many of the basics were quite excellent. I have few other Energon figures, however.
Some of my favorite figs:
The wedge-shaped Aerialbot jet limbs (as robot and vehicle mode)
The Constructicon limbs - both molds.
Barricade
Sharkticon
Divebomb
I do not have any of the Combaticon limbs, but they appear to be pretty good.

Re: Any Armada or Energon figures worth getting?
There's a good many Energion figures worth getting or at least worth considering including
Arcee
Rodimus
Galvatron
Starscream
Scorponik maybe (I don't have him but would like to have him)
Skyblast (looks like Skyfire from G1)
Downshift (to use as Wheeljack like I do)
Bulkhead (paint his face silver and remove the eye-shield and he makes a pretty good Springer)
If you don't have a G1 version or like me and don't like the Classics' version, the Energon version of Grimlock isn't bad.
If you don't have a G1 Shockwave, Shockblast is ok if you can live with the stupid arm cannon falling off all the time.
And of course there's Armada Unicron. Tidal Wave's okay too.

From Armada
Megatron
Galvatron
Small Prime and/or Superpants Prime
(I like 'em both, but the pants mode is pretty lame)
Jetfire (I still need this one)
Tidal wave (still need him too)
Unicron is a must have

Predacon
Terrorsaur
Airrazor & Cheetor (these 2 just look cool together)
From Energon
Alpha Quintesson
Arcee (I really like this mold & I'm a sucker for Bike-bots)
Beachcomber (really fits with Powerglide)
Bulkhead
Demolisher (dump truck version is a ringer for Longhaul)
Downshift (is many people's "classics" Wheeljack)
Kicker & Highwire (just kind of neat)
Galvatron (in my must have group)
Scorponock (in my must have group)
Shockblast (an excellent Shockwave if you can replace/cut down the giant arm)
Rodimus (is decent but not a must have)
I also really like this version of Unicron.
Edit:
Oh, almost forgot, Snowcat is pretty cool if you are a GI Joe fan, and the Starscreams are both really nice too.
